May's Fledgling Flyers: shed that clout May Flyers are out

elliepac · 28/04/2010 21:23

Welcome to the May edition of the fledgling flyers where we are going to merrily fly around the maypole, dusting as we go.

Here you can do any of the following:

  • repeat or start baby steps (again!)
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone

or

  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

For those who are curious, these are the Babysteps, which we all hope will restore order in our homes and make our lives a little bit easier with lots of support (and chat, and wine, and a little more chat )

So please come and join us, old and new, from May 1st.

Hello!

Well done for taking over ellie I'm sure you will be fab and thank you MM for doing April (even though I wasn't about much).

We start with a Bank Holiday weekend so I am going to try to get back in the swing of things. See you on Saturday!

elliepac · 28/04/2010 21:51

MrsDinky · 28/04/2010 22:16

Here I am too. Welcome on board Iloveasylumseekers - good idea to join in at the start of a month, I did the same thing myself, lurked for a bit and the jumped in on a new month.

iloveasylumseekers · 28/04/2010 22:20

thanks both. Have been aware/ignoring Flylady for about 6 years, but something must be done... Pregnant/ill at the moment but I think sink shining ought to be doable.

Nettiespagetti · 28/04/2010 22:21

Iloveasylumseekers this one will be just as huge in no time, these girls are prolific posters and jolly good fun! Good Luck

purplewednesday · 28/04/2010 22:39

I bags the huge bean bag by the french window!

Welcome aboard Ilove - give it a few days and this thread will be verrry long too! Its down to us generally gossiping, never mind the housework! New baby? Lurveley!!

Great thread title...

optimisticmumma · 28/04/2010 22:44

excuse typos - 'tis late!

droitwichmummy · 28/04/2010 22:48

Well hello pmpy! Pull up a chair in the corner next to me and we'll pretend we were here all the time. I'm hiding under the floppy hat with large sunglasses and reading the largest newspaper I can find.

biddyofsuburbia · 28/04/2010 22:49

Hello - marking place!

LinzerTorte · 29/04/2010 07:03

Just marking my spot - can't believe how quickly this new thread is filling up already!

Thanks for taking over the reins ellie - I'm sure you'll be a brilliant leader. And thanks for all your encouragement, link posting etc over the last few months MiniM!

Welcome iloveasylumseekers - a shiny sink is always a good start (and I must admit I don't even manage that some days...)!

Back to the old thread to post today's list...

Stillcounting · 29/04/2010 08:27

[SC staggers up from rocking chair by window where she's been reading a very large newspaper with MummyD and PMPY and dumps buckets, mops, cleaning materials on floor and lays out a huge supply of microfibre clothes for everyone - a pink one for Optimistic I think]

Just marking my place!!

A humunguous thank you to Elliepac for taking over the thread (I like the sound of the maypole) and a humunguous thank you to Mini-Marmite too for keeping us all going throughout April.

A warm welcome to Iloveasylumseekers

See you all on the morning of the 1st after I've finished washing my face with dew!! Second thoughts - the gps have a tendency to 'fertilise' the lawn ....

WE CAN DO IT EVERYONE!!

elliepac · 29/04/2010 08:41

Just checking in to see who's crawled out from under stones and sidled into the corners (pmpy, sc and dwm ) and welcome to everyone else particularly iloveasylumseekers, we are not all mad I promise despite what pa says, just some of us .

Things are going quite well
sink is shiny
now just have to beat that badtempered feeling I get when the kids are fighting each other after school and be a good example

off to work now

Stillcounting · 29/04/2010 11:12

er,

  1. gps = guinea pigs, not grandparents
  1. I can't spell humongous
PositiveAttitude · 29/04/2010 12:11

The idea of grandparents fertilizing the lawn is quite mind boggling.

DidEinsteinsMum · 29/04/2010 12:39

I see somethings havent changed.
Hopefully though, the houses are being decluttered and chaos reduced.

RIght now i am on a massive sort out. Tempered by lack of sleep and boredom of lego...Long list of todo. I currently drowning and forgetting the 11 commandments of fly. But there are a few days left of april and i intend to be back. But might not be about for much chat as i have resolved to be on mn less. as for capital letters - well they are hiding out somewhere is the chaos and hopefully they will have been rediscovered by the time May fully swings around. Just dont hold your breathe.

frubear · 29/04/2010 13:07

Chrome sinks are meant to be shiny!?
I've got to stop trying to pass off the ironing mountain, as a piece of monstrous art and get the house in some order so definately count me in.

Good to meet you all

elliepac · 29/04/2010 20:40

Welcome frubear . Ironing mountains are quite common in this neck of the woods, they live quite close to Mount Washmore. It is lovely to meet you to. See you on 1st May.
