Morning everyone, nearly burned the house down last night. I moved a basket of washing last night, put it sitting on top of the cooker, which I hadnt used all day, (used chip pan and health grill for dinners). Went upstairs to put DD3 to bed, came downstairs, sat down fora minute, decided to make a cup of tea, went into the kitchen and could get a funny smell, went over to the cooker and lifted the basket off immediately. Melted a big hole, am grateful that the clothes were wet! Anyone know how to get melted plastic off a hob ring, plus I have a big blister on my finger

No list today but I am going to put my 'dones' on here instead

Alicetheinvisible · 17/04/2010 08:58

Morning

Cikecaka I have melted a loaf of packaged bread to the back of the hob (where the vents are, took bloody ages to get the Hovis print off!

Today we (DD and i) are off to the baby sale in the local church. A bit like NCT but not quite as mad. Ideally wouldn't take DD but really have no choice as no one to look after her.

TO DO
Get dressed
Get DD creamed and dressed
Hang yesterday's washing out
Empty dishy
Go to sale and market
Lunch
Quick tidy round
Horses
Dinner
DD bed

I have got a niggling sinus headache that is driving me slightly mad don't think mad sale will help either

JustKeepSwimming · 17/04/2010 09:18

Well, i spent about £25 at the sale. First thing i bought was the peppa pig schoolroom playset, brand new still in box for £12. I know i wasn't there to buy toys for DD but i just knew she would love it and she does. Also meant that she would sit in a corner while i looked at stuff just looking at it! I also got a maternity teal coloured M&P wrap top for £2, 2 new born baby sets (vest, jacket, hat, bib, trousers etc) for £3.50 each and then got 6 babygrows (3 brand new) for £5. Not a bad day's work

Um yeah well I am a big fat loser. ONE person who had to leave at 9.30

Don't mind the people who let me know but some of the people who just didn't bother showing are supposedly quite good friends.

Feeling quite shit now.

wastingaway · 17/04/2010 22:34

Fuck 'em.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 17/04/2010 22:54

weak

My sunburn is really quite bad

wastingaway · 17/04/2010 22:59

Have you got some aftersun lotion?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/04/2010 23:07

Freak that is rubbish, people can be so rude

DH still isn't on his way home, he has a flight booked for tomorrow which will get him to Washington DC via Tokyo. Over 24 hours travelling and he'll still be on the wrong side of the Atlantic. At least work are picking up the tab for it all though, must be horrendous for people who are having to pay out for more accomodation, trains etc.
I am feeling sorry for myself though and I know I shouldn't. Parents are coming home with me tomorrow for a couple of hours to help me get sorted for the painter coming on Monday morning, so I won't even be going back to an empty house.

Small list for tomorrow

Get up and pack
Breakfast
Drive home
Unload car
Sort kitchen ready for painter
Sort bathroom ready for painter
Lunch
Unpack
Dinner
DS bath and bed
Clear up
Peaceful evening on my own

FreakoidOrganisoid · 17/04/2010 23:19

Yep am smothering myself alternately in aloe vera and bottom butter

I was quite chilly sitting out with the wind but no surprise I am burnt after 6 hours in the sun

DC of course lovely and brown (though I was more careful with the suncream on them even though I need it more than they do being a bit ginger and them being half black )

Crap about your dh ali

Alicetheinvisible · 18/04/2010 09:03

Morning

Freak i ^would've* come to your party, but i wasn't invited and i am about 250miles away

Seriously though, people have done that to us so much. Last year DH took a weeks holiday in June and the weather was lovely so we decided to have a BBQ. Instead of texting everyone, we printed a poster and put it up at Dh's work. No idea how many people were coming, loads showed up and was a bit mad. About 6 weeks later we had another one and 2 couples showed up. That time we had invited people individually and no one even ansewered. People just have no manners these days [old lady emoticon]

Ali sounds rubbish

I have decided i need an everyday list. At the moment i am just posting lists of stuff as i remember, so going to spend this morning figuring out the list.

Get dressed
Get DD creamed and dressed
Have breakfast
Clear up breakfast
Empty dishy
Put washload on (can't decide whether to put wash on at night instead or not)
Turn horses out
Hang washing out
Lunch
Clear up lunch
Do horses
Dinner
Wipe down kitchen
DD bed
Tidy living room

Today's list DONE
Put dishy on
Have breakfast
Strip beds and put sheets in wash (first load in)
Someone else putting horses out

TO DO
Get dressed
Get DD creamed and dressed
Clear up breakfast
Hang washing out
Put second lot of sheets in machine
Empty dishy
Lunch

Do horses
Dinner (roast chicken)
Wipe down kitchen

Tidy living room

Bit of a work in progress....

JustKeepSwimming · 18/04/2010 09:48
