What punishment do you think the British legal system would deem appropriate for someone who rapes a 5 year old?

I'm not going to link because I saw this in the Daily Mail. But, really, am truly horrified.

"Seeker put yourself in mine and Couthy and the others who've posted about our experiences can't you see our point of view then."

Yes I can. I said I could. And I said that if my child was a victim, and probably if I was I'd feel the same. That's why I keep saying that victims should not be part of the judicial process.

pumpkinsweetie · 05/07/2012 12:46

I agree with Couthy, at a young age you 'know' you are gay, straight, bisexual so if you have a sexual interest in little girls at 14yo nothing is going to change it iyswim.
He will always be a peadophile, which is completey vile so he needs locking up for the sake of children worldwide, as his feelings will not stop and he will reoffend as he fancys little girls

seeker · 05/07/2012 12:47

So anyone who experiments with gay sex at 14 is gay for life?

dottyspotty2 · 05/07/2012 12:47

Seeker I missed that I apologise.

Birdsgottafly · 05/07/2012 12:49

There, as yet isn't any evidence that he is a peodophile, he is at this stage a sex offender.

That is why i think that the monitoring isn't going to go on for long enough. It is to lenient in the time span of what has been ordered.

CouthyMow · 05/07/2012 12:50

But they AREN'T addressed in the most effective way, that prevents any more victims, are they, Birds?

Because locking the Paedophile in isolation IS the most effective way to prevent any more victims. They would be unable to reoffend in a locked room with no children in it, would they?!

Anything else leaves the safety of children to CHANCE, and do-goodery intentions of rehabilitating something that CAN'T BE REHABILITATED. Because it is a sexual orientation, just ask CEOPS and some of the stuff they have seen.

dottyspotty2 · 05/07/2012 12:51

Birds he abused a little defenseless girl not someone his own age a sex offender who is interested in prepubesent children or under 13 are paedophiles that is why it is a much higher sentence.

CouthyMow · 05/07/2012 12:52

HE IS A PAEDOPHILE. HE CARRIED OUT AN ORAL RAPE ON A CHILD MUCH YOUNGER THAN HIM.

CouthyMow · 05/07/2012 12:52

ONE WHO WAS UNABLE TO GIVE INFORMED CONSENT - OR ANY CONSENT AT ALL DUE TO HER YOUNG AGE - TO THE RAPE COMMITED.

CouthyMow · 05/07/2012 12:53

And how many other peopleare worried about the fact that his mother was a childminder, presumably having looked after other dc, some too young to talk?

CouthyMow · 05/07/2012 12:54

Cos I bloody AM. Who'se to say this WAS his first offence. It was more than likely the first offence he was CAUGHT FOR.

dottyspotty2 · 05/07/2012 12:55

Let's move him and his family next door to these apologists who think he's only a child Couthy.

FrothyOM · 05/07/2012 12:55

I agree with dottyspotty and couthy - child sex abuse is a massive problem and it can ruin a persons mental health way into adulthood. The only way to ensure they don't reoffend is to lock them away for life.

CouthyMow · 05/07/2012 12:55

Statistics compiled by the probation office show that the majority of paedophiles commited their first sexual act on a younger child when they were under 16yo, and committed in the region of 10 or more assaults BEFORE their first conviction.

CouthyMow · 05/07/2012 12:56

Still think he can be 'rehabilitated'? Still think he is a 'victim'? Still think he is 'just a child'?

dottyspotty2 · 05/07/2012 12:57

Couthy I've said that all along apperaing in his school uniform to make him look an innocent boy.

CouthyMow · 05/07/2012 12:57

Or just a young paedophile?

CouthyMow · 05/07/2012 12:58

And those results were from an anonymous survey of people on the sex offender's register for offences against children.

seeker · 05/07/2012 12:59

There's is a lot of ground between being an apologist and not thinking that locking him for ever is the right way forward. But it's no point having the discussion, because people respond to what they think they are reading or want to read, not what is actually being said.

dottyspotty2 · 05/07/2012 13:00

I've only found out a lot of this out over the last 9 months due to massive trauma after disclosing to police

pumpkinsweetie · 05/07/2012 13:01

Exactly what Couthy said, what about the children he has been in contact with that CANT SPEAK as his mum was a childminder???
What GOOD is it letting him free, as he will be free to rape again maybe next time even worse

dottyspotty2 · 05/07/2012 13:03

So seeker you'd be happy for him to live next door would you ?

FrothyOM · 05/07/2012 13:04

I read he performed a sex act on a 4 yo. It is highly likely he is a paedophile, and if he isn't -tough! I would rather he be locked away for life than another child be traumatised for life.

curiousgeorgie · 05/07/2012 13:04

This same judge sentenced a police officer to three and a half years for text stalking someone.

So... Raping a child isn't quite as bad as texting.

dottyspotty2 · 05/07/2012 13:04

Just told DH he's just as sickened as I am we are both survivvors of childhood abuse as he said the criminals have more rights in this country.
