Aventurine - Yes letting air in is normal. But in the middle of the night?

winkywinkola · 10/04/2014 13:31

I don't get it.

He says he heard a window slide open on the bathroom. Good hearing for a small sound.

Says he shouted for Reeva to get down off bed. If she were in the bathroom for a tinkle, she would have shouted that. He, with his already proven excellent hearing, would have heard that.

She was hiding from him.

AfricanExport · 10/04/2014 13:32

louisebrooks. There are so so many cases of absolute horror. It's not even funny.

It is so bad there ae those that would call it genocide. Sad

SirChenjin · 10/04/2014 13:35

She was hiding from him

That's what I've started wondering in the last few hours after hearing his testimony today and yesterday.

Roussette · 10/04/2014 13:36

Well, he has just testified that he was feet away from Reeva when she went to the loo and he didn't hear a thing. Yet he hears a bathroom window far further away.

LouiseBrooks · 10/04/2014 13:38

Bonnielangbird, thanks. I'm not really keeping quiet. Smile

Bonnielangbird · 10/04/2014 13:39

If she was so scared as to actually go and hide from him in the toilet, wouldn't she also phone or text someone? If I was that terrified I'm sure I would phone someone or text someone or do something other than just hide? Or is it thought that there wasn't time for that?

HowAboutNo · 10/04/2014 13:40

Nel is good at what he does. I wondered if the justice system would be shaky, but it's been solid so far... Apart from the police investigation. But the SA court system seems pretty good.

StackALee · 10/04/2014 13:40

The picture they have just shown, with the fan by the window... that was where the fan was when they did the crime scene photos, completely blocking his way?

AnyaKnowIt · 10/04/2014 13:42

Yep, they would have blocked his way.

AnyaKnowIt · 10/04/2014 13:43

Now Oscar is saying that the police must have moved the fan

Grennie · 10/04/2014 13:44

Bonnie - No I can see her hiding to stop him hitting her, but not being so frightened that she thinks she needs to call the police.

OneStepCloser · 10/04/2014 13:44

Sometimes people just walk away to stop the shouting, argument etc..

colincaterpillar · 10/04/2014 13:45

When staying somewhere unfamiliar & feeling uncomfortable (not necessarily threatened, but not right), I've cracked open a window for fresh air.

I also would take my phone when spending the night with a boyfriend because a) as a torch (not necessarily torch app on iPhone but at least the screen to guide way) and b) privacy - in a short term relationship, I wouldn't trust them not to read through it and even with nothing to hide wouldn't want them going through it (e.g. lame texts to my friends about dates with said man analyzing whether said genetleman was into me or whether I was into them).

But winky's theory fits too.

I'm finding it hard to get an idea of comfort in their relationship. I've had an abusive ex I felt uncomfortable with at best and then utterly scared of in the end so can relate to the hide-in-the-bathroom feeling. But also have been in relationships at 3 months where the fella was lovely, but in terms of announcing I was going to the loo, leaving my phone with him, we weren't 'there' yet.

shoppingbagsundereyes · 10/04/2014 13:46

I'm really shocked at how small the bedroom was. Just seen a photo for The first time. I cannot see how his version of events could be possible in such a sized room. I had assumed it was massive and therefore it was feasible that he could be by the balcony and not know whether or not she got out of bed. I now cannot believe that could possibly be true.
I think this is going to come down to not whether or not the judge believes he is guilty but whether the prosecution is going to be able to prove it beyond reasonable doubt.

LouiseBrooks · 10/04/2014 13:46

"If she was so scared as to actually go and hide from him in the toilet, wouldn't she also phone or text someone? "

That is one of the theories behind her taking the phone. As I pointed out, phone record appear to show she didn't try to phone anyone. The whole question, as I said yesterday, is would she have had time to dial before OP got there. bearing in mind he doesn't have his legs on? Does anyone still think he did have his legs on when he shot her?

colincaterpillar · 10/04/2014 13:47

I have hid from an ex before and literally run away from him, I was scared. I never phoned or texted anyone in that moment.

FloralPuddles · 10/04/2014 13:48

If the police moved the fan and everything else that Oscar claims, they moved it and placed it in such a way that looks a normal set up in any bedroom worldwide. It looks perfectly placed to be doing its "job."

Or is Oscar going to blame Roux again soon? ;)

Op is coming across very, very unreliable - when he remembers anything that is ;)

JillJ72 · 10/04/2014 13:49

I'm not listening. I take it he has got Frescoesque memory then...

OP posts:
eddiemairswife · 10/04/2014 13:51

IF they had a blazing row and she ran to the toilet in fear she may not have time to text or ring someone.

AnyaKnowIt · 10/04/2014 13:56

So its just been pointed out that Oscar didn't say anything about the fan being moved ib the photo he was shown yesterday.

FloralPuddles · 10/04/2014 13:57

Nel is fantastic, I'd want him on my side!

He is now asking Op why he did not mention the fan placement yesterday, Oscar is "not sure."

Nel is now pointing out that the length of the fan cord will not reach to wear Oscar is saying he placed the fan. Oscar is arguing this point with reference to all the diff photos. He's quite animated.

HowAboutNo · 10/04/2014 13:57

He argument is starting to look really flawed re: the fans etc

Floralnomad · 10/04/2014 13:57

Why don't they just recreate this room and check about the fan and the cables . If the multi plug moved and the police then moved the fan back the multi plug would not have moved back to that position it would have stayed nearer the end of the bed .

StackALee · 10/04/2014 13:58

so... they surely will bring the extension cord (Multi-plug) in as a piece of evidence.
