""so even at night and at home, OP covered his prosthetic legs""

All I think it means is that he saw the legs as just another item of clothing to put on. After all, they are not body parts. they are attachments.

I feel like today is going nowhere

Roussette · 11/04/2014 11:19

I think it's a really interesting part of the questioning at the moment. It's what we've all been saying. Why didn't he check Reeva was there/ok before he rushed towards the danger with the safety catch off his gun.

Rosie70 · 11/04/2014 11:19

Does anyone know if I can listen to the trial live on radio? About to go on a 2 hour car journey. Thanks

AnyaKnowIt · 11/04/2014 11:21

I think nel is doing a good job

HowAboutNo · 11/04/2014 11:22

For me, this part is (again) proving negligence, not murder

AnyaKnowIt · 11/04/2014 11:24

I think nel is trying to prove that he armed himself the when looking for confrontation = murder

HowAboutNo · 11/04/2014 11:26

I don't know why, but today I just feel really differently about it... I think it was probably a mistake. I think he was just grossly negligent

diagram of the room where you can see the bedroom door is nearer than the bathroom

Oscar Pistorius trial part 2
HowAboutNo · 11/04/2014 11:30

I think, looking at the diagram, I don't know why he went into the bathroom, round the corner if he thought there was danger. It seems like a very stupid thing to do. Would have made sense to wait at the end of the passage with the gun, shouting a warning that you would shoot if they rounded the corner

AnyaKnowIt · 11/04/2014 11:32

Op has just said that he went to the bathroom to confront the intruders. That's his personality.

OneStepCloser · 11/04/2014 11:36

He says he heard the door either slam close or kick the door closed, I find that odd that Reeva would close a door with such force.

member · 11/04/2014 11:37

Therefore if he went towards the bathroom, gun in hand, safety mechanism off he was ready to shoot/wanted to shoot. If protection of Reeva was the motivation, would have gone out of the bedroom to get away from danger. The prime motivation was not safety of Reeva.

OneStepCloser · 11/04/2014 11:39

I do get that he went towards trouble with a gun, I get that, I think that can be a natural reaction, but I cannot get shooting four times at a closed door, I cant get that at all.

HowAboutNo · 11/04/2014 11:39

But it's strange, that he's vulnerable on his stumps, that he would go towards the danger - rounding a corner. He cannot see what danger is around that corner. Gun or no gun, if he's on his stumps and someone is around that corner, he's entering grave danger. I just don't understand why he did that.

OneStepCloser · 11/04/2014 11:40

He nows the toilets small, he must have known the damage that shooting four times would do.

AnyaKnowIt · 11/04/2014 11:40

Avoiding the answer there

OneStepCloser · 11/04/2014 11:43

It does seem odd that he was so careful going down the passge and taking his time to see there was no one there, and then shooting willfully at a door, that doesnt add up.

if he had run madly down the corridor, yes, but cautious then madly? He was considered in his initial approach.

AnyaKnowIt · 11/04/2014 11:44

Didn't op earlier say that he struggled to walk on tiles on his stumps?

member · 11/04/2014 11:45

Yes

OneStepCloser · 11/04/2014 11:45

When he was shouting to Reeva, you would think one of the words he would have used was toilet?

HowAboutNo · 11/04/2014 11:46

I find it hard to understand why she didn't respond when he screamed at the door, or did he not give her time?

AnyaKnowIt · 11/04/2014 11:46

But he went to confronted the intruder on his stumps?

HowAboutNo · 11/04/2014 11:47

Close family friend of Reeva shaking her head at OP's assertion that Reeva wouldn't have made a noise

OneStepCloser · 11/04/2014 11:48

Why doesnt he ask what he shouted?
