JKS I have that rule too which dh would like to break if we have another boy!
I have all sorts of rules, no names that can be shortened, although we did manage to shorten Zoe
Although I have a name that can be shortened to a name I hate, but I have never been called it, or I have corrected people if they ask me can they call me it, thats another , If you introduce yourself as something why would anybody dream of calling you something else if nobody else does???

Although we actually gave dd1 a double barrelled name (actually I did) and still to this day I don't know why, I blame the fact that she wasn't even a day old and I was trying to feed her and was trying to get the registrar away as quickly as possible
I dreaded the birth certificate coming because I was convinced I must have told her something wrong!

OP posts:
PlumBumMum · 11/06/2009 18:31

cikecaka I always wondered about your name because in my head I pronounce it c-cake-a and wondered did it mean something!

Well done Mr. Alibaba and Trillian!

We walked to town and back and I have blisters now.

But my friend at Lush gave me some samples.

I think I pronounce it how Trillian says, but now I'm thinking about it, it's all gone funny in my head.

  • clear kitchen
  • sort some of DH packing out
  • order blind when DH gets in

That's about all I can manage tonight I think.

Tomorrow:-

  • bring milk in
  • breakfast, clear up
  • wash pots
  • fold dry washing
  • washing
  • Me dressed
  • DS dressed
  • Tidy living room
  • wait for Virgin man to bring V+ box!
  • sort clean washing and put away
  • lunch, clear up
  • walk (if feet are ok)
  • what next?
HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 11/06/2009 21:14

Congrats all round - Ali's DH and TA for your jobs.

No list for me today. Had a migrane and came home early from work. Been on sofa all afternoon. Have only just been able to look at computer screen.

Lovely DH has put DS to bed and made me some food.

TrillianAstra · 11/06/2009 21:42

Ooh, free samples from Lush sound lovely WME.

List for tomorrow:

get up
Tesco (in car)
unpack shopping
smear test
take back stuff to New Look and White Stuff
give in cheque for garden party
take in form for ISA
lunch
go visit estate agents for handover
go to agency for forms
dinner at H's

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 12/06/2009 00:36

Well I thought I would sleep like a log tonight but I can't - still wide awake!
I say CC's name like TA does, but having similar issues to WME now I've tried to think about it

Me and DH have the same initial. The girl's name we like also has that initial! It gives us a bit of a problem as that would leave DS as the odd one out....

TA - congrats on the job

HMHB - boo for migraines, yay for lovely DH.

JKS - glad you've sorted clothing, nothing more worrying than not knowing what you're going to wear! How is DS2 doing?

List ready for tomorrow
Up and dressed
DS dressed
Hang out sheets
More washing in
Breakfast x 3
DH into office to do admin for leaving
Fold clean laundry
Clear up and tidy kitchen
DS nap
Wiifit
Shower and get dressed properly
Pack DS clothes
Lunch x 2
Post father's day cards and DB's birthday card
Pop into Sainsbury's
Decide what clothes I'm taking with me
Ironing
More washing?
DH home - check when
DH to tell neighbours we are away and ask them to keep an eye on the house
Dinner x 3
Story
DS bath and bed
Do packing
Sort satnav and map
Sleep

cikecaka · 12/06/2009 08:06

Morning everyone, never really put much thought into my name, when I signed up I thought it was a simpler way, as the first few names I saw had their Dcs name in their names, I thought it would be very long winded to put CI....,KE...,CA.....,KA..sMUM , back in a min with my list. Have to get DD1 and DD2 up

alicecrail · 12/06/2009 08:22

TrillianAstra · 12/06/2009 08:53

Am I moving Alice? No. Why? The temp job (one week only) is actually about a 15 min walk away from our flat, which is great.

Decided not to go to Tesco this morning - we have enough stuff to get us through the weekend and I think we'll be more economical if we leave it until we actually need stuff.

get up
Tesco (in car) CHANGED-MIND
unpack shopping
smear test
take back stuff to New Look and White Stuff
give in cheque for garden party
take in form for ISA
lunch
go visit estate agents for handover
go to agency for forms
dinner at H's
