Enfield riots?

Just seen on Twitter and in a few articles like this, that there are meant to be plans for a riot in Enfield tonight and riot police are in the town centre?

Used to live there, and got family there (luckily a fair distance from the centre), but fucking hell! What the hell is going on?

Oh for gods sake - Liverpool now.

BBC are reporting it has now spread to manchester. But aren't giving specific areas of liverpool, birmingham or manchester that have been affected in their reports.

The news agencies are really struggling to keep up tonight.

I'm wondering if that's deliberate - so as not to give ideas to anyone until the trouble is beyond question. More responsible.

Possible but no one else is reporting anything going on in manchester which is odd as liverpool was being reported by multiple agencies. Also the other agencies are being very non specfic x area not x road type thing. But I see your point.

Live in Croydon. 21 year old, six foot plus son went out this evening, as he does every Monday. Left house half part six, so about an hour before police closed Croydon down. On way home bus had to divert. Because it went off route he had to walk home via unfamiliar side street rather than usual main road. Got mugged. Phone and MP3 and 15 quid stolen. Threatened with stabbing, hit over the head, arrived home in tears. Thanks rioters.

Why is there no live footage from anyone on the ground? Surely this is the moment all cub broadcasters get to make their names . The BBC seems to be on loop footage, all shot before 10pm . Where are the reporters?
