Ali - ditto. bbc news channel on all day. but the electric went off around 3pm. By the time it was back on there was GB resigning and Cam going to number 10. Madness.

Still I like to think they (the MP's and the news reporters) must be more sleep deprived/stressed/confused and generally panicking than me.

So glad my list is finally getting shorter. It's been a bit mad round here.

Ali as our resident expert what does the new gov mean for me as benefit scum a single sahm? I have always planned to go back to work when ds is at preschool-school at the latest anyway so the current thing of having to work once they are 7 makes no odds to me but I am a bit worried about how I will survive in the meantime if tax credits/hb get cut...(at the same time I struggle with thinkng that I should get everything that I curently do )

I would ask on the poltics threads but they scare me! And I get all confuddled reading manifestos etc!

DS fell asleep on me so haven't done much other than watch lost!

Hello Everybody, You seeem a friendly lot. Like your lists. I am trying to work out how you do the list thing and the ticking off etc. is it a cut and paste from another doc job or what? Not very techie I'm afraid, anyway....

we all do lists in our way. Loads of different styles. Just do what suits you. My style is different everytime

When I do my done/to do lists I tend to c&p from lower in the thread. I also have a word doc with my daily list on and sometmes use that to c&p from but that format isn't really working for me at the moment. Just do whatever sort of list suits you!

freakoid - Don't worry! No one knows what's going to happen yet with just about anything. But we were assured several times by Cam/Clegg that benefits will be there for those who really need them so hopefully you will still get yours. They may cut tax credits for higher earners later on.

Freaky - as HMHB says, it's a bit up in the air atm. I am pretty confident though that no-one in your position is going to lose out. One thing that Cameron has said is that they are going to come down like a ton of bricks on fathers (or mothers) who are NR and don't pay what they should for their kids, which can only be a good thing.
The increase in the tax threshold should be very beneficial to you when it comes to going back to work.
