Warning: it's a distressing read.

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/12149716/Milly-Dowlers-family-Now-we-know-the-final-hours-of-Millys-life.html

Her poor family, being manipulated and made to suffer yet again by this monster. And he insisted on giving his "confession" to female officers, no doubt because he got a kick out of it.

And the list of unsolved murders and attacks that he's under suspicion for is truly chilling.

Prison is too good for him.

I don't underarms the people making a thing out of not reading it. All the information released is in this thread, there is nothing else in the statement.
Obviously the press haven't published detailed accounts of exactly what happened to her.

Adeleslostbeehive · 11/02/2016 07:56

Understand not underarms. Weird autocorrext

Outaboutnowt · 11/02/2016 08:16

It's disturbing to read.
I cannot imagine the hell that Milly's parents have been through, on top of the disappearance and murder of their daughter, they have been harrassed, lied to and let down by the police and prison services. The police spent some time investigating Milly's father as a suspect, slowing down the investigation. And the News of the World hacked them too.

Just read this on Wikipedia:

Paul Hughes was convicted of making threats to kill and was jailed for five years after sending letters to Dowler's mother threatening to kill her and claiming to have killed Dowler. The letters were sent whilst Hughes was in prison for indecently assaulting a twelve-year-old girl; the prison service apologised for not screening mail effectively.

Lianne Newman, of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, repeatedly phoned Dowler's parents, school and the police, pretending to be Dowler. Newman was jailed in April 2003 for five months after pleading guilty to five counts of making phone calls to cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety.

Gary Farr, of Retford, Nottinghamshire, repeatedly e-mailed Dowler's parents, school friends and police officers working on the case, claiming that Dowler had been smuggled out of the country to work as a prostitute and stripper at nightclubs in Poland, and that her death had been a cover-up. Farr was sectioned indefinitely under the Mental Health Act on 19 October 2006 for being a serious psychological danger to the public after admitting a charge of harassment.

And now nearly 14 years later they have this, the murderer bragging about more horrific details of what happened to their daughter.

bakeoffcake · 11/02/2016 08:18

I actually don't believe what he's saying.

I think he's absolutely evil and has made up the most horrific details in order to inflict more pain on Milly's family and the female officers involved.
I hope and pray I'm right and Milly died very quickly.xx

bakeoffcake · 11/02/2016 08:21

Can I also add- why would anyone believe what this monster has to say?

I don't get it at all, he's never told the truth about anything since the day he was arrested.

He's a lying, manipulative, evil bastard.

NorthernLurker · 11/02/2016 08:28

I agree with Billsykes.

What seems more likely to be true - this horrible and prolonged situation which is not that similar to the other crimes attributed to this man and which doesn't fit with the timeline known AND which would have been very hard to carry out unseen OR that this man, who hates women, exaggerates the truth for attention and to get a thrill plus kudos amongst a certain sector of the prison population. He clearly did get a kick out of describing it because he asked for women officers only.

I do wonder if that was the view of the police too and that is why they were reluctant to release it. The Dowler family have been through so much and obviously need to regain control of the situation so their frustration and anger is very understandable.

bakeoffcake · 11/02/2016 08:38

I think in their statement the family mentioned they wanted the public to know what he has said.

The family may feel that if the public know these details, (true or otherwise) public opinion will mean he is never, ever released.

ThomasRichard · 11/02/2016 08:52

I hope it isn't true. Either way, he is a foul person who should never see the light of day again. It's horrifying to think that such vile specimens exist in the world.

I don't agree with the death penalty but I hope that his time in prison is long and boring enough that he comes to feel the full horror of his actions before he dies.

More than that, I hope that Milly's family, the families of the other girls he hurt and murdered and the innocent people who are unfortunate enough to have to interact with him get all the support and kindness possible and are able to find some measure of peace.

Adeleslostbeehive · 11/02/2016 08:57

I don't think there is any judgement on whether it's true or not, just a passing on of information. They won't keep it confidential because they're not sure whether it's true. He is still saying it

bakeoffcake · 11/02/2016 09:17

Yes I agree Adel but there seems to be an assumption in the press and on threads like this, that what he is saying, is true.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 11/02/2016 09:18

I read the article yesterday
I wish to god i hadnt
True or not it reveals the workings of a mind that i never want to think about

BillSykesDog · 11/02/2016 09:18

wannabe, I'm actually really shocked at what you're saying.

I do question the wisdom of the Dowler's releasing this, because LB obviously gets off on upsetting them and manipulating them from prison. I think that they've played right into his hands and he's probably loving it. However, I don't pretend I know what it would be like to be in their shoes, and she is still their daughter and they have every right to speak about her and her death if they wish.

The idea of gagging family members from speaking about how a victim died for anything other than operational reasons is absolutely abhorrent and could lead to dangerous places where victims relatives were gagged and prosecuted to protect the interests of killers. It should not and will not ever happen.

flippinada · 11/02/2016 09:24

Yes, it occurred to me he might be making it up. It seems to be in keeping with with his character - he would enjoy the distress caused.

wannaBe · 11/02/2016 10:22

Nobody suggested gagging the family. But the implication here is that the reason this was released to the media was because another inmate was in possession of this information and was prepared to release it to the press.

My suggestion was that the press could easily have been prevented from publishing any of that information, thus eliminating the need for the police to release it with permission of the family. Iyswim.

Adeleslostbeehive · 11/02/2016 11:11

I'm take your point but I'm not actually sure an injunction can be granted because the other party is dead. It's not her family he's talking about and I don't think there is any precedent to gag stories to protect people outside of the actual story. Not certain though

VagueIdeas · 11/02/2016 11:52

People are assuming that the family released the information to stop a cellmate going to the press, wannabe.

Equally, the family may have wanted the details in the public domain for other reasons.

I don't see why that's such a bad thing.

People are perfectly entitled to take the moral high ground and say they'll refuse to ever read it/they won't give Bellfield the satisfaction of knowing what he did.

Well, fuck Bellfield. What the Dowlers want is the most important thing. And I sincerely hope they've experienced nothing but waves of support since yesterday.

OP posts:
CremeBrulee · 11/02/2016 12:11

Totally agree with Wanabee.

I hope the Dowler family have been properly counselled and advised before going ahead with this release of information. After all their anguish and loss and torment, I am so sad for them.

VagueIdeas · 11/02/2016 12:16

But why should Milly's story have been hushed up? Because it's unpalatable? Taboo?

I don't recall the same being said about the rape and murder of Tia Sharpe.

OP posts:
Adeleslostbeehive · 11/02/2016 12:16

Totally agree with vague. Tbh, After all the cover ups they've been subject to I would want everything to be open and transparent too. I wouldn't be waiting to see what agency/ organisation fucked me over with the information next

Adeleslostbeehive · 11/02/2016 12:19

Let's be honest, I think we all knew that someone as sick and twisted as him was going to do the worst things we can imagine. Is it really shocking and surprising she was raped? I think some posters claiming sensitivity when it's more about judgement and not wanting to think about it themselves. That's fine, but don't expect the world to help you hiding from life.

VagueIdeas · 11/02/2016 12:23

I think some posters claiming sensitivity when it's more about judgement and not wanting to think about it themselves.

Exactly. The reality is upsetting and sickening, but don't pretend you're taking the moral high ground when turning a blind eye. If you'd rather not know, that's fine, but you're not a better person because of it.

OP posts:
MissyMaker · 11/02/2016 12:28

Agree absolutely with Vague and Adele.

firefly78 · 11/02/2016 12:29

oh i wish i hadnt read that has made me cry. her poor family. that poor girl.

Helmetbymidnight · 11/02/2016 12:33

I don't think its generally appropriate to judge those who want details or those who don't.

HooseRice · 11/02/2016 12:39

I had an idea he was doing it for kicks before I read the bit about female officers. It is part of the script for monsters like him apparently.

The horror of losing a child under any circumstances is bad enough but time and time again Milly's family have had their noses rubbed in it (for want of a better expression) in the most callous of ways.

No one deserves the torture Milly's family have been through. Their poor, darling girl. I hope the family are receiving all the best of support possible.
