OMG.

Too much weirdness on here. Sick fucks.

and before you/anyone says anything about me or my posts, don't, I already know......

I like dots I do.

GLaDOS · 24/03/2009 13:05

OH ffs. where is thayt worrying bone...

GLaDOS · 24/03/2009 13:12

Dittany, as much as you might like it to be, it is not a crime to comment about other MN'etters on here, especially after said MN'etters draw attention to themeselves by asking posts to be censored, posts that contain nothing offensive in them, but simply might contain one or two trigger words that get your stress response going. Rather than start a dialogue, you hit the censor button. Fine. You continue to follow your instincts whereever they may lead you. From now on I will whistle when I see your posts, please do me the favour of doing the same when you see mine.

"isn;t it so sad that we are asked to celeberate people of the like of Jade and her husband "

saraya who asked you to celebrate them?

"i think it is so sad and such a disgrace for those honest unknown people who suffer and who mean so much to others"

what do you mean by this? Why is it a disgrace? You think that the death and publicity surrounding the death of a famous person is a disgrace for those honest unknown people who suffer?

My dad died of a heart attack. it doesn't mean shit to me that jade got publicity etc. makes no difference to the way I personally feel about my dad's death and I am confused about why some famous person's death would actually be in anyway disgracing someone elses personal experience of the death of a loved one. That's a weird thing to say.

GLaDOS - I don't think jade was Vulgar, nor do I think people 'of her class' are vulgar! How weird that you might.

"If you buy OK magazine you are effectively paying to see Jade die. You can't then complain about how low the media are. In my opinion, next time you think about buying Ok, hello, Alreet or whatever, you should put a couple of quid in a charity box instead"

Really! I buy OK magazine most weeks. I wasn't buying it to see Jade die. I like a bit of gossip thanks very much and I choose to give to charity when I choose to thank you! Would it be ok with you if I bought it and put four quid into a charity boc as well? (btw - OK costs £2.95)
Not that I will but I am trying to work out th e logic behind your post.

"So is it the media culture that is crap or the people? I'm confused.. "

some of the media is crap, some of the people are crap. People as a whole can't be defined by their magazine buying habits as they are often more coplex than that!

GLaDOS · 24/03/2009 18:25

lol Beanie! Yes. My turn to go - Hmm

kingprawnjalfrezi · 24/03/2009 18:38

My logic was that I think it would be better for the millions to go to cancer charities, hospices and nurses who care for the dying rather than one overrated celebrity.

solidgoldbrass · 24/03/2009 18:41

Kingprawn, bored as I am of the Goody wankfest, I think people are entitled to spend their money on what they want. It's getting a bit horsehair-tampon to say they should give their spare cash to charideee instead of buying crappy magazines or sleb wimwammery with it.

kingprawnjalfrezi · 24/03/2009 18:51

Oh dear - charidee is it. No wonder lots of them are struggling at the moment. There are hospices in our area that are under threat of closure at the moment because they rely on donations from local business which have dried up because of the recession. They would be grateful for a bit of Jade's handout.

beanieb · 24/03/2009 18:58

your turn to go Hmm... but not to answer the questions?

Would it be better if I put the £4 in a charity box and bought the magaz\ine if I choose to?

KPJ - the money Jade made from selling her story should go where she wanted it to go, it's her money. The money the papers now make by doorstopping her kids, yes, perhaps they (the papers) should have some conscience and donate it all to Cancer charities but they won't. Nor will the Paps or their agents.

AitchTwoOh · 24/03/2009 20:01

i dunno, i think people should question why they're buying rubbish like heat and hello etc and what that says about them tbh. they're the ones fuelling this 'see everything' culture.

LEMAGAIN · 24/03/2009 20:04

nice

beanieb · 24/03/2009 20:07

I used to buy Heat, I stopped over a year ago because I thought to myself 'why do i actually need to know these things about people?' plus I didn't approve of some of the articles, plus it used to be really good when it first came out but has gone rapidly down hill.

I still buy OK because there's a wider variety of articles about all sorts of things from Fashion to diet to cooking to peeking inside the homes of people who have welcomed them in through their doors.

If OK offended me then I might think twice about buying it, indeed I did think twice when I saw the tribute issue but not enough to stop me buying it.

Just because I buy OK! doesn't mean it's all I buy and doesn't mean I buy the 'sun' every day. I read a wide variety of things and one of them happens to be OK! I don't feel like I am a bd person for doing so and am not bothered by other people who think I am.

GLaDOS · 24/03/2009 20:17

Well forgive me Beanie, but I don;t think "GLaDOS - I don't think jade was Vulgar, nor do I think people 'of her class' are vulgar! How weird that you might"..was actually a question...

AitchTwoOh · 24/03/2009 20:20

just as a matter of interest, you know that a lot of those celebrity homes are actually hotels? it's all artifice.

kingprawnjalfrezi · 24/03/2009 20:25

It might be her money - but you gave it to her!

izyboy · 24/03/2009 20:29

Really aitch? Now I am feeling manipulated!

AitchTwoOh · 24/03/2009 20:31

yeah, totally, iz. sorry to disappoint.

beanieb · 24/03/2009 20:32

NO! but "Would it be ok with you if I bought it and put four quid into a charity boc as well? " was a question.

beanieb · 24/03/2009 20:34

"you know that a lot of those celebrity homes are actually hotels? it's all artifice" yes - a lot of them are hotels, I know some of it is artifice. Why do you mention it?

kingprawnjalfrezi · 24/03/2009 20:34

If everyone who bought ok also put £4 in a charity box at least some good would come out of an otherwise pointless publication.

beanieb · 24/03/2009 20:35

"It might be her money - but you gave it to her!" so what?

AitchTwoOh · 24/03/2009 20:36

"peeking inside the homes of people who have welcomed them in through their doors."

that's why. because you're mostly peeking inside hotels. i'm responding to what you've written, beanie.

beanieb · 24/03/2009 20:39

Aitch - yes but you said 'a lot of those celebrity homes are actually hotels?" - a lot of them are, a lot of them aren't. So what? What does it matter? You think I am being hoodwinked and buying a magazine which I think is telling/showing me one thing but telling/showing me another and you are helpfully pointing it out to me incase i am unaware ?

My response is 'yes I know, so what?'
