Everyone welcome!

Here you can, for one month:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As we are coverning more ground, to avoid confusion, I'll be posting links early in the morning on the relevant day.

Good luck!

Hi Ladies,

Just a quick one tonight, hope you all had a good day.

Mine was not too great but no real dramas - DS didn't have a very good day with the childminder (he's still settling in really) and I felt really nauseous all day but then the three of us had a lovely dinner together (yummy Nigel Slater recipe spare ribs - DS looked like Bam Bam from The Flintstones wielding a gnawed bone) and all is well again!

Anyway...

wish me luck everyone, I'm venturing into the pantry...It's dark and scary in there...

optimisticmumma · 06/10/2009 19:54

Evening all!

Back from work now so am attempting to do my zone...
CTGH Thanks for your daily reminders that we only have to do routines and 15 mins. I must admit to finding that I am starting to become obsessed .

Tonight I need to:
Put on WM
15 mins in the kitchen
relax (not with wine though elliepac )

hellsbelles I'm also a fan of microfibre cloths but don't have an ultraperformance one! Also a big fan of oxyaction powder in with the white wash. Also am loveing my pile of old teashirts/towels that I use as cleaning cloths (no more j cloths for me!!)

optimisticmumma · 06/10/2009 19:55

loving -

elliepac · 06/10/2009 20:42

I'm back and have managed to complete all jobs apart from hotspots. Not bad.

OM glad we are making the sensible decision tonight and staying away from the wine....how boring are we? . Oh, and pull those tights up before you relax, they are spoiling the look of your beautiful tabard.

hellsbelles i would second oxyaction in the wash and babywipes clean anything

minimarmite - step away from the pantry. They are dangerous places, into which one should only step with adequate safety measures in places. I try not to go into mine at all if possible other than to chuck stuff in which i wish to hide. Please don't do it.

CTGH thanks for that....sometimes it's tough to remember that rome wasn't built in a day, or even a month, or even a year or even a decade.

Have a lovely evening one and all.

optimisticmumma · 06/10/2009 20:53

Elliepac - am totally in awe of your energy! Full-time teacher, mother to littlies AND housewife extraordinaire!!!!
i can only manage teaching 2 days a week before I crash out into a heap!

elliepac · 06/10/2009 21:03

I am wonderwoman in a cunning disguise .

I had to do lots tonight...had fallen off wagon so much had no clean pots/clothes. It was out of necessity not energy And the only reason i got so much done was because DS was plonked in front of his DS and DD in front of cbeebies .

elliepac · 06/10/2009 21:08

must also add that it was all motivated by the fact that my mum texted me to ask if she could pop in for a coffee this evening. This was a rhetorical question and not one where i actually had the option to say no . I needed to ensure that she didn't do that thing where she asks me if i'm alright because the house is looking a little 'chaotic'.

droitwichmum · 06/10/2009 21:49

Big waves etc to everyone!

Done everything for today and still got time for large Bailey's

My list for today:
empty dishwasher done
empty washing machine done
15 mins decluttering kitchen done
clean worktops done and boy was there a load of grease under the deep fat fryer (I knew I hated it for more than one reason)
2 min Hot Spot - top of cupboard in lounge decided that was a 15 min declutter job so finished dresser instead
ironing washing not dry so leave till tomorrow

before bed:
washing machine on not enough for full load so will do tomorrow
dishwasher on done and put away
shine sink done

The Betterware catalogue came through the door today and I might actually order something although I have discovered our Poundlands do some good stuff. Any recommendations ladies?

MiniMarmite · 06/10/2009 23:16

It is no wonder that Ocado print a request for the return of their bags on their delivery notes...

...I think I must have had the supply for their entire customer base stashed away in my pantry.

Oh, the shame!

If I mention at any point that I am having an Ocado delivery I might need to be reminded (at least fifteen time) to give them back please

droitwichmum · 07/10/2009 06:23

Good morning everyone!

This morning:
dressed to shoes
breakfast
ironing
DS to breakfast club - got to walk today

After work
clean tap
15 min declutter - top of fridge
Hot Spot - computer desk
put out clothes for tomorrow
washing on
dishwasher on
shine sink

Have a good day - check in later

droitwichmum · 07/10/2009 06:24

Oh - also got to mend DH's flourescent jacket

annmar · 07/10/2009 06:37

Morning everyone.

Still haven't managed to get the kitchen floor done, so still on list.

The main thing for today is clearing the car out. It goes in for a service tomorrow and I'm hoping it will get a quick clean as well, but I need to get all the rubbish out.

The rest of the list is:
Empty and sort food cupboards
clean kitchen floor
Hot spot
Washing
general tidy downstairs

Countingthegreyhairs · 07/10/2009 06:56

Good morning

baby step for Wednesday 7th October

we are still in the kitchen zone for 15 mins decluttering OR if you have decluttered, 15 mins cleaning

today's mission - more kitchen sink shining

More power to your elbows! See you later!

Morning all.

Some up bright and early this morning I see!
Thanks for posting the steps CTGH.

Good start so far today, which is good as I have one manic day ahead of me and will get nothing else done today!

DWM - Poundland has got some brilliant things. One has just opened in our town. They do tumble drier sheets - those "bounce" things, but the proper ones cost about £3.50, so a bargain. Not quite so good, but for the price thy are brill! Loads of wooden floor wipe things and bits and pieces. I am waiting for a delivery of the dustpan and brush on a pole, so that you don't end up on your knees all the time. Saw them and thought they were a realy good idea, but they had run out before I bought one. I can get one from a hardware shop, but it costs £10, so I am waiting to see if they get more in.

Have a good, productive day everyone.

GoldenSnitch · 07/10/2009 08:21

Great start to the day! Wrapped my bathroom taps in vinegar soaked kitchen roll last night and this morning, I wiped the horrid, yellow-y/orange limescale that's been bugging me (and resisiting all cleaning products) for months away with a bit of toilet roll!

Bathroom looks so much better now.

optimisticmumma · 07/10/2009 08:22

Morning all
Elliepac - do we share a mum???
minimarmite - LOL at Ocado bags. droitwichmum are you wonderwoman in disguise? Anmar i also have a car that is used as a rubbish dump/larder/bedroom etc etc

Not working today and fell off the evening routine wagon but hey ho...

Today:
Take DC and DH to station without shouting!
pull out kitchen cupboards
15 mins PAPERWORK - now you know I'll need a group nag!
15 mins marking
TESCOS before we are reduced to foraging for food
take DD to dentist

Hi to everyone else on the thread and thanks CTGH for your continuing organisational skills.

Have a productive day - see you all later!

walkthedinosaur · 07/10/2009 08:59

Hi all, you're all doing so well, me I crash landed big time yesterday. I was so busy with work had a complicated piece of work that took twice as long as normal so had to start again after the DC's went to bed and was typing till 11.00 last night.

I did manage to swish and swipe, keep on top of the dishes and cook dinner and do mum things like homework for the DC's and the last thing I did was shine my sink before I went to bed, although I really didn't want to, but was glad I did because it was all nice and clean when I got up this morning.

Have a day off work today so will take DC's to swimming lessons, my builder is back so I doubt I'll get much cleaning done as he's creating plaster and cement dust upstairs and in the living room, but at least it will be nice to do things at a normal pace.

I wonder if my builder will take the great big hairy spider out of my bath that keeps winking at me every time I go to the loo. If it doesn't get itself out by tonight it's going to drown, I hate the things!

Happy flying everyone.

paranoiabigdestroyer · 07/10/2009 09:39

optimistic and elliepac I teach as well but currently on mat leave.I'm hoping that by having a good flight plan in place by the time I return that household things will be more under control.

I feel smug as today's baby step is something I do anyway but I could start doing it for the baby as well.

After the general chaos at 6pm last night we actually managed to get everything done - but I hate those fraught tea times.

Today I will:

take baby swimming

put fuel in courtesy car and aim to collect own car from body shop

ironing

do mini food shop

clean fridge door

hot spot in loft room

have dinner ready for 6pm

Have a good day everyone!

MiniMarmite · 07/10/2009 09:45

Morning All

Just checking in to pick up the instructions for today, thansk CTGH

It must be swimming day WTD - DS and I have our lesson today too.

Have a great day everyone.

hellsbelles · 07/10/2009 09:56

Thanks for all for the advice on things to help with the cleaning.

Very impressed with how well everyone is doing. But secretly very thankful that I'm still on the babysteps!

blissa · 07/10/2009 11:37

Hi everyone

This thread is HUGE

Have been a bit bust over the past few days and so kind of fell of the wagon.

I have cleaned my kitchen this morning, but will have to go back through the thread to see what I missed yesterday and monday.

You all look as if you are doing brilliantly!

Shoppingveggie · 07/10/2009 12:28

Hi everyone

Well, finally after a few re-arrangements I had my chiropodist appointment at home this morning - my feet look and feel fab! I am going to add "looking after feet" to my baby steps - just 2 minutes a day.

Also, I felt really happy letting her in to my tidy house (well downstairs, upstairs is a tip) - this has to be an incentive to keep this up.

Right, jobs for this afternoon -

on here til 1
Ironing for one hour
From 2 to 3 - En-suite and bedroom (didn't get that done yesterday)
3-3:10 - Hang up washing

Catch up later - have good afternoons all of you!

droitwichmum · 07/10/2009 13:50

Just peeking in during lunchtime to check up on you Everyone seems to be fluttering well!

OM - I'm afraid I'm not wonderwoman yet although DH is seriously worried about the amount of activity going on in our house! This morning's list (I didn't know I had time to do anything in the mornings)sounded grander than it was and we only walked because DH went to work at 5.30 and had to take the car BUT DS and I both enjoyed it. He actually talks to me while we're walking which makes a change.

This morning:
dressed to shoes done
breakfast done
ironing done not a big pile but its done and put away
DS to breakfast club - got to walk today done

Bit of shopping to do on way home then onto the big stuff. Thankfully DH does the cooking in our house so I can play with DS before his bedtime

Have a good afternoon everyone - pg people PLEASE put your feet up!

Countingthegreyhairs · 07/10/2009 14:19

You lot are brilliant!!

Waves to Elliepac FIRST this time, lest she gets zee 'ump !!! Seriously, though, I am in awe of you too!! How do you manage it?

"Yo" to PA (haven't replied yet - sorry!! - tonight)

Mmmmmmm, chomp, chomp, slurrrrpp, yyummmmmm licks lips, sighs contentedly (CTGH falls on Optimistic's choccies ) I like your "without shouting" clause! I should add that to my list every morning ...

Glad you made it out of the pantry alive MiniMarmite Droitwich I aspire to being an early bird like you ....well done on your list

Inspired by you ShoppingVeggie I am going to book home pedicure today - I always say I am going to go out and get one and never do -
seemingly insignificant things like having pampered feet DO make such a difference

Don't go back Blissa - we all do what we can do & no more - just jump in at today's step and carry on. Well done on your kitchen.

Hello to Paranoid Hellesbelles PushmePullyou and Anmar - well done all

Doesn't sound as if you crash landed at all WtheD - you are too hard on yourself - you kept going despite work, builders and dc!! Well done!! (Waves to the spider) Does he or she have a name?

Waves to anyone I have forgotten

See you later!

OP posts:
