...because, according to the news, her seperated parents can't give her the care that she needs. It so sad, I want to cry. Poor, poor Charlotte, poor, poor parents.

I'm sure she has BB

Jimjams2 · 16/10/2006 16:11

Great post bigbird.

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 16:12

secondchild, thankyou for explaining what you meant. What I think is that you have to be able to care for your child, I am not talking about needing respite care here. The Wyatts, particularly Mrs Wyatt are not doing anything and have put themselves into a situation where they are even more hampered by having yet more children.

Charelypops I am not your dear and your comments are laughable. If you want me to take heed of what you say in any shape or form then grow up and take part in this debate as an adult and not as a child trying to be funny, it doesn't work.

charleypopspreviouslyntt · 16/10/2006 16:12

Thanks Peachy - don't go to any trouble, but I'd love to know the full quote next time you come across it

PeachyBobbingParty · 16/10/2006 16:13

bigbird, and glad for your daughter.

I also think we can safely assume that teh Wyatts were in some level of denial? I certainly was for a long while, years.

I don't care if you do or don't kitty. You're not worth the time.

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 16:15

Saggarmakersbottom and then having gone through those horrors, being pushed to your limits you'd go and have more children,?

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 16/10/2006 16:16

When they were fighting to keep her alive they were together and probably thought they'd stay that way.

They possibly had other children expecting that Charlotte wouldn't make it. And why shouldn't they?

The DNR was never instigated AFAIK so if they were in this situation without the public fight would we think differently of them?

Maybe they made some bad decisions - not sure that I'd have done it any differently though.

Cat - hope you get your dd home very soon.

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 16:16

Fortunately for me charley that's only your opinion and not one that's worth a thought or consideration.

HumphreyComfreyCushion · 16/10/2006 16:17

Brilliant post, BigBird.

I'm so glad things worked out so well for your daughter, especially after such a traumatic start to her life.

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 16:18

Saggermaker, you seem to be a great optimist, me, I would call myself a realist.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 16/10/2006 16:18

Sorry kitty - missed your post - if you thought that child wasn't going to survive, maybe. Again they we together at that point and probably intended staying that way.

Thankfully dd was always going to be my last so it's a decision I didn't have to make.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 16/10/2006 16:19

lol I'm the worlds worst optimist!

mummylin2495 · 16/10/2006 16:20

kitty why do you think that other peoples opinions are not worth consideration is it because they dont agree with you ? Thats not very fair is is ,everyone is entitled to their opinion and thats what makes a great debate

hulababy · 16/10/2006 16:21

kitty - do you know the family? Do you know if and how often the mother and father visit Charlotte in hopital? Do you know whether they have fought to have her with them at home? Do you know that they don't care or don't want her?

diNOLOOKINGOVERYOURSHOULDERsau · 16/10/2006 16:22

I'm very uncomfortable with the idea that funding decisions should, amongst other things, depend on whether parents of a child with special needs have gone on to have more children.

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 16:28

Ok, if I'm being 'generous' I can see that that the first baby's conception a reaction to the possibility that Charlottl might not make it. Now the second baby?......

Also to all of you who maintain that the issue has to be about SN, well that is your perogative, andyou can make your points based on that stance. You have to understand that the points I,that is ME, not you, am making are based on the fact that it is NOT. So you cannot view my arguments in the context in which you wish to see them . If you do that then they are not my argumenys anymore and you are arguing with someone else, not me.
You need to look at them in the context in which they were made. The difference might be smnall, but it IS a crucial one. I do not wish to argue with anyone who attacks me based on the SN argument.

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 16:29

Hula, sorry, but do YOU?

hulababy · 16/10/2006 16:30

I don't see how this debate can be about anything other than SN. The whole thing has only come about because of harlotte's disabilities and her parents fight to keep her alive despite those disabilities. If Charlotte did not have those disabilities there would not be this situation at all.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 16/10/2006 16:31

Sorry I must have missed abit here.

What is it about other than her SN? If she was healthy and physically able she would be with her parents (or one of them) I assume? She's going to foster care because they are unable/unwilling to care for her because of her extra needs surely?

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 16:31

No mummylin, I consider most people's opinions very interesting. I do not consider someone who says this "Kitty, my dear you are so full of shit and so far up your own arse, I can't even be bothered to type out an balanced argument." Worth paying any attention to.

hulababy · 16/10/2006 16:31

No I don't Kitty. However, the comments you have made on occasion would suggest that you do know what the parents are like - not visiting, not wanting her, etc. yET, afaik THIS IS NOT WRITTEN IN THE MEDIA ARTICLES.

HauntedsandCastle · 16/10/2006 16:33

Hula, my thought's exactly. My 3.22pm post

"I disagree Kitty, it IS about special needs, because without Charlotte's special needs, there wouldn't BE an issue, would there?"
