Apologies for title.

Write lists, chat about stuff, motivate, celebrate and commiserate.

Any list format is acceptable.

Including 'coffee and MN' on to do list is encouraged.

Am attempting to make rice pudding, it's not going too well so far First the milk boiled over, then I put too much nutmeg in and now it's not thickening.

PLum - that's one of the ones I considered from the Argos website (it's currently £99 on there), but decided it had a few things "against" it (smaller water tank - so would need to refill more often, stainless steeel soleplate - wanted a ceramic as was advised that was best, slightly higher wattage than my one. etc etc

PlumBumMum · 03/03/2010 11:50

HMHB hope your ok, but if not this will make you laugh, I just....................hoovered my walls and its ALL YOUR FAULT!!!!

I knew someone said about dusting pictures etc so that drew my attention to the dust on my walls
so I attached the small dust brush to the hose and dusted above all doorways(Ithink) and above radiators (most dust there)

Now I have realised that my entire life I didn't know that was the purpose of that little attachment, I always used it on curtains

DONE
clean out fire
clean out hoover
hoover

Right
clean out hoover again
need to load dishwasher
tidy kitchen
hangup damp washing
put a wash on
wait for fireplace man to ring

And also I must add that there is no way my bagged hoover was picking up all that crap as I should have been changing bags everytime I hoovered, love seeing it all collected
My carpet looks like new And that is saying alot for the hall carpet which was here before us, but can't afford to replace just yet!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 03/03/2010 12:34

PBM - am laughing. I always wondered what those attachments were for too.

Glad I went round dusting mirrors. Went in the spare room and discovered some mould/mildew on the wall behind a chest of drawers (the newly painted wall I might add ). This is why in the olden days housekeepers would do certain jobs every month e.g. airing rooms and the like. By doing this sort of stuff you notice when things are getting really dirty before it gets embarrassing. Keeping this house is like a full time job without the DC's! Don't know what to do about the mildew though. Will probably have to paint it again .

You will be pleased to hear that DD is taking her lunchtime nap today .

Spring Cleaning Job of the day - clean mirrors and dust pictures done

Tidy up spare room for Dad done

PlumBumMum · 03/03/2010 13:02

HMHB I think you can get a damp proof paint probably not the right term to paint on before painting again

We have black mildew in the corner of our bedroom which I washed with Jeyes(last years list) and it hasn't come back I haven't got round to painting yet, hopefully this week

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 03/03/2010 13:07

pbm - I think I'll give it a wipe down when my dad gets here and we can move the drawers.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/03/2010 13:13

How bizarre - I have also been hoovering walls this morning! I find the bathroom walls get dust clinging to them, v.horrid.

HMHB - I know what you mean about the housekeeping. For example, I cleaned the insides of my living room windows about a month ago. They were disgusting and took me ages to clean. I did them again on Monday and it took less than 5 minutes.
I am working on putting 5 lists together, with the idea of doing them in rotation each week. Sort of like that Masterplan that Norks did, but far far simpler - so that basically once a month or thereabouts all the corners and extras get done.

I think you can get special mildew resistant paint? Need to look into it because our bathroom ceiling is getting really bad.

TODAY
Me and DH up - done
Shower and dressed - done
Get DS up and dressed - done
Spatone + vitamins
Breakfast and tidy kitchen - done

Ali - I hope you are going to put your monthly cleaning jobs on the list so we can join in if we want (you aren't wearing lace up shoes are you?? - just checking for FLY lady potential ). And we can keep checking the corners damn them!

Right. Next. Cup of tea I think.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 03/03/2010 13:21

Plum be careful we might kick you off if you keep this up

Rice pudding was ok just a bit too nutmeggy.

I LOVE OBEM, joy and fabio hilarious, v jealous of kelly she barely seemed to push! OMG at epidural needle I was too scared to even use gas so just had tens with my 2 (and paracetamol!). I watch the labours thinking no bloody way and then as soon as the babies are born I want to do it all over again

Ali I finally remembered to post 'gro today! Sorry has taken so long

FreakoidOrganisoid · 03/03/2010 13:22

And you Ali

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/03/2010 13:35

I don't have any shoes on, never mind lace up. Infact I don't own any lace up shoes apart from walking boots.

HMHB - I will be posting my lists here incase anyone is interested.

Freak - that needle freaked my out a bit too, I had a epidural with DS and told the anesthatist that I loved her. I was off my face on pethadine and 6 hours of G&A at that stage
Ooh thank you for posting that - will let you know when it arrives!

kansasmum · 03/03/2010 13:51

Afternoon- could post a list a mile long as I have tons of stuff to do but really cannot be bothered today so I know none of it will get done! Totally lacking in motivation due to entire house looking like pigsty AGAIN. Don't know where to start and feeling very 'woe is me' today!

Ok here goes:

Tidy Kitchen
Bring dry stuff out of t/drier in garage.
Hoover lounge (have done this once but the dog got back in and is shedding like mad).
Dust Tv screen and rest of living room (had to really as could have written my name in dust!) done

Do some laundry before everyone runs out of knickers!

Get off MN and actually do some of this!

PlumBumMum · 03/03/2010 14:07

Ali I keep meaning to do up my own Masterplan too

I had seen an epidural needle before on tv, before dd1 and MIL says plumbum shes mother earth pops her babies out,
NONSENSE its because I'm shit scared of needles and there is no way I would let one of those near me

Kansamum I need to get off mn too!!
