Short version here I'll have a dig for more details. Oh happy day! :o

To be fair they're probably all keeping quiet because they don't want to embarrass her.

She said she felt awful when Murdoch was asked what was his priority and he said she was.

Mind you, I'd rather that than Elisabeth Murdoch allegedly shrieking: 'she's fucked the company.' Grin

Pooka · 15/05/2012 17:26

Witchhunt?
Respect for justice system?

Can't believe they're saying this tbh. On radio 4 just now.

Will look forward to details of the case emerging Hmm

yes Greythorne, it was an interesting choice of vocabulary. At no point did RB say 'I fully reject/deny all the charges' or similar.

Hmmmm (strokes beard in contemplative fashion)

NicholasTeakozy · 15/05/2012 17:39

Thanks for the link Jaqueline, that's a vile headline and it serves as a reminder of why I don't buy any Murdoch products.

tiredemma · 15/05/2012 17:39

She is a disgusting vile creature. The 'Bonkers Bruno' story is just as much as you could expect from her and the her fellow shit smearing cronies.

PostBellumBugsy · 15/05/2012 17:47

She is a product of our collective, insatiable appetite to know about people's private lives. Sadly, dishing the dirt sells papers and at the end of the day, the media is big business. Murdoch wasn't in it just because he liked the news - he was in it to make money - lots of it. I'm presuming he appointed RB because he thought she would sell lots of papers for him & that is exactly what she did - because "we" all bought them. Makes me a bit sad.

donnie · 15/05/2012 17:49

I never bought any of them . There are many of us who have been criticising the Murdoch empire for years and years. I have always boycotted it.

DashingRedhead · 15/05/2012 17:55

They all are though. Rupert Murdoch is a disgusting byproduct of unregulated power and like calls to like. I don't buy any Murdoch products either Teakozy.

Nemesis. And they richly deserve it. I am in great hopes that we will see a real change in this country's attitude to media ownership and editorship. It's been brilliant to see the heads roll one after another. And don't get me started on that complete twister Coulson.

VivaLeBeaver · 15/05/2012 18:03

I believe its called karma. Its been a long time coming was worth the wait!

dikkertjedap · 15/05/2012 18:05

Given how many messages were removed by Mumsnet HQ in relation to Madeleine McCann I am surprises what has been on this thread ...

JustFab · 15/05/2012 18:11

With relation to Cameron - he isn't the only person in the world to have a friend who isn't squeaky clean. I am sure there must be some MNters who have friends who have done time.

I don't like RB from what I have seen of her on the news and her making a statement before the announcement was made just shows she thinks she is something special imo.

limitedperiodonly · 15/05/2012 18:18

Dave isn't your average Mumsnetter. For a start Rebekah Brooks hasn't done time yet.

And won't do, of course, unless all charges are proved beyond reasonable doubt.

JustFab · 15/05/2012 18:21

I was just making the point that people have friends who then may make bad choices. It shouldn't always reflect badly on the non-charged friend.

limitedperiodonly · 15/05/2012 18:23

I completely agree justfab.

I'm hard pushed to work out the running order of things that reflect badly on Dave.

JustFab · 15/05/2012 18:37

Even her comment about more to come out sounds threatening like she has so important information.

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 15/05/2012 18:42

Shock Shock Shock at the Bruno headline! Don;t read any of her 'newspapers' but cannot understand how she can sleep at night with that sort of vile spite on her watch Angry

catsareevil · 15/05/2012 19:16

Her comment of "One day the details of this case will emerge and people will see today as nothing more than an expensive sideshow" makes me wonder if she knows something we don't, whether there is a level of corruption that we don't know about yet.
It reminds me a bit of when the NOTW shut and she said something about people understanding better in a year why it had happened.

amillionyears · 15/05/2012 19:18

She will write a book and make a fortune

noddyholder · 15/05/2012 19:19

I think the one day comment was a bit of a warning to those who have protected her in the past to come out with the big guns for her or risk her 'spilling' big time

catsareevil · 15/05/2012 19:26

I think that you are right noddy, but what will she spill?

JustFab · 15/05/2012 19:48

I am thinking Ross Kemp was lucky to get away from her.

edam · 15/05/2012 19:49

limited - how about appointing Andy Coulson as first, his adviser while in opposition, then as his press secretary when he knew damn well phone hacking was an issue? How about giving Coulson a job where he had access to highly confidential government papers, when Coulson did not have the required level of security vetting? How about the cosy deal Cameron and Hunt tried to do, slavishly giving News Corp control of BSkyB and a strangehold over the UK media? How about giving News International inside info about the approval of the deal when it was supposed to be going through a quasi-judicial process? There's plenty more where all that came from...
