Ronald OP (or RS) disabled the alarm, but when and why?

JodieGarberJacob · 13/04/2014 11:43

Regarding the stumps, unless he can balance really well I would have thought the aiming of the gun would be erratic to say the least once his finger was on the trigger.

ExcuseTypos · 13/04/2014 11:45

Iirc the disabler for the alarm was on a key fob. He says he must have disabled it when he carried Reeva downstairs, or it would ahve gone off when he left the bedroom.

HowAboutNo · 13/04/2014 11:47

Link to DM article where Reeva's sister is interviewed (as usual, apologies for DM article)

article

PD6966 · 13/04/2014 11:47

JGJ How is the aiming relevant now? He's admitted shooting and killing RS, now it's whether there was intent...

RonaldMcDonald · 13/04/2014 12:44

The last time he thought there was an intruder he woke his then girlfriend and asked her if she had heard anything
He then went downstairs to see for himself

Did he put on his prosthetics?
How did he feel he had time to do things differently on that occasion as the intruders could have been outside the bedroom door?

A number of times he thought he heard an intruder. Each time he armed himself and went toward the danger. Does this show intent? Was he simply waiting for an opportunity to use his gun on a human?
Does taking the safety off prove intent?
Does pulling the trigger 4 times prove intent?

OneStepCloser · 13/04/2014 12:54

Anyone like to hazard a guess at what could be bought up in defence? Apart from feeling vulnerable, which would be difficult seen as he's been somewhat lax in security I can't think what could be said?

Is it possible to find him guilty of murder for 3 final shots?

First shot - believed was intruder but cannot believe that Reeva kept silent after being shot in the hip - but he still fired 3 more?

AnyaKnowIt · 13/04/2014 13:02

It doesn't matter how many shots he fired. He shot through a lock door to an enclosed space.its murder.

OneStepCloser · 13/04/2014 13:14

Ronald there is a picture of Reeva in that link that people may not want to see.

Sorry, but just trying to warn others.

BookABooSue · 13/04/2014 13:19

I think Reeva probably did scream but he didn't hear her. However, I don't think that will impact on whether he's found guilty of murder or not. He fired 4 shots into an enclosed space where he thought (or knew depending on your viewpoint) there was a person. I just can't see how that isn't murder. Unless he had said he didn't think the bullets would penetrate the door but he's never used that as a defence and the Sky news video showed that he knew the damage the bullets could inflict.

HowAboutNo · 13/04/2014 13:20

Great link Ronald a good recap.

Still don't know what I think. This thread has been useful to read as everyone I know in RL says OP is guilty and that's that.

RonaldMcDonald · 13/04/2014 13:24

I actually never read to the bottom of the article. I've just taken a look.

Apologies.

Please don't go near the bottom of the article but do read the stuff regarding his bedroom door ( why would they put that dreadful photograph in there?)

Did she lock him out of the bedroom?
Then retreat to the toilet as next lockable door?

SauceForTheGander · 13/04/2014 13:26

Anya I agree with that. I think he knew it was her and the number of shots aren't relevant to me. But I wondered if people who accept the possible intruder explanation can acknowledge this is only a defense for one shot. The further 3 shots are premeditated murder.

I'm not explaining myself well.

SauceForTheGander · 13/04/2014 13:27

Ronald the damage to the bedroom door looks so suspicious.

Oh god, poor poor Reeva. Sad

Bonnielangbird · 13/04/2014 13:30

So could he have shouted help 3 times because he was locked in the bedroom? Still struggling re Michelle Burger evidence but could that make more sense of it?

ronald any way you can copy and paste just the words re bedroom in that article as I don't want to see the graphic photos?

Bonnielangbird · 13/04/2014 13:31

Why wouldn't the bedroom door have been mentioned in court yet though, or has it?

RonaldMcDonald · 13/04/2014 13:37

He first opened his bedroom door then he went and opened the front door. He ran back up to his room. On the way in to his room he tried to force open the door. He explains to the Judge that the door to his bedroom is a double door. The main door locks with a key and the other door has a latch at the top and bottom. He “ran in to the door and it didn’t break open.” So he reached down and unlatched the latch and it opened. Here is how the door was found by crime scene investigators.

Aventurine · 13/04/2014 13:39

What do they mean in that article about it looking suspicious to have tape, rope and plastic bags on a murder scene and Oscar not wanting to admit responsibility for them?

RonaldMcDonald · 13/04/2014 13:39

RonaldMcDonald · 13/04/2014 13:42

I think OP could have grabbed anything. That might have been at hand? If he was trying to get something to stop bleeding.

I don't know?
I thought neat freak? In shock it overrode sense?

Bonnielangbird · 13/04/2014 13:43

Wouldn't she have phoned someone if they were at the stage of her listening to him breaking down the door though?

Bonnielangbird · 13/04/2014 13:46

And thanks for posting ronald, although I'm not sure I totally follow why he would rush at a door instead of just opening it to start with.

RonaldMcDonald · 13/04/2014 13:49

I don't know
I don't know how long this took

Could he have been screaming
Get out of my house, get out of my house
Whilst breaking down the door?

That doesn't fit re his prosthetics though. He would have been too unstable to do so without them?
Why do it though?

Wasn't there also supposed to be what looked like a gunshot through the bedroom door?
