I think she missed the point somewhat. It's not the sweets we really need to worry about - at least we know what they are! It's all the hidden sugars/sweeteners in things like cornflakes/other cereals/ready meals that are quite astounding.

'No Darling you can't have that delicious caramel bar but here, have a carrot as it's full of beta carotine and will keep you regular'

I do remember once though, many moons ago, when she did an article whereby she had a danish pastry at a friend's house and 'instead of eating half, I had the whole one and had to lie down in the afternoon' .
