Slatterns getting Sorted for Summer!

1000 replies

PlumBumMum · 30/05/2009 11:37

Here it is a new thread for June, and to motivate us for the Summer

OP posts:
cikecaka · 05/06/2009 16:20

Oh poor MM,my heart goes out to you, Ds and DD2 werent planned in this house (DD2 arrived less than a year after DD1, I was in denial for the 9 months, until I got a date for my cs and I went and bought bottles, baby gros etc a week before she was born).
DD3 was planned and a lot of hard work went into conceiving her but when I told DH, he ended up vomiting and me reassuring him everything would be ok .Which it is, she is wonderful (most of the time) and only that I had my tubes tied after DD3 I would probably have gone again. I really hope you get the result you want.

MuppetsMuggle · 05/06/2009 16:30

I've got another 2-3yrs of my law courses to complete, which would take me half way to becoming a Legal Executive. I can then realistically have another baby. However, I'm really broody all the time at the moment, and feel guilty that I can't give DD a sibling to love and play with, as it must be boring just being with mummy

DP, reminds me so much of my previous partner so is a feeling of deja vu, he has this attitude of just thinking about how his life will change, his lifestyle is pretty good at the moment and he's worried at 31 of losing that playboyish lifestyle . I just don't understand why he's taken DD on as his own, and is acting like this about maybe having a bio child of his own!

I feel sick, tired, hormonal, and totally pissed off with his attitude.

cikecaka · 05/06/2009 16:38

i was 24 when I got pregnant on DS, DH was 21, I was 25 when he was born and DH was 22, it is only now when I look back do I realise how young DH was, I dont know whether it was that he was the eldest of 7 that he could deal with the responsibility or not.
Broodiness is a natural part of most women when their little baby is no longer a baby anymore, they are no longer dependant on you. I seen a newborn with a couple yesterday and it took all my restraint not to go over for a cuddle

TrillianAstra · 05/06/2009 16:47

Plum hope things go well with DD's eyes.

Muppets fingers crossed you get the right result (whatever that may be) and that your DP realises how silly he has been behaving.

I've done very little today, had a headache this morning and now feeling kind of sick, but don't know why.

MuppetsMuggle · 05/06/2009 16:50

CC - at 31 DP still in someway relys on his mum. He finds big changes in life and i'm sure he'll be one of these people who will always say its not the right time - he could shock me but at the moment thats how I feel at 31 nearly 32 you would think he would be mature enough for a bigger responsibility. He owns his own house etc, but I really think on some levels he thinks hes still 21 who can go to the pub every friday night etc

dawntigga · 05/06/2009 17:00

Muppets I think you need to find out if you are pg, but even if you aren't you need to talk to your DP about 'what if'. that he is so childish. I am definitely not ready for children yet but if I was worried I was pg I know DP would be more helpful and caring than that.

MuppetsMuggle · 05/06/2009 19:08

TA - I know your right, he came round about 6ish, left about 7pm. didn't even want to talk about, didn't apologise for acting like a twat

Thing is he's normally really caring, esp when he knows i'm not well, so not sure why he's acting this way.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 05/06/2009 19:15

MM - I think you can go for a free pg test at your gp's. Best of luck with everything.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/06/2009 19:49

Muppets - DP sounds like he's being a real prat. As JKS said, it takes two so he needs to bear equal responsibilily. This isn't something that you are inflicting on him and he should be being supportive. I hope he comes to realise this.

Plum - your poor DD

TA - sounds like it might be a migraine, I feel sick when I get them, usually a crashing headache arrives within a few hours. Take some paracetamol and have an early night

WME - I've just seen about it on the news, pretty awful

TrillianAstra · 06/06/2009 09:47

Morning.

I know I don't usually have weekend lists but DP is away which makes today much more like a weekday. Except that right now I am MNing from bed

So, today:

get up
run
shower + dress
buy DVD remote control
find cake tins
decide what to make for dinner
supermarket
make cakes
make dinner
have friends round
drink wine

one of my friends is coming after a triathlon so will be hungry and might be a bit late, so I want something that I can just leave in the oven - chilli maybe. I might try to make chilli as a sort of stew with lumps of beef rather than mince, what do you think?
