You can see the plug and cord could still move easily tho.... Op is right

FloralPuddles · 10/04/2014 13:59

I understand now the groundwork Nel did yesterday with the fans, Oscar is coming across terribly.

StackALee · 10/04/2014 13:59

sorry to be a dunce but the fans are important why? Because of the way he has moved around the room in his evidence?

FloralPuddles · 10/04/2014 14:00

Nel has just spotted that the fan cord is under the speaker, Oscar abruptly tells him that he is misleading the court.

StackALee · 10/04/2014 14:00

Could be moved and still be operating?

HowAboutNo · 10/04/2014 14:00

Does anyone know why they finish at 3pm everyday? Is this just how it's done in SA? Seems like they could cover more ground if they did an extra hour or so

ExcuseTypos · 10/04/2014 14:01

I agree about the recreating the room. It seems mad not to.

There are photos which prove the police moved things, so it's not that much of a stretch to say the police moved the fans and duvet.

LouiseBrooks · 10/04/2014 14:02

"Why don't they just recreate this room and check about the fan and the cables "

That makes total sense. AFter all, they recreated the loo actually in the courtroom.

GoshAnneGorilla · 10/04/2014 14:04

Hmm. The problem is the crime scene was tampered with. We know things were moved and things were stolen.

But I don't know how he didn't hear her get out of bed. That's what I struggle with.

Fleta · 10/04/2014 14:04

"Why have you never told Reeva Steenkamp you loved her?"

Bizarre question. Maybe he didn't. Wouldn't be unusual at that stage in the relationship

Pennies · 10/04/2014 14:04

My DH has told me that he has found my attempts at accents (I was trying out my SA accent) annoying and to not do it. He has also told me not to chew gum. He has also been filmed / photographed firing a shotgun, a rifle and a 9mm pistol.

He is absolutely the most mild mannered, gentle man on the planet. He is not controlling, abusive or trigger happy in the slightest.

It is easy to make the most saintly person look like a shit if you need to. Doesn't mean they are though.

Fleta · 10/04/2014 14:06

I must be completely honest here that I'm finding it utterly impossible to be neutral about this. I'm finding hard to differentiate between the man I've admired and found attractive for years, with a murder suspect. And I still admire his previous achievements and still find him attractive.

AmIthatSpringy · 10/04/2014 14:06

I've only caught snippets today. I'm revolving into fence again. I actually think OP is an excellent prosecution witness. I too don't understand why he didn't just plead guilty to the two gun charges

I wonder what barry roux is thinking right now

AmIthatSpringy · 10/04/2014 14:08

stack. I think the fans are so important because that was his reason for getting up

If the fans are not working or not in the right place then the inference is he made it all up

colincaterpillar · 10/04/2014 14:10

fleta I agree with you there. I've had relationships where the L word wasn't exchanged at that stage.

I also struggle to comprehend how he didn't realize she'd gotten out of bed. Generally you'd be aware of that kind of thing, and I also think in a new relationship, are you not generally very aware of each other's presence? That might just be me though.

pennies well you are here still and we will know the thread to point your DHs defence toward should he need ;)

FloralPuddles · 10/04/2014 14:11

Haha thank goodness you're not the Judge Fleta, if he was ugly then he would be more like a murder suspect??

Is that similar to convicting people based on their eyebrows being to close together? Hmm

Joules68 · 10/04/2014 14:12

What was actually stolen?

FreeLikeABird · 10/04/2014 14:13

But if Reeva ran away to shut herself in the toilet after an argument like nel is saying, why did she stop to open the bathroom window on her way? Surly if they had an argument and she ran out the bedroom screaming (what nel said) she wouldn't have stopped to open the main bathroom window first?

Op said he is the same height as the fans with out his prosthetics on, he said the fan was blowing in his face when he moved them IF Reeva had got out of bed at this time I can see why he didn't hear her leave the bedroom, you can't hear a lot when a fan is blowing in your face.

StackALee · 10/04/2014 14:13

"I must be completely honest here that I'm finding it utterly impossible to be neutral about this. I'm finding hard to differentiate between the man I've admired and found attractive for years, with a murder suspect"

apart from his appearance at the Olympics he never crossed my radar at all.

The first day he did all his crying I started to sway from the 'possibility guilty' to 'not sounding guilty to me'. Now I have been following the recent court appearance and listening to the evidence I am thinking' inconsistent stories which make no sense - possibly guilty again'.

I am sure when the defence get back up I will be swayed again.

One thing I didn't have was preconceived ideas of him as a person.

StackALee · 10/04/2014 14:15

"why did she stop to open the bathroom window on her way?"

what evidence is there that she opened the windows?

StackALee · 10/04/2014 14:16

can someone direct me to something somewhere that explains the whole fan thing? As in a timeline (His story)?

Fleta · 10/04/2014 14:18

*Haha thank goodness you're not the Judge Fleta, if he was ugly then he would be more like a murder suspect??

Not at all. Just explaining why I - as an outsider - don't have a neutral viewpoint. Did I actually say he should be "let off" because he's hot which is what you're implying? I think its a reasonable position to have a preconceived notion of a celebrity.

If he has done it, he should be found guilty.

AnyaKnowIt · 10/04/2014 14:19

There has just been an interview on sky news with a SA lawyer.

He was saying under SA law you can use a gun to shoot if there is a unlawful attack on you, or you are trying to escape. He also questioned when Oscar when from defending himself to turning into the attacker.

colincaterpillar · 10/04/2014 14:19

fleta it is hard. I teach a disability studies lecture and used to use OP as an example to illustrate the social model and have changed my lecture as a consequence of this. I did find him attractive too...and am not entirely switched off to that, I remind myself what has happened because it feels inappropriate somehow. But then I never stopped finding my abusive ex attractive and in all honesty, still haven't Blush. All that makes me feel for his family - how do you reconcile someone you love with this?

FreeLikeABird · 10/04/2014 14:21

What evidence is there saying, she didn't open the window?
