Hi

Have avoided the computer to avoid sitting here all day browsing!!

DD is a nursery all day today and DS3 is having a nap, so as soon as my list is added I will get my bum of this seat and do some work!!

freak I would resist, imagine how lovely it will be when the bunks and bedding are all new together.

Ali You are meant to feel like that apparently, I think it's in level 2 when she says 'I want you to feel like you're gonna die' She is brutal, but it really does work.

Alice I remember this stage, you want to get everything all organised, but don't want to exhaust yourself. I think the answer is take regular breaks.

to everyone else

Oops!! forgot list.

Also I found a book by Anthea Turner in the library, she recommends doing your daily tasks and then paying a little extra attention to a specific room each day. So I have allocated a day to each of my rooms/areas and am going to give it a go this week. Today it's the kitchen's turn, not sure what extra things I'm going to do yet, but will add to my list later (when it's done) BTW the books called 'How to be a Perfect Housewife', don't think I'll ever be that!!

I've done it all wrong though I saw on the hotel inspector that you are supposed to do beds first (because changing the beds creates dust), then hoover, then dust last because the hoover makes dust fly up into the air. Oh well, sure it wont kill us!

wastingaway · 05/07/2010 13:23

JKS, I am returning to trolleyness after a 2.2 year break. Can't pull a trolley and push a pram.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 05/07/2010 13:28

JKS I had the same criteria for bunks. I went for ones from m&s
a) because I have seen them in the flesh and they look good as singles as well as bunks (some look very obviously like half a bunk iyswim)
b)because they include mattresses and once you factor in the cost of mattresses with some of the ones that are frame only they are more expensive
c) Because they assemble them for you

Still £££ but got contributions from various family members for dd's birthday/

But now gutted because just went to get the link for you and they are £50 cheaper than I paid

FreakoidOrganisoid · 05/07/2010 13:30

ooh no it's ok they now don't include mattresses so by that thinking I got a bargain

JustKeepSwimming · 05/07/2010 13:45

Freak you probably did get a bargain. Are they single (3ft) mattresses?
If i go for the bunks + 2 single mattresses that are reduced works out at £437.

Not needed for a bit as DS2 firmly in his cot for a while yet, and they wouldn't be up as bunks for a while yet either, how old are your DC? DS1 is only 4 so 2 years according to the website.
Plus DS2 is a climber so would be up there like a shot!

Mine are the same age as yours I think, dd 4 and ds 2.5. Neither has fallen out of bed yet (have been in beds since 19 months) so am hoping it will be ok! Will keep ds' toddler bed to begin with though, just in case dd wants the bottom bunk at first. DD should be fine up there but yes ds is bound to climb up there... [bad mummy ignoring suggested age]

FreakoidOrganisoid · 05/07/2010 14:03

Yes to 3ft as well

RainbowDrops · 05/07/2010 14:45

I am when DH called he mentioned that last night DS1 was being a bit suspicious with his ipod touch and was concerned that he was looking at porn, so I looked at it and yes he has been looking at lesbian porn. I am too, to me he's still my baby. I don't have the controls set up on the family PC because it's in my living room and it would be very difficult for my DC to view anything I didn't want them to. It never crossed my mind that I should have it set up for DS1s ipod touch. I thought he only used it for music and games. He doesn't know that we know yet, I think we will discuss it when all the other DC are in bed.

freak Love those bunks and a bargain too!!

Next; I will sort out parental controls!!

It truly is a different world to the one we grew in up isn't it.

Stressful time at Reading Group at the library. Didn't take any nappies so of course DS did an unusual 2nd of the day number 2. And he wouldn't join in with anything. And the playworker thinks he's clingy. But he had fun, didn't hurt anyone and did some good sharing.

If I can get DS to sleep, I may clean out the bin. Not that I'm trying to avoid it or anything.

Wasting - yuk i hate cleaning any kind of bin!

Just lost my temper with DS1, a lovely chilled afternoon then he just wouldn't come for tea. Then wouldn't eat anything. So i fed him a few mouthfuls until he said he was full, then banished him from my sight for a few minutes. He'll be hungry later but no more food til breakfast.....

Why do kids do that though - spoil the feeling of a niceness by being a pain for no good reason????

Wasting it's always the way when you go out! We were out for the day yesterday with a friend and her DC. The baby is 5 months old and did the most explosive poo! There were only porta-loo things, so no space to do a nappy change. She ended up changing her on the grass on a blanket and the whole blanket, outfit, about half a pack of wipes and some of the surrounding grass was covered in poo. Nightmare.

JKS - I lost it with DS the other day, he was just being a total PITA and knew it. Ended up shutting him in his room so that I could calm down, didn't feel great

Rainbow - meant to say and at your DS. Very right that you talk to him about it, good luck.

Oh Ali, that sounds a nasty poo!

DS is very off food atm. I don't know if I'm just timing things wrong, or he's bored off what I give him, but he had two yoghurts for lunch, and then ate half a sausage roll (just the sausage) and a couple of tomatoes when we got back that he'd refused at lunchtime.

I'm going to do jacket potato and beans with salad when he wakes up, as yes, he's still asleep but he'll probably just have yoghurt ans chocolate buttons.

Anyway, I've had a fun afternoon. Not! (As we used to say. )

Wasting - DS isn't eating brilliantly at the moment. Yesterday he hardly ate anything all day and then wolfed meatballs, carrots and green beans for his dinner.
Today he ate loads for breakfast - weetabix, toast and fruit and a huge beaker of milk. Then he would only eat the salad at lunchtime and not the cheese sarnie.
Really hoping he will eat some dinner otherwise he'll be waking up at 11pm demanding toast which is what has happened in the past!
