Warning: it's a distressing read.

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/12149716/Milly-Dowlers-family-Now-we-know-the-final-hours-of-Millys-life.html

Her poor family, being manipulated and made to suffer yet again by this monster. And he insisted on giving his "confession" to female officers, no doubt because he got a kick out of it.

And the list of unsolved murders and attacks that he's under suspicion for is truly chilling.

Prison is too good for him.

No wannabe, the family have been absolutely crystal clear that they wanted this information in the public domain. Their decision has nothing to do with the other prisoner being released. In fact, that prisoner was released last May and has not attempted to sell his story to the press so far, so not much reason to think he would now. So the only thing which would have stopped this getting in the press is gagging the Dowlers. Gagging a victim's family from discussing details of a crime for non-operational reasons is just a repellent, dangerous idea.

allinall · 11/02/2016 12:57

What a vile man, and I hope he spends the rest of his miserable life in fear of retaliation from other inmates.

How arrogant of him to claim he is a Muslim. If I understand correctly ( not a Muslim myself), Islam says that everyone will be judged by God on the balance of their good and bad deeds. Why would he possibly think he could ever outweigh the terrible things he has done with anything good? Such self delusion and arrogance.

At least he will spend eternity paying for what he has done, and I hope every moment is agony for him.

SirVixofVixHall · 11/02/2016 13:44

I am another who is against the death penalty in principle, but in these sort of circs, I half feel he should just be put down. What is the point of him being alive, using up funds that could be spent helping others? Evil evil man, repeated violence and murder against women and girls, psychopath. I suppose the only point to keeping him alive is that he may confess other crimes, and as he took so long to confess to killing Milly, if we'd had the death penalty in place then that information wouldn't have been given. I understand why the family may have wanted to put the information out, to regain control as others have said, and for the extent of his evil to be known. Shocking that his mother refuses to believe it and still visits him every week. I suppose that is the only way she can function.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 11/02/2016 14:41

"Exactly. The reality is upsetting and sickening, but don't pretend you're taking the moral high ground when turning a blind eye. If you'd rather not know, that's fine, but you're not a better person because of it."

Again, no one has said anything of the sort. I've said I'd rather not know because I don't want to give LB the satisfaction. Me knowing more of the details could not make me hate him more or sympathise with the Dowlers any more than I do already.

As an aside, one of the most horrific aspects of this case imo is the phone hacking. And the fact that Rebekah Brooks was cleared of all charges.

InionEile · 11/02/2016 16:10

That is some rap sheet of hate crimes against women that Belfield racked up before he was finally stopped. How did he escape the attention of the authorities for so long?

I'm also concerned about the fact that a cell mate of his Belfield's is scheduled for release, which is allegedly why police released his statement on what he did. Presumably Belfield is in one of the most secure units in the country? Hopefully? So how could anyone who is bad enough to be cellmates with him be due for release? Life should mean life with scumbags who are this dangerous to the public.

originalmavis · 11/02/2016 16:13

It's a pity they just can't take that ugly tiny brain our if his hideous carcass for medical research to try to find out what makes things like him tick.

Fairylea · 11/02/2016 16:15

I couldn't sleep last night for thinking about this. My dd is the same age as Milly was and it just played over and over in my mind. Just horrific.

Lottapianos · 11/02/2016 16:16

'As an aside, one of the most horrific aspects of this case imo is the phone hacking. And the fact that Rebekah Brooks was cleared of all charges'

I agree. I feel almost physically sick when I think of her parents believing she had picked up her voice messages so must have been alive, when all the time it was the absolute scum of the earth at NOTW. Its a ghastly case from start to finish.

I understand why people don't want to read or hear any of the details, and almost regretted reading it myself yesterday. On the other hand, a poster upthread described the urge to 'bear witness' to dreadful events and I also understand that urge very much. Its the Dowlers' story to tell, or not, and they have made their choice.

shutupandshop · 11/02/2016 17:46

I really shouldn't have read that. That poor little girl and her family. I cant stop worrying about my own daughters. Glad that scumbag is behind bars. he should of been executed

Chippednailvarnish · 11/02/2016 18:06

One can only hope that Rebekah Brooks can reflect on NOTW's actions as a paper and consider how she would feel if it were her child.

Maybe.

3littlefrogs · 12/02/2016 15:19

I doubt people like Rebekah Brooks care one iota about the victims. It is all about the story and the money.

Chippednailvarnish · 12/02/2016 15:24

I do wonder if she is on some sort of extra long career break and she'll be brought back to head another paper for Murdoch...

MrsWhirling · 12/02/2016 16:33

Brooks is already back at The Sun! She came back last year.

Chippednailvarnish · 12/02/2016 18:17

She's not actually working for a paper directly. She the chief executive of the group.

Adeleslostbeehive · 12/02/2016 18:43

I've just seen the news and he's put in a compliant to the police saying he didn't confess :(

originalmavis · 12/02/2016 18:54

I just came to say that. Utter utter bastard. He is playing games. Lock him in a single cell and throw away the key. God, how can his (female?) lawyer look at herself in the mirror?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/02/2016 19:05

I genuinely don't know how parents find the strength to act with such dignity in these situations. Poor Milly and her family. Re Bellfield- I've worked with prisoners for many years. The big boys will sort him out. I feel for the officers and health care staff that will be required to treat him with respect and care for him.

originalmavis · 12/02/2016 19:49

I know I shouldn't say/think it, but 'good'.

I hope the big boys get 14 hours uninterrupted time to show him what they think.

snowymountaintops · 13/02/2016 09:37

I hope so too. 14 hours with a blind eye shown by everyone.

I hope the officers and staff don't show him any respect, just do the absolute bare minimum that they are required to and with as much contempt as they can get away with.

Truly shocked, that poor, poor girl.
He should be used as a casestudy on how not to bring up children, how to treat girls and women societally with more tespect- all those women before disbelieved!- how to reduce the number pf dangerous men released by "uncertain"juries who go on to kill (again).

HeadJudgeLen · 14/02/2016 20:53

I think they are trying to head off potentially worse newspaper stories. What a fucking position to be in! He is pure evil and surely is enjoying the attention. Its a lose lose situation as far as the poor family is concerned. RIP Millie.

originalmavis · 14/02/2016 20:59

So where did the info go come from? Who said what go who? It's very confusing. He is having a high old time of it isn't he?

Kreacherelf · 14/02/2016 21:06

May I just say that my post was deleted because I said something 'aggressive' about this piece of scum, not because I said anything bad about Millie or her family. Sad

snowymountaintops · 15/02/2016 19:23

I saw your post (well the first few words but presumed it continued in a similar fashion) before it disappeared Kreacherelf and couldn't understand why it had been deleted.
