OO it isn't just this nickname, it's the whole thread which is so nasty. Almost every single post. I genuinely don't understand how people can feel such strong hatred toward another woman who hasn't killed or tortured anyone.

The are a woman and man who are splitting up. It's tough and painful for anyone.

I could never understand why people hated Linda either. Of course everyone changed their tune when she got cancer. Perhaps no-one will be happy until Heather becomes terminally ill.

doobydoo · 17/05/2006 13:54

Agree with lots of the cmments..but don't think she is mad..more like pretty darn clever to have married someone with so much dosh9i don't know how she managed that con0it was patently obvious that it would not last. She needs good PR as she dosen't come across at all well and sounds tres preachy like Bono and Geldof.and what is it with older men and younger women..the men seem to end up with aubergine coloured hair,i have seen it in non celebs tooGrin

spidermama · 17/05/2006 13:58

There seem to be certain women who others think it's fine to hate, for no apparent reason. I've never been in on the joke. Indeed I've always felt deeply uncomfortable with it.

I'm talking about Linda MacCartney, Paula Yates, Princess Di had a bit of this coming at her too, and now Heather is the one to hate.

I wish I understood it, I really do.

arfy · 17/05/2006 14:01

don't mind any of those others Spidermama (you could add Cherie Blair to the list of people it's 'OK to hate' as well), and actually there's very few people I can't stand - and I can't really analyse it either, I know it seem irrational. Heather Mills McCartney and Gwyneth Paltrow, think that's about it for my betes noires.

I think you must be a much nicer person than me Smile

spidermama · 17/05/2006 14:02

I don't know Arfy. I'd happily give Carol Vordeman a Chinese burn. Grin

Northerner · 17/05/2006 14:03

Hmmmm, I'm not sure what to amke of Lady Heather. Saw that documentary that aid she made up her modelling career, apparantly there are no professional modelling pic's of Heather pre her accident.

And I think she set her sights on Macca from day 1.

Stella will be putting the flags out today.

arfy · 17/05/2006 14:04

lol spidermama. she is quite annoying too.

niceglasses · 17/05/2006 14:05

Yep, none of your others incurred my hatered either. I wouldn't even say I hated HMM. I just hate the 'its the press' line. I find it hard to feel sorry for them for that - lots of pple struggle through grtr problems. They want it when they want it, and blame it when they don't.

I don't think anyone would wish a break up on anyone, of course not, it sad. But the discussion on here will only be reflecting many more going on in offices all over the country.

oliveoil · 17/05/2006 14:06

Natasha Kaplinsky is surely on the list too?

arfy · 17/05/2006 14:10

well yes, obviously Grin

donnie · 17/05/2006 14:10

I thought Linda McCartney was quite well liked wasn't she?
the thing about Heather Mills is that most of what she says about her life seems to be either embellished or completely invented although of course maybe that is incorrect too.

alexsmum · 17/05/2006 14:11

well i don't have an opinion on heather mills mccartney, but i LOATHE paul mccartney.abso-fing-lutely loathe the man.
' oh linda is my soulmate, she's my life etcetc' two minutes after she dies he's marrying some other bint.she wasn't cold in her grave for gods sake.i hope she comes back and haunts him.

niceglasses · 17/05/2006 14:11

yeah I really like Linda Mc tbh. Some of her photos were really fab..........I never thought it true that pple only liked her once she was ill.

alexsmum · 17/05/2006 14:12

by the way is it natasha kaplinsky who does breakfast tv on the bbc? is she up the duff?

alexsmum · 17/05/2006 14:12

linda mccartneys singing was bloody awful though

spidermama · 17/05/2006 14:13

Yes she is OO. She may wear far too much make up, but there are much worse people than her.

I think people who slag off the line about the press really don't understand what it's like to be so much in the public eye. We can't possibly imagine how that would feel day after day.

How many of you have actually seen or heard a paparazzi pack in action? It's very nasty.

BagelBird · 17/05/2006 14:16

I met her once on Esther Rantsen show about two years before she marries him (long boring story) and she was very snobby - she also had rather unpleasant dirty grey bra straps which she kept hoisting under a startlingly tarty bright red dress... She had a lovely dog (in dressing room celeb stlye) though :)

Orlando · 17/05/2006 14:16

She is the ONLY person I have ever taken such a strong and instinctive aversion to-- and her gender has nothing to do with it. She has an underlying aggression which I think most people pick up on, maybe even subconsciously, and deeply mistrust. Combine this with an extremely open relationship with the truth and a ruthless drive for self-promotion, and you have a fairly obnoxious package. As I think is reflected here Grin

puddle · 17/05/2006 14:17

Linda was totally villified when she was in wings (for good reason some may say who heard her 'singing') and Linda and Yoko were both blamed for splitting up the Beatles. They were both hated for years.

I think a similar thing has happened to HMM - she also hasn't trotted around after Macca but has her own agenda and causes (albeit some slightly bonkers ones).

niceglasses · 17/05/2006 14:19

Er, no I guess not, not likely to either. Just think its a bit weak. I don't honestly think they can blame the break up of their marriage on that. However, I wouldn't know. I'm just making a point - they seem to enjoy the press attention when it suits them.

alexsmum · 17/05/2006 14:20

puddle have you heard the song called ' be my yoko ono' by the bare naked ladies? hilarious.

puddle · 17/05/2006 14:22

I just think that Macca is Beyond Criticism, being an ex Beatle. No-one would be good enough for him (except perhaps if he reunited with Jane Asher....)

arfy · 17/05/2006 14:22

I really am no fan of the press and paparazzi, and I do think they can be pretty horrible, and I would hate to be followed by them myself. It's unforgiveable the way some of them behave, and obviously the public's (i.e. us - an I'm guilty of it too) greed for gossip that means it's worth the paps behaving like that to get photos/stories.

But I think there are plenty of people who manage to maintain sensible levels of celebrity and also family life/relationships. Some people are unfairly pursued and hassled, but some seem to actively court publicity in quite an agreesive/needy manner (HMM, Posh Spice) along with others who reveal every detail of their life to the public. It then seems a bit much to whine about constant media intrusion. There are so many slebs who seem to manage just fine.

overdraft · 17/05/2006 14:23

just got my first text joke about her.Didn't take long did it?

Orlando · 17/05/2006 14:24

excellent song, alexsmum.

They also did one called Enid, by the way...
