I quite liked her. But I think this is what she was all about really. And also this public death, it's interesting how far removed we are from death - it makes it very real, her death.

This particular thread title is a little strong though, agree.

Is it ok with all the people who have posted in EVERY thread about Jade Goody's illness and death about how much they hate the whole thing, if I post in every thread where someone expresses sympathy for a bereaved mother on this forum and ask them why they care?

I love the idea of back-slapping forum posting pride.

Someone died. Yes, beanieb. Someone I had neither time nor respect for. That doesn't mean I don't feel compassion for her death or for her family.

But I'm not going to pretend I thought she was a nice or good person.

That said, I do think that some of these threads today are as distasteful as the mawkish, competitive sadding, rubbernecking ones which, as Pruners says, are excruciating.

Oh dear. I haven't seen any vitriol. I've only seen shock at old threads of people being horrid about her when she was in BB. But I may well have come late to this whole party.

There is a lot of vitriol. The title of this thread is vitriolic (and yes I know it's an old thread), the bumping of the Jade threads is vitriolic. The whole thing is just so pathetic and I just don't know why there are so many people who want to spend so much time telling everyone about what they don't feel in regards to someone's death/fame.

I think the advice would be 'hide the threads then' but that is true of everyone, including those people who have this weird desire to tell everyone who expresses sympathy that their sympathy is pointless or stupid or not worthwhile.

Sorry - I know that I am myself starting to sound repetitive but seriously guys I have never read so much continuous wank in my life as I have today.
