Sheep are crazed lunatics Grin. They run wild here and are indeed capable of savaging obe to death.

claig · 20/07/2011 10:47

Yes but is that also true of a dead sheep?
I expect Murdoch will welcome the savaging by dead sheep on these committees

bkgirl · 20/07/2011 10:48

Seriously, I wish we could get rid of party politics. I like a few individuals of all sides.....eg. Tom Watson, Boris ,

  • will continue thinking about this whilst hoovering.......
TheRealMBJ · 20/07/2011 10:48

Zombie-dead sheep are the worst!

Ponders · 20/07/2011 10:49

claig, what are you on about?

TheRealMBJ · 20/07/2011 10:49

Agree bk_

claig · 20/07/2011 10:50

Yes, the Labour frontbench are the worst

claig · 20/07/2011 10:53

'Seriously, I wish we could get rid of party politics'

You can't get rid of party politics, it's what politics is all about. It's about different visions of the future, different values, goals and understanding. Unless you prefer the "we're all in it together" world of ex-Labourites like Lord Hutton and Frank Field working with the Tories.

ThisIsANiceCage · 20/07/2011 10:53

Agree that Blackwood was outstanding.

Erm, claig, the fantastic Daily Mail is in it. Up to its neck, according to the 2006 ICO report.

at Jon Stewart clip...

claig · 20/07/2011 10:58

Yes, I keep hearing that the Daily Mail is in it too. Let's wait and see.

midnightexpress · 20/07/2011 11:01

Marina Hyde v funny today in today's Guardian. Mrs M as Jackie O.

TheRealMBJ · 20/07/2011 11:03

claig you are exhausting. Seriously, this 'thing' isn't about party politics. Much like the expenses scandal, it crosses party lines. Every one is implicated (well maybe not the Greens but there aren't enough of them to be affected).

Let go of you obsession. You'll feel better for it. I promise

bkgirl · 20/07/2011 11:03

news breaking in the guardian about High Court judge ordering Met to release info on hacking of Jemima Khan and Hugh Grant

AngelsOnHigh · 20/07/2011 11:04

How is it different from Wickileaks?

Terribletriplets · 20/07/2011 11:08

Harbottle and Lewis may speak about the emails. Interesting.

teejwood · 20/07/2011 11:10

claig i agree Blackwood did a great job yesterday but the terminology "conservative christian" always makes me shiver a bit (as I do when faced with people who take the "hard line" in other religions). What do we know about Blackwood in terms of broadly liberal policies like birth control, divorce laws, women's rights, abortion rights, gay rights etc? Just like EM hasn't become a great labour leader just because of what he has said during the past week or so, neither will Blackwood become a contender for a top job on the Tory front benches until people know what sort of person she actually IS.

claig · 20/07/2011 11:10

TheRealMBJ, I have no obsession with it. I joke about it, because I think they "are all in it together". You have to laugh or else you'd cry. The curtain has been drawn back on what goes on, but that's probably only a fraction of what really goes on. The newspapers are spinners just like all the rest.

teejwood · 20/07/2011 11:13

bkgirl when you see how effectively politicians CAN work together on the select committees I do wonder if a rainbow government - not just the coalition - might be the way forward. There are complete twunts in each party. If we could dump them and take the best of the bunch and get them to work together maybe we might have a real consensus to face the challenges of the 21t century....

claig · 20/07/2011 11:15

teejwood, I agree. We don't know anything about Blackwood's opinions. It is teh first time I have ever seen her. But what was encouraging is that we saw that good MPs exist, ones that we never see or hear on TV. Fortunately, there are more good MPs than teh ones we see on our nightly news programmes. There is still hope that the public may be wrong when they say that "they're all the same". It didn't look like Blackwood is.

TheRealMBJ · 20/07/2011 11:20

Proportional representation! Proportional representation! Proportional representation!

Repeat after me

Proportional representation!

claig · 20/07/2011 11:21

teejwood · 20/07/2011 11:37
