There are lots of unique problems with the United States but unemployment and immigration are experienced by the majority of developed nations.

That's a good one. '2 places at Eton would only have cost him around 70k a year.'

Mamma almost 5% of workers in the USA are illegals (pew report) and according the the NY Times illegal workers number around 11-12 million.

MiniTheMinx · 09/06/2012 22:20

Who's that women, do you mean the commoner that he had the misfortune to marry. How wicked.

Well, I suppose we'll take Ian Duncan's smiths advice eventaully "Get on ya bike" anyone here tried cycling to south east Asia?

Mini why not try it. It's a great idea for people to learn an asian language and look to the future possibilities there. These economies are surging and the right people could find great success there.

NicholasTeakozy, it's like a walk in the park, just chilling with fellow lefties, the trolls Tories are here for entertainment. Still awaiting facts, really interested to see what material difference they made to the lives of working people last time they were in office.

MiniTheMinx · 09/06/2012 22:25

NO, doesn't appeal, I'm thinking about North Korea.

MammaBrussels · 09/06/2012 22:26

You do realise that labour is not homogenous? Take 12.7 million out of the country and all of a sudden there's no unemployment? No, not everyone of those 12 million will want to take on low pay jobs in different states.

Also, it's not a proportional impact - remove 8% of your workforce and you won't need as many workers so there will be fewer vacancies IYSWIM.

Mamm I know as the feckless are happy to live on welfare so we need to bring in people willing to work and the rest have to be taxed to high heaven to pay the feckless so sit around.

Thanks for proving my point

MiniTheMinx · 09/06/2012 22:30

The USA have been in steady decline for years they just refuse to accept it. The American Dream is a mirage, they have bankrupt states, murders at walmart and half the black population in some areas living in shacks, parents eating rats and their kids too poor to attend school but still they barge into Iraq with 30 CEOs in tow to privatise water, electricity etc. Like they have set a brilliant example of how unfettered capitalism improves lives.

NovackNGood · 09/06/2012 22:32

Well we can thank labour for the mess in Iraq can't we.

BananaGio · 09/06/2012 22:32

Please hurry up with the facts! I keep eating Ikea ginger biscuits to pass the time while I am waiting and I really need to stop!

LineRunner · 09/06/2012 22:33

Like a bridge
Over troubled tories

MiniTheMinx · 09/06/2012 22:40

There is little real difference btw the three major parties, time for something different perhaps. Pass the Ginger nuts, must share Wink

MammaBrussels · 09/06/2012 22:42

Not really Novack. If you're an unemployed logger from Alaska you're not going to want to move to New York to work in a massage parlour are you? So will deporting illegal workers reduce unemployment? No because humans are not perfect substitutes.

Point two - simple economics take 8% of the working population and their earnings out of the economy and the level of total demand ( aggregate demand) in the economy falls. As demand for labour is what's called a derived demand (google or ask later otherwise this post will be mammoth) demand for labour will fall. By deporting 12 million you don't create 12 million jobs so there won't be 0% unemployment. I didn't say anything about fecklessness. I just don't think you understand what causes unemployment

A little light relief for Novack. And her fellow truth deniers.

NovackNGood · 09/06/2012 22:48

Nicholas ...Ad hominem.

BananaGio · 09/06/2012 22:48

Sorry finished them mini Grin. Mmm what can I do to pass the time now while waiting? Totally agree mini, not much to choose between them. Iraq was unforgivable from labour.

NovackNGood · 09/06/2012 22:50

I notice you skipped over the truth that is was Labour who went off invading Iraq and Afghanistan.

MammaBrussels · 09/06/2012 22:52

I missed the news reports of Tony invading Iraq Novack Grin.

OP posts:
MammaBrussels · 09/06/2012 22:54

No. You're right Labour invaded Iraq despite enormous condemnation from the opposition. Oh wait a minute...

OP posts:
BananaGio · 09/06/2012 22:55

I said I found it unforgivable Novack. Don't know what else I can say about it. I disagreed with it on all levels.
