Here it is a new thread for June, and to motivate us for the Summer

OP posts:
wastingmyeducation · 30/05/2009 18:03

Cherry, I've got two lines in the garden for when the weather is nice and four airers for when it's not. I was still desperately behind, so I am ecstatic about the lovely weather. I've nearly caught up!

DS slept on me again, for ages so didn't get out to the shop. I am fed up of never having any food in. Must start meal planning.

Hopefully DH will be back from watching the footy soon. I near moral support to cope with the heat.

To do:-

  • what shall we eat?
  • buy food
  • eat food
  • DS bath and bed
  • clear kitchen
  • mop floor
  • bring in washing before it goes dark
  • knit
JustKeepSwimming · 30/05/2009 18:57

I have a rotary thingie in the garden and last year bought loads of pegs so i hopefully don't run out, and a thingies with small pegs for small things, plus one airer (though it's falling apart, they always seem to, has anyone got a good one that lasts?).
love hanging washing out, it's one job i don't want anyone else to do for me!

ds2 had a late nap so he'll be late to bed, though he's 'nodding' so think it may not be too much longer. then it's wine-time

Cikecaka You might have something with the iron tablets, I try and take iron but sometimes have a few days where I forget (ie can't be bothered) and prehaps thats when I start to feel down. It is odd but weekends are when I tend to get a bit of a PND mood. Heho

Hello thanks for all congratulations .

NBM hope you feel a bit better soon .

Hope everyone else is ok and enjoying this weather .

Ok so details of baby I went into labour at about 10.30 pm on my due date (Thursday) after sitting on the birthing ball and watching ER thought it might just be the usual fake ctx for about an hour but they got worse. Had a bath DD3 woke up and started crying and ended up rubbing my back while dp ran round sorting everything out .
Rang db and sil to come and watch dc and my Mum took us to hopsital at 2.30am when I was having what felt like full blown ctx got to triage and the mw thought I was about to give birth and checked me to tell me I wasn't even dialated but they were not sending me home because a lot of women who have given birth a erm few times progress quickly .
Got to labour ward and spent two hours bent over bed wiggling hips and bum and groaning ino a pillow when checked again I was 3cm and my waters were bulging so they gave me G&A and I got nicely wasted .
Carried on until 6am and my student mw turned up I was a bit out of control and asking for an epidural they had to wait for someone so basically it was tough luck according to dp I kept asking what Stewie Griffin would do and singing don't worry be happy .
8.20am my waters broke and went everywhere it was like a balloon bursting .
9.00am I started to push and was rubbish for first 10 minutes then I gave a few massive pushes and out she came .
All was fine and she was lovely and alert and very noisy .
I was a bit out of it for a while but she had a 20 minute feed when she was about an hour old and has been feeding really well since .
She was unsettled last night until about 2.30 am and then slept through until 8am and has been fine all day .

Put photos on my profile .

OP posts:
NBM · 30/05/2009 21:42

Meglet · 30/05/2009 21:58

just getting this on my threads....

Meglet · 30/05/2009 22:16

I looked at my bedroom earlier and it reminded me of something out of The Young Ones . As a result i think tomorrows list needs to be....

put clothes away in my bedroom.
tidy + clean surfaces in bedroom.
dyson bedroom.
plant sunflowers into flower beds before they die in the pots.
clean sticky finger prints off mirror + patio doors.
hose highchair down and wash straps.
take washing off of line
order toddler potty training loo seat for ds.

after an appalling and aborted start to potty training in the middle of the week ds has now decided to do it all by himself. he even emptied out the wee wee into the loo and washed his hands, mind you he still wee-d on the living room floor twice .

CherryChoc · 30/05/2009 23:52

Oh grrr I have just realised I think the bag I've spent hours sorting out was the bag of clothes I'd saved which I wanted to keep, I'd put them away (sort of) because they are too big for the moment

To make things worse half of what I've sorted I wanted to keep and half, I didn't - I will have to go through and sort out which is which now. Shouldn't be too bad as I had decanted the piles into bags just after I finished the first bag, thankfully!

Oh am not sure which is which now. I need to find the other bag.

List for tomorrow:

Get some sleep GoingNow
Find actual bag(s?) of unwanted clothes to sort
Put away bag of clothes to keep somewhere safe
Finish sorting clothes for car boot

Ongoing list:
Clean bathroom
Tidy around computer desk
Catch up on laundry
Sort out some weekly activities to do
Sort out bus pass
Do Tax Credits form
Do Tax Return/Sort National Insurance thing
Sort out files
Tidy bedroom
Make house look beautiful with accessories etc.
Get another airer/some more pegs

JustKeepSwimming · 31/05/2009 06:45

Oh dear Cherry - hope you get them all sorted out today!

Meglet - my ds1 (3) is still not remotely interested in potty/toilet training. ho hum.

PlumBumMum · 31/05/2009 09:28

Morning everyone, its beautiful here today again
Cherrychoc it can really get you down when the washing is backed up,
do you have somewhere to hang them out, if you get one wash on now (I have a quick wash , takes 1hour at 60, or one at 40 takes 1hr15) and get it out to dry,
put another wash on, I found yesterday that the stuff was dry, so I just took first wash in and didn't run out of room or pegs

NBM wasn't such a fly lady yesterday never got a complete list, and if you seen my kitchen this morning you will realise I'll be sticking with the Slatterns!

Morning JKS, don't be worrying about the potty training, mine all did it when ready and never wore night time nappies, longer than the weeks of training.

Everyone up expdh
washed & dressed
breakfast
clean cat litter tray
feed kitten
strip our bed
hang out last wash from yesterday
load washing machine
empty washing machine
hang out on line
make our bed
open windows
wash back door window
wash & dry all dishes (including last nights dinner)
lunch
dig drill in veg plot for leeks
get leeks in
plant pumkin seeds
plant lettuces & salad onion seeds
boil mooncup
clean bathroom
clean ensuite

TO DO THIS WEEK

fill out childtax cred
renew library books
dd1 hosp appointment Friday
dd1 dress rehersal(sp) Sunday

The main problem i find with laundry is my washing machine is so slow! i am trying the 'daily wash' at 30 today to see if it's quicker & cleans properly....

I wonder how old the oldest (non-SN) child is ever to potty train though.....?!

  • me up first DONE
  • have sore head DONE
  • breakfast DONE (DH too late for pancakes)
  • tidy kitchen DONE
  • all dressed 3done & suncreamed

PlumBumMum · 31/05/2009 10:04

With dd1 I got a potty and pants in,
did abit of a trial run she wasn't ready, but at this stage you should always be reminding them they are a big boy and be wearing pants soon, no more nappies,
make it sound exciting and something to achieve
what kind of pants etc, bring him in to a shop that has lots of character pants let him see them and say you only get those when you use the potty and no more nappies,

I made a hart for mine and then everytime they used the potty they got a sticker, wee stickers for wee, and big ones for poos!
They only got the stickers after we flushed and washed our hands they loved it

OP posts:
PlumBumMum · 31/05/2009 10:05

that should be a chart!

OP posts:
CherryChoc · 31/05/2009 11:11

My washing machine cycle is quite quick, just haven't got enough pegs to hang out a whole load so things have to be doubled over on the line so they don't fly away, which means they take much longer to dry - it takes 1-2 days to dry half a load of laundry on the inside airer as well. I do need to get some more pegs so will stick them on next week's Tesco order. Or I could walk to the shop when DP gets back if he gets back in time.

List:

Find other bag of clothes IThinkTheyMightBeInTheLoft
Sort through these clothes AlmostDone & put in drawers
Sort actual clothes for car boot

Ongoing List: (Now on a sticky on my desktop)

Tidy around computer desk
Catch up on laundry
Sort out some weekly activities to do
Sort out bus pass
Do Tax Credits form
Do Tax Return
Sort National Insurance thing
Sort out files
Tidy bedroom
Buy airer and/or pegs

wastingmyeducation · 31/05/2009 11:25

Morning all!

Good luck with your sorting Cherry. There's a cupboard in DS room and I shove in outgrown stuff til there's no more room and then bag it up for the loft. Reminds me, it needs doing again!
You definitely need to get more pegs! It's funny how we get used to doing without things we need.
Last time I ran out of nappy liners, I just spent a couple weeks having to rinse full poos out instead of buying a pack, they cost a couple quid and it was really getting me down. This time I have ordered three packs, so should last me a while!

I tried a 30 wash yesterday JKS, not impressed, the underarms were still a little fragrant, but then I use non-bio and I think that makes a difference.

Didn't do much last night, arguing debating on MN, but I did work hard all day, so a sit down was in order.

  • breakfast, clear up done
  • fold dry laundry done
  • DS dressed done
  • DS and DH sun lotion done
  • DH take DS out for walk done
  • drink coffee and MN done
  • Me showered and dressed
  • any washing? (might be a load)
  • pack bag
  • out for lunch
  • bring washing in
  • hang up washing, if done
  • take out rubbish, recycling and composting
  • wash pots
  • dry pots
  • what next?
JustKeepSwimming · 31/05/2009 11:53

Well the first lot on 30 looks ok, so have put another load on 30 again.

JUST BUY MORE PEGS!!! lol we went mad and bought so many last year we have to many really now, but ds1 likes to play with them, lining them up, attaching them to different things, etc

Plum - he has tons of Bob/Cars/etc. pants but nothing really seems to bother him, mostly he doesn't care what state his nappy is in, he wold keep one on all day and never mind the smell!!!
