I HATE my house. It has got to the point I can't bear to be at home. We go to toddler groups or classes most days and if I am at home I feel awful. I can't bear the state I have let the house get in to. It is dirty, very messy, cluttered etc. I feel bad for my children. I NEED to get it sorted for their sake and mine.

DH is taking the kids out for a couple of hours tomorrow.

So there is my chance to get it sorted. But I don't even know where to start!

I feel like I am always cleaning and tidying. But it is still a right state - how does that work?!

I am not looking for a spotless house, I would hate that. But I would love for it to be safe and hygenic for my kids, and to be able to have friends over at the last min without being embarrassed about the state of the house.

PLLLLLLLEEEEAAAAASSSSSSEEEE Help me. I am really desperate.

Haha! Found it.

Yes, I love organisation, I'm just not great at doing it!!!

I find something really satisfying about spending a morning putting all my groceries in sell by date order, but completely miss the fact that there is washing up all over the kitchen table!

My husband is completely anti-organisation and tidiness in general. He complains that the house doesn't feel like a 'home' unless his rugby kit is strewn across the living room floor and dishes are in the bathroom (don't ask how they get there!) so I do need FLYlady, to keep on top of him and DS (2yo).

I love routine, but having a family that doesn't means my home still looks like it could be on how clean is your house some days.

Ok, I'm on my 15 minute break!

Have been busy, but not much seemsto be done yet!

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 24/11/2009 11:23

So, I'm on my own then?

Gracie123 · 24/11/2009 11:27

Nope, I'm here, just went overtime a litle because ds wanted me to stop for a hug in the middle.

Well done for starting solo. It is still better than it was, even if it doesn't look it.

Some of my stupid pans need soaking because I left them overnight, so my sink doesn't look nice and shiny but I got laundry folded/put away, new load on, floors swept, table and surfaces wiped, sewing machine and paraphernalia put away, and the toilets both cleaned.

Time for a quick cuppa before I whip out the vacuum...

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 24/11/2009 12:10

I've been having an extended break I'm afraid. Not an excuse, but my ME is bad right now and I do genuinely feel exhausted. I will start again soon though. Dd is bfing atm, so when she's done...

Well done you though!

Gracie123 · 24/11/2009 12:13

In fairness I didn't get the vaccum out after all. Had my cuppa then cuddled DS a bit more. Got MW appt in 10 mins, so I figure we will just watch chuggington until then...

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 24/11/2009 12:16

Well it sounds like you got loads done anyway I'm going to get going again soon. Will you start again when you are home or tomorrow?

Flame · 24/11/2009 12:58

I went to Psychomum's for coffee all morning.

But I am now feeling fairly hyper so about to start 15 mins in the kitchen in the hopes that soon I will have the dishes done so I can shine the sink

Divatheshopaholic · 24/11/2009 13:11

It actually remind me to go and tidy up a bit more.

Flame · 24/11/2009 13:26

Done the 15 mins (but that included doing lunch )

We've run out of washing up liquid and tesco deliver this evening, so I am doing dishes with washing powder

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 24/11/2009 13:36

Huh! coffee all morning? We were talking about you you know Flame? We were concerned about you Flame...

I have been really busy sitting on my bum since my initial 45 minutes worth

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 24/11/2009 13:37

Must get lunch and do a bit more

Flame · 24/11/2009 13:52

Gonna go do some more now I've eaten and taken the Very Important quiz

namechangedforareason · 24/11/2009 13:54

Been busy all day, although only when DD2 has been asleep and she is about to finish her 2nd nap. Haven't got all of downstairs done still which I will be gutted if its not done by the end of the day. Am going to focus on the kitchen and living room and leave the back room till last as then at least I will have 3 out of 4 rooms plus the hallway done (bathroom is finished)

My kitchen floor (lino) is absoutly disgusting! Any ideas of what I can clean it with? I only have a steam mop which is great for day to day mopping but can't do scrubbing so think I might need to get on my hands and knees today

Found out this morning that the lady next door died too .

Cannot believe how slow MW was. We just got home.

Gonna start making sweet potato pie though (thanksgiving on thursday and I never get all my baking done in one day) so the cleaning will have to wait a little bit longer. But then I am definitely going to start again....

....maybe

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 24/11/2009 14:14

What quiz Flame?

Gracie, how pg are you?

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 24/11/2009 14:16

Namechanged, well done you! was wondering where you'd gone My wood laminate is revolting too...I would've thought that steam would definitely be the way to go. Avoids having to scrub surely?

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 24/11/2009 14:17

...and having had lunch and finished my cup of tea...next 45 minutes coming up...

Gracie123 · 24/11/2009 14:18

Sorry solo, only 6wks at the mo. I feel great though, as I have ME too, but something about pregnancy hormones gives me a zing back - even if I do feel incredibly nauseous, I have lots of energy at least...

Good luck if you are ttc

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 24/11/2009 14:42

No, not ttc I don't have anyone to have babies with and as I'm edging up to age 46(in March), it's highly unlikely I'll have any more Dc's...hence the

Very happy for you though!

Flame · 24/11/2009 14:49

child of our time quiz

I'm doing quite well imo The place is nowhere near clean or tidy, but I am achieving a lot.

I can stop your by telling you about mangled nipples from newborn if you'd like?

Gracie123 · 24/11/2009 15:05

Oh please don't! I barely made it through BFing last time. I hope I can be brave again

Gracie123 · 24/11/2009 15:06

Although, for weight loss aspect I think I could probably do it twice over

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 24/11/2009 15:53

Well, I've just stopped!over an hours work!

This is what I've done so far today...

Picked up lots of toys(closely tailed by Dd getting some out again).

Tidied kitchen work tops(a bit).
Cleared kitchen floor of clutter.
Cleaned kitchen sink, bowl and in sink basket.
Cleaned bath, basin and toilet and vinegar sprayed and wiped plastic shower curtain as I don't have a spare/replacement(cheap plastic see through Ikea one).
Put a new smelly thing in loo rim cage and blue smelly/cleaning thing in cistern.

That's it so far. It doesn't sound like much, but I think it might be a kick start!

SolosScrapingUpForXmas · 24/11/2009 16:02

Have just made a cuppa and decided to bleach sink as it's white and looks brown even though I scub it!

I have almost been bfing for 4.5 years of my life. Dd is 3 on Boxing Day and refuses to stop. I love bfing most of the time, but occasionally wish she'd stop give me a break for a day
I haven't been without problems though...lots and lots of problems
