Short version here I'll have a dig for more details. Oh happy day! :o

Coulson hasn't been charged yet. Neither has anyone else yet either except these five.

Ponders · 17/05/2012 09:27

\link{http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2091986/Rebekah-Brooks-baby-girl-Former-News-International-boss-mother-Scarlett-Anne-Mary.html\yes, baby was born in January}

JessCartandahorse · 17/05/2012 09:44

I feel sorry for the baby, who is possibly going to be sans two parents at some point - not a great start in life. Hope she has a wonderful nanny.

re Cameron - one of his problems is that he is overly-loyal to old friends and this I think clouds his judgement. A PM needs to be ruthlessly objective about the character and ability of colleagues and wield the knife when necessary.

slug · 17/05/2012 09:45

OK, so I'm ignorant about such things, but if the baby, as we know, was born via a surrogate, does that mean the Brookes have to formally adopt her? I would imagine the process hasn't been completed yet. If convicted, would this affect the adoption process?

JessCartandahorse · 17/05/2012 09:51

Interesting point. Also would Rebekah end up in a prison mother and baby unit? How the mighty are fallen.

limitedperiodonly · 17/05/2012 09:53

I was wondering that slug.

I suppose that dim bulb Charlie could be the sperm donor which would make the child his but as he's not married to the mother wouldn't he have to go through a legal process?

Just musing on people's private lives in the public interest.

What a shame the News of the World is defunct. They'd steal all the medical records in a jiffy and clear up the mystery for us.

QuickLookBusy · 17/05/2012 10:01

Exactly limited.
I occasionally feel a twinge of sympathy for a new mum getting arrested and charged. But then I think if this was anyone else the NOTW would have this splashed on its front page, hacking, bugging and bribing everyone around her and dishing all the dirt.

She's done it to parents who are trying to cope with losing their child. I hope she might now have a little more insight into what she's put others through.

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 17/05/2012 10:02

limited yes indeed!!
And the irony of RB in the m&B unit among all those single mums who have been pilloried by her press.
Poor innocent baby Sad

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 17/05/2012 10:04

'dim bulb' love that expression! limited shall find an oppotunity today today drop that expression into my team meeting somewhere Grin

MarySA · 17/05/2012 12:25

I read an article that said the surrogate was 'rumoured' to be a relative. So that probably explains things a bit. Poor little child.

Nancy66 · 17/05/2012 12:27

it's her first cousin

hackmum · 17/05/2012 12:32

I think prison mother and baby units only take babies up to nine months.

Jess - I'm not sure it's a question of Cameron being overly loyal. Both Coulson and Brooks were extremely useful people to have around in terms of getting good press coverage.

Nancy66 · 17/05/2012 12:39

The absolute earliest she'd be in prison would be spring 2013

Sprogged · 17/05/2012 13:04

There was a lovely little cartoon in Private Eye last month, it showed a curly haired woman in a witness box wearing a black dress, with a pointy hat and a broomstick declaring quite angrily

'I am the victim of a witch hunt!!!'

PercyFilth · 17/05/2012 13:12

Is this baby biologically hers?

Nancy66 · 17/05/2012 13:18

not biologically hers, no

ASillyPhaseIAmGoingThrough · 17/05/2012 13:20

So was it a surrogate or an adoption then?

Nancy66 · 17/05/2012 13:23

the baby was born via a surrogate - and I think in those cases the intended parents have to adopt the child.

JustFab · 17/05/2012 13:24

Baby news here

So from a donor egg then? Well, that's a blessing for the poor little mite. :)

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 17/05/2012 13:39

sprogged and teakozy thanks! Grin

That is what happens when you wear a puritan collar. Grin

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 17/05/2012 14:03

Can I just say one thing?
Why doesnt she EVER tie that bloody hair back?
I KNOW its is beautiful and flowing and curly and lusterous but I do NOT need to keep seeing it all over the place.

Did someone once tell her she had beautiful hair? That it is her best feature?
Is that why she never, ever ties it back, even when she is in bloody court?

Can I just say that?

Thanks

limitedperiodonly · 17/05/2012 14:07

Because then you'd see the power socket in the back of her neck.
