Hi quietly .. There is a link to the fund from this rte site.

AmIthatHot · 16/04/2015 08:36

How awful, that poor girl and her poor family. Unbearably sad.

Mkz - WTAF, give it a rest would you.

blowinahoolie · 16/04/2015 08:41

"He is only 'detained'. He is not a confirmed suspect and tbh, HQ isn't usually too pleased when threads get speculative like this."

Agree. I think too many posters are making ridiculous statements they know nothing about. Surprised it's taken at least 8 pages before MNHQ has actually stepped in....Hmm

Justusemyname · 16/04/2015 08:42

Mkz has been obsessed With how the man detained looks from the get gonHmm.

Justusemyname · 16/04/2015 08:42

Get go

mkz10 · 16/04/2015 08:57

I know, I know, absolutely ! It totally rang untrue what he said, especially that her friends said it was so out of character.

I will ask to have my angry post deleted, I was so incensed for her, her family and her friends. Regrettably, her voice can now only be heard through her friends and family, she doesn't get the opportunity to contradict what has been said.

I chose to believe what they say about her, over some stranger.

mkz10 · 16/04/2015 09:00

edited to add...

Over some stranger who has been arrested on suspicion of her murder.

scarletforya · 16/04/2015 09:09

Just heard the news on the radio. This is so sad. Her poor, poor parents and brothers. It's just cruel.

RIP Karen. Flowers

mkz the thing you appear to most disturbed about regarding this case, is the suggestion that this woman may have gone back to the flat of a man who you deem to be ugly.

Your posts are vile, you have no idea what happened when she left that club, or under what circumstances she left. Your posts reek of 'ha, I knew it' and I really suggest that you stop now.

The whole thing is just awful, I just cannot imagine what her family are going through.

AmIthatHot · 16/04/2015 09:42

Sorry MKZ I didn't realise that you knew her.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 16/04/2015 09:43

The thing is, naturally the Police wil have to see him as a suspect. He confirmed he ws with her til 4am and they onlyhave his word that she left freely when he said she did. There is every possibility that she did leave then and was attacked by someone else.

Imagine being the last point of contact before something like this happens? Imagine everyone online spouting about ypu being a murderer. About how you must have done it because, frankly, look at the state of you - the only way you could get a woman would be to abduct/attack/merder her?

At the moment he is still presumed innocent. He is someones son. He could just be telling the truth.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 16/04/2015 09:44

Murder. Not merder.

mkz10 · 16/04/2015 09:46

AldiQ7. No, the thing I am most disturbed, angry and devastated about is that a young girl had her life cut short in the most violent way at the hands of a stranger. That her parents, her brothers, her family and friends have had to live through the horror of the past 5 days, something no one should ever have to endure and a future that will always be overshadowed by the unnecessary loss of her beautiful life.

RIP Karen Buckley.

scarletforya · 16/04/2015 09:47

It's just too soon to speculate on anything. I think it's just enough to say, we don't know anything. At all. Even the things which were initially accepted as true might not be at all. The 21 initially said she went home with him and was intimate with him consensualy. Now we don't know if that's true at all. We just have to wait for the police to do their work.

I hope that the legal process is good and the truth will out.

Meanwhile her poor family are in agony,

Redglitter · 16/04/2015 09:52

We don't actually have it confirmed WHO the 21 year old is. ok it's more than likely that it's the guy interviewed the other day but he has at least one flat mate. what's to say it's not someone else from the flat.

Despite what some posters think about his appearance she is seen on cctv getting into his car freely, she wasn't dragged kicking and screaming. Maybe she just wasn't as shallow as other people

mkz10 · 16/04/2015 10:02

I'm sorry, I am all fired up and gutted and I am firing up other people with my opinion. I understand where you are all coming from with regarding the legal due process.

AmIthatHot · 16/04/2015 10:06

No nothing confirmed. Incidentally nothing to indicate the man she left with was a stranger. She may have known him. It's all speculation.

I also can't believe the thankfully few posters claiming she wouldn't have gone with that lad willingly because of a photo they've seen.

This is a tragedy for her family, not an opportunity for some to play a smug "I knew it" and "he looked a right dodgy un". Pathetic

scarletforya · 16/04/2015 10:11

Ah, I didn't know about CCtv showing her getting into the car. For all we know he could have offered to run her to the banklink/Spar etc. But anyway now I'm speculating. That's the danger.

AyeAmarok · 16/04/2015 10:12

It really doesn't sit comfortably with me that the police released that statement about how "they became consensually intimate". I don't really see why that was necessary. Even if it was part of a strategy, I don't think they should have done that.

This has really upset me. How it really could happen to anyone out walking alone. Women really can be so vulnerable. Poor Karen, what an awful thing to go through, such a waste of a wonderful life, helping others, and this is done to her. And I feel sick thinking about her family, it's beyond awful. How can they ever cope with this?

Thanks for the link Meerkat, I'll be donating. Although it feels so pointless as I just don't see how anything can help her poor family, but hopefully it might make logistics or something easier. Oh it's so, so awful. How can people like this be living amongst us?
