Mumsnetters Please keep your eyes and ears open - you might find something beneficial to her being found.

The express website is saying a body has been found on farmland, but it seems to be the only place reporting it.

Come on, you shouldn't be posting that here, ffs.

Ubik1 · 15/04/2015 21:50

I think The Express is just speculating. Like the ghoulish rag is is. No other outlet is reporting this line - and we know how ruthless they can be.

Thinking of her mother right now. Sad

Psipsina · 15/04/2015 21:51

I am so sorry.

Not on to post that stuff here.

Not.fucking.on.

Annunziata · 15/04/2015 21:56

You should be ashamed of yourself Brennie, a so called friend.

The family need supported with hope.

AgentCooper · 15/04/2015 21:56

The poor wee soul. My heart is aching for her mum and dad. I live near Sanctuary nightclub and have lived in Glasgow my whole life.

When I think of how I used to get irritated at my mum worrying about me when I'd go out for the night...I am praying for her poor, poor mum and dad.

Psipsina · 15/04/2015 21:57

I shouldn't think Brennie meant any harm. Go easy.

Weebirdie · 15/04/2015 21:59

I dont think she meant any harm either.

expatinscotland · 15/04/2015 21:59

'The family need supported with hope.'

Or respect for their privacy.

This is someone's child this has happened to.

Annunziata · 15/04/2015 22:00

Expat is right.

Psipsina · 15/04/2015 22:01

Of course but sometimes people don't think, and don't intend to cause harm.

BrennieGirl · 15/04/2015 22:02

Of course I didn't mean any harm. Get off your high horses.

My niece is with Karen's best friend right now. It's not speculation.

expatinscotland · 15/04/2015 22:03

Then report it. Because it's not on. No announcement has been made by the police and the person and her family deserve utmost respect for their privacy, not a load of gawking and speculation and appropriation of their situation.

Feenie · 15/04/2015 22:03

And sometimes people can't wait to be the first to post hearsay in their haste to let it be known they are In The Know.

expatinscotland · 15/04/2015 22:04

No one is on a high horse.

'It's not speculation.'

It is until it is announced, and, in the past, has got MN into legal trouble.

roughtyping · 15/04/2015 22:04

Ach feel bad for posting about the express now. Hope I didn't cause any offence. Hope her family are ok.

Feenie · 15/04/2015 22:05

Then think of your niece and her best friend, ffs - as if they would want you to post your ghoulish posts about the bell they must going through.

Ubik1 · 15/04/2015 22:07

I think we should just respect that everyone will be told at the proper time.

IonaMumsnet · 15/04/2015 22:17

Evening all. Just a reminder that this thread was started in the hope of creating publicity around the case in order to find Karen. At what appears to be a very sensitive time in the search for her we think it's best not to speculate, repeat information not yet in the public domain or get into a debate about the rights and wrongs of various posts. Our thoughts and hopes for a good outcome are with Karen's family and friends, as we know all yours are.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 15/04/2015 22:19

Thanks Iona

Teladi · 15/04/2015 22:24

Been thinking about Karen all day, and that map of her movements that has been being shared. I wrote a lengthy post about my own time as a student in Glasgow but really, it doesn't matter. Suffice it to say that I would imagine that many women with happy memories of living in Glasgow as a student has looked at that map today and thought 'What if...'

I'm praying for Karen's safe return and I hope it's not too late to hope for that. And my thoughts remain with her parents. I'm not that much older than Karen, and when I used to read about missing girls I used to think about me and my friends. Now I have a (v small) DD, and news stories like this just feel... different, now.
