yes, why don't you?

SoupDragon · 03/02/2006 19:26

Heaven's no - I'm not responsible at all!

Polgara2 · 03/02/2006 19:32

Have just added dds' names - better go and tell them now then

scatterbrain · 03/02/2006 20:07

oooooh !!! Have just done it too !!!

DD would LOVE to meet the queen - she is so jealous that I've had tea with her twice ! Oh yes, one moves in these circles don't ya know !!

OK - first time was with Pater - he got a little awardy thing off her, and second time I was part of a project and was invited as ma'am wanted to thank us all !!!

DD has told everyone she knows that Mummy knows the Queen ! Although have to say - she was rather disappointed that the Queen doesn't have glamorous long flaxen hair or a beautiful Disney style dress !

So, did anyone win tickets?

desperateSCOUSEstrife · 11/04/2006 15:09

socci when do the invites come out

Socci · 11/04/2006 15:10

I think successful applicants should hear by the middle of April.

desperateSCOUSEstrife · 11/04/2006 15:11

okey spokey
best of luck to all

Greensleeves · 11/04/2006 15:17

Why would anyone want their children to go and pay homage to some prune-faced free-loading old dinosaur? Beats me.

desperateSCOUSEstrife · 11/04/2006 15:19

not homage at all gs
just as a life experience tbh

Socci · 11/04/2006 15:19

LOL Grin do you subscribe to the David Icke theory then Greensleaves?

How did I miss this thread first time round, I have been howling with laughter.

Greensleeves · 11/04/2006 15:32

"Life experience"? Queueing with hundrends of other sycophantic bozos to catch a glimpse of the most unpreposessing-looking old woman in Britain? I always think the least the po-faced old trout could do is crack a smile when people have sat in London traffic for hours just to see her.

I sat on the bus this afternoon and had a lovely conversation about daffodils with a charming old lady who had more grace and intelligence than the entire royal family put together. Inbred parasitical dimwits.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 11/04/2006 15:33

Don't hold back Greeny tell it like it is. Grin

Socci · 11/04/2006 15:41

I don't think the point of it is to catch a glimpse of the queen though - it's supposed to be an interesting day for children isn't it?

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 11/04/2006 15:43

What will happen at the Party?

The gates will open at around 3.45 pm. If you are invited to the Party you will have the opportunity to enjoy the Buckingham Palace Garden, mingle with the other guests and characters from your favourite book, eat your picnic tea and enjoy the party atmosphere!

At 6pm, a specially written show will be staged in the Garden, lasting around an hour and a half. The show is being broadcast live on BBC1. CBBC will also be at the Party to go behind the scenes and bring you all the best bits.

Greensleeves · 11/04/2006 15:56

What a load of old hogwash. It'll be jam-packed with whining, bored kids all crying because the Queen isn't there, it's drizzling, there's nowhere to sit, the "show" is about a mile away and they can't see or hear anything, the "picnic tea" consists of a riffy cheese sandwich made with white Mother's Pride, a bruised Golden Delicious and a Penguin.... the grass will be littered with polystyrene cups dribbling out warm orange squash and "programmes" full of meaningless bumph, there'll be wasps everywhere - I'd rather be bludgeoned to death.

Socci · 11/04/2006 16:01

LOL I guess you won't be going then Greensleeves?

Socci · 11/04/2006 16:02

I'm just wondering if anyone actually did get a ticket.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 11/04/2006 16:02

well it's not the middle of April yet Grin

Socci · 11/04/2006 16:03

It says people should hear from early April...

KoolKat · 11/04/2006 16:04

The QUEEN - the band yes, but not the HRH variety !

What a bore !!

Greensleeves · 11/04/2006 16:05

Guess not Grin

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 11/04/2006 16:06

koolkat - it's not for adults - if for the children [frown].

Just had a browse around on Loquax - and no-one on there seems to have mentioned it - and no-one here has...........so maybe they[re lost in the post Grin
