TA - I feel so nauseous and sick most of the time and shattered, had a bit of cramping the other day and no bleeding so not sure what that could be.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 15/06/2009 19:56

Hello all, DH has taken his SN class camping this eve so am home alone with DS who has gone to bed pretty well for me, despite missing his Daddy, bless him.

MM - Have you tried the supernanny type thing where you go back once and say 'night time darling' then when you go back again don't give much attention and leave the light off etc. After that you just go in and put them back in bed without speaking. Not sure if it will work on your DD as don't know how old she is. DS (2.9) tends to sing a bit and play about in his cot until he goes to sleep. Sometimes I have to go in to remind him to settle down. Sometimes he wants a cuddle before going to sleep. The Mumsnet toddler guide is good and has a section on sleep. How old is your DD?

Go to work done
Bit of food shopping done
Get DS from nursery done
Make tea for me? - what to have???? Pasta or pie???
Sort kitchen
Empty dishy done
Reload dishy
Gestate 22 weeks
Bring washing in - still on line as got rained on

Try on / send back maternity clothes
Earth up potatoes
Buy mums 60th birthday present!!!! - champagne glasses
Do some exercise x 3 times a week done x1 gardening
Go see head of DS's new school - meeting on Wed 7pm
Buy new bathmat
Home facial every week

JustKeepSwimming · 15/06/2009 20:03

Plum - thanks

MM - does she have a fave cuddly toy/blanket? i often threaten ds1 (3) with taking away one of his things if he gets up again. he has a few things (!) so i don't feel too mean if i have to carry it through - though i've only had to once.
Hope you get some answers soon.

Oh and TA/Alice - i reread my post and it didn't come out right, wanted to say:

alicecrail · 15/06/2009 20:12

It is a pretty skirt, but looked a lot better when it actually fitted I love it so much and it cost me way more than i ever imagined i would spend on a skirt that i can't let it go and squeeze myself into it.

Alicecrail must remember she isn't a size 8 anymore

MuppetsMuggle · 15/06/2009 20:16

HMHB - DD is 4.3yrs old.

Plum- she does have a few teddies at bedtime and have threatened to take them away.

Tonight she went to bed at 7pm, got out of bed once I put her back and not heard from her since! fingers crossed thats it for the night.

PlumBumMum · 15/06/2009 20:25

Alice your dd is adorable, and love your sewing skills!
Is that your wedding day, its a beautiful photo, or were you part of a wedding party either way still beautiful!

MM Unfortunately your dd could get them just by holding hands with someonelse and then putting her fingers in her mouth even to eat, they are just as common as headlice but more taboo!
But she could just be a little unsettled with the brighter nights and be getting bored in bed, I know my dcs are!
ds&dd2 get a CD on in their room
My ds went through a phase of getting up, and I just did a reward chart every morning he got a sticker full week of sticers he got a magazine!(reward charts work well in this house)

OP posts:
MuppetsMuggle · 15/06/2009 21:06

Plum I did think about a rewards chart, I think i'll have to make one, for chores and bedtimes etc

For her starting school project for next 5 weeks - which is given by the actual school - she has to do something new everyweek and stick to it.

so a rewards chart maybe a good thing! thinks about how to do it!

DD has an appointment with the GP on weds regarding her feet - they turn inwards and they are getting worse!

JustKeepSwimming · 15/06/2009 21:13

Bribery works here (most of the time)!

Grandma has 'given' me some sweets (white choc buttons) and DS1 gets 2 after breakfast, 1 for going to bed nicely the night before and 1 for not waking before 6am.
Sometimes the parents forget, rarely does ds1

Monday:

  • sort out my shopping and add to packing Started
  • ironing DONE
  • online shopping (still not done!)
  • me to bed quite early

Tues:

  • all up & dressed
  • breakfast
  • tidy kitchen
  • general tidy round before cleaners

  • lunch (get quiche out of freezer earlier)
  • ds2 nap
  • afternoon activity with ds1
  • tea for all
  • boys bath & bed
  • me to orchestra
  • home and bed
  • DH home late

Ongoing:

PlumBumMum · 15/06/2009 21:15

I made my dcs ones just using word, Picked one of the table, put in days of the week, and then a list down one side
help in kitchen
tidy room
help mum
then left a few blank incase we came up with a few more

used word art to put a fancy title on the top and then laminated them

Although I remember when dd1 was weaning off her dummy I printed a sheet off cbeebies web site and then adapted it

but if you do it yourself with word dd can pick which colour table etc she wants and then she will have helped you make it

The only mistake I made was I started mine on Monday but, we always want to give the treat for weekend/Friday so make sure your chart finishes on the day she will get her treat

I do have a splint but the metal keeps popping out, seeing about getting a new one. I tried to wash my hair with my left hand - just to see...haha after 2 seconds I forgot and used my right hand. I have a plan - if I start using my left hand lots now then when I am in the cast I will find it easier!

I have so much I could be doing around the house! Going to do a few bits then have lunch, then sit and relax with jeremy kyle this afternoon

shower and hair wash done
clean dishes away
