Muppets BUY PG TEST, PLEASE, I'm very nosey

JKS sounds like a lovely morning so far!

Alice I too have really horrible dreams, I once dream't dh kissed someoneelse and I fell out with him,
he thinks I'm bonkers, I kept saying how could you have kissed someoneelse, and he was "HELLO, It was a dream!!"

Well dd had her appointment her name is down for surgery mid August, Consultant off for the whole of July,
Don't know how I feel, I really wanted it at the start of the summer so it would have very little impact on school,
but that is not to be, anyway he is slightly reluctant, he would prefer to wait until her eye gets worse on one hand, in the other its still going to need done.
I always feel abit shaken when he says how serious it is as he is not the type of man who likes to get ahead of himself iykwim.
well it means we can do abit more this summer, last 2 summers we literally couldn't do anything, just have to go in July for biometrics on her eye.

Sorry x post Muppets, you will have us in suspense, unless they do it for free at docs?[hopeful]

WME I have done this countless times
Was it covered? so,metimes if I have left it covered or sitting in oven I will still booil it up, for 2 reasons

  1. boiling it will kill anything that grew
  2. what did they do years ago when they had no fridges? My mum, gran etc used to leave a big pot of soup on the side for days (thats more a feeding ground for bacteria)
It always got nicer with age

Trust me I'm a microbiologist!

wastingmyeducation · 05/06/2009 11:47

We've had bad luck with chicken in the past PBM, I've chucked it in a strop.

MuppetsMuggle · 05/06/2009 11:49

Do you think my period as such could of been implantation bleeding?

As surely if it was a period its to early to be preggers?

PlumBumMum · 05/06/2009 11:52

What date was your period before 27th MAy?
And would it normally last only 2 days?

OP posts:
MuppetsMuggle · 05/06/2009 11:54

29th April - generally 3-4days, sometimes varies.

MuppetsMuggle · 05/06/2009 11:56

With DD I had no symptoms as such as didn't find out I was preggers until i was 16-17 weeks. I have low HCG levels and they never showed up on pg test, also at that time 5yrs ago my periods were all over the show!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/06/2009 12:12

Muppets - it sounds possible when added to how you are feeling, though poss you just had a short af, esp as your afs seem short already. (mine last about 8 days, cycle about 32days, not complaining though as i had PCOS before ds1 and now have cycles)
also - i was in a similar position last week/this week and took 4 tests in the end, all -ve, thankfully!

Right, forgot about a load of washing i hung out yesterday so that's now in the tumble dryer, oops!
Going to try and get lots done this weekend as well as relaxing. want to go to shops that don't have double trolleys that i can't normally face with ds1 running around (Aldi apparently has camping stuff on sale and i would like us to try camping over the summer)

  • put away baby toys from yesterday in the loft

JustKeepSwimming · 05/06/2009 12:16

Oh and Plum - at least you have a date to stress about work towards

Remind me again, what is she having done?
You can have a good summer, and don't worry about school, she will catch up. family funtime is more important

MuppetsMuggle · 05/06/2009 12:21

JKS the only difference to this poss AF was that I didn't get the usual really bad back ache. I don't suffer with cramps but my back.

MuppetsMuggle · 05/06/2009 12:23

also been getting a funny feeling where my ovaries are which is weird!

cikecaka · 05/06/2009 12:28

Apologies Haven't been on, have been a true slattern and slowly falling back to my old ways. Will read back when I get back from the doctors!

Rest of the dishes

Clean Sitting Room
Sweep Floor
Wash Floor
Hang out clothes
Put another wash in

JustKeepSwimming · 05/06/2009 13:03

Def sounding different then MM, therefore highly possible.
Wouldn't have to have been an implantation bleed (not everyone has that anyway), could just have been your body 'trying' to have an AF as it was expecting to. i had that at 4, 8 and 12 weeks with ds1's pg.

some nurses/docs would test for free but some don't. what about a family planning clinic? not that i know any!

think you are best to talk to dp, get a test, then find out. get a proper one too, not a cheapo one that you end up squinting at wondering

cos, even if you're not, you and dp obv need to talk about what you've been up to

PlumBumMum · 05/06/2009 13:13

MM, I'm not sure as like JKS I have a really long period lasts 8/10 days(although seems shorter since I got my mooncup!), normally every 35/37 days, so I never normally realise anything is late until day 40!

JKS She is having her cataract out, in her left eye, she has already had the one in her right eye done, and a trabeculectomy in her right eye done,
hopefully she will never need that done in her left eye as that is a very serious op for gluacoma, rarely done in children!
Its just worrying,
when I first met the consultant (Molly was nearly 3) he said preferably on drops for a couple of months(at the most) then on weaker ones and then no more, that is how it works with most children with euvitis,
he went through worst case scenario, eye pressure and cataracts, as a 'I have to tell us this but really no point because the chances are rare' type of way.
But she has been on the highest type of steroid drop from then, it just makes me sad sometimes, thats why I said to you don't beat yourself up if for example in a months/years time you feel abit sad/down about ds because sometimes you think your great and then other times you think about them and wish you could just make it all better!
Because then I feel bad thinking I should be used to it by now, even now I'm annoyed atmyself for feeling abit down about it, because I know we are in it for the long haul!

OP posts:
MuppetsMuggle · 05/06/2009 13:14

Hmm, maybe, I think my mum suspects too.
I was effectivly one day late this month, and DP reaction - well it felt like deja vu, with DD father put it that way!

If I get clearblue digi with conception indicator how accurate is it?

MuppetsMuggle · 05/06/2009 13:47

DP would def not be happy about it, I just emailed him asking a general question - he phoned up with a major attitude, which took me back to last week when I was hospital for something else, and it was calculated I was one day late - DP sped off in front of me as wasn't happy. I text him next day just saying you'll be happy to know AF has arrived! - with nothing else on it.

JustKeepSwimming · 05/06/2009 14:29

some un-mn ((hugs)) for you Plum, and your dd. after this op will there be a chance of improving/reducing drops/etc?

MM - well it takes 2.....so he can't be too pissed off.
those clearblue ones are v accurate AFAIK. i was using them last week. And yes, i've had words with DH about 'things' cos i really don't want to be pg just yet. next year maybe, and i'm looking forward to ttc then, but am enjoying being not-pg & not-bf too much at the mo!

change of plans, invited out for tea for ds2, and brother at a loose end so coming over for the evening/night.

Aldi didn't really have anything i wanted so bought some odd bits then ds2 was looking tired so came home again.

Today:

  • dry wet washing DONE
  • put away washing
  • put away baby toys from yesterday in the loft
  • pop to Aldi with ds2 DONE
  • lunch DONE
  • tidy kitchen SortOfDone
  • filing Started
  • bag of stuff to charity shop Forgot
  • ds2 nap Doing
  • go to friend's for ds2's tea
  • ds2 bath
  • ds2 to bed
  • check spare room is ready for brother
  • Wii Fit weigh-in (didn't do yesterday)
  • brother coming for takeaway & to stay the night
  • trash tv and an early-ish night

Ongoing:

  • rediscover favourites to save on new laptop DoneMore
  • get to 8stone 7lbs (currently 8,9)
  • contact handyman (sort list)
  • get photos of family & hang them up
  • buy some cheap photo albums

MuppetsMuggle · 05/06/2009 14:36

Plum - Hugs for DD & You.

JKS - I have told him that physically and mentally i'm not ready to have another one, as i'm enjoying my life at the moment and things are going my way for a change but if I am so be it - it'll be something i'll have to deal with.
I told him its like a deja vu feeling I get with DD father, and the attitude he gives out says everything really about children, yet he's fabulous with DD so its something i don't really understand.
He's not exactly getting any younger and in a few years will be hitting 40.

SuperWasher · 05/06/2009 15:30

Don't think I am worthy of this thread today.

all up etc - done
washing up - done
take dd to drs - done
go to optician and tell them I've been sent wrong contact lens solution again -done
buy m&s dine in meal - done
come home - done
vegetate - doing

ANd I STILL haven't cleaned the bathroom

PlumBumMum · 05/06/2009 15:38

Her drops will actually go up as the op triggers more inflamation, shes still on 4 drops a day on the right eye and its still not settled down, its just a matter of taking each appointment as it comes and hoping the drops don't do anymore damage to her eyes!

Muppets, if dp is prepared to take the risks he should be prepared for the consequences, although maybe he just hasn't had much experience round babies and the thought scares him.

I had to do a test a couple of months ago and when I told dh his face dropped(even though he wants a 4th) I just said lucky it was -ve going by your face! We know we want number 4 just not yet!

OP posts:
SuperWasher · 05/06/2009 15:39

MM Eeek! I know where you are coming from, dh's reaction was distinctly negative with both pregnancies He loves them to bits now they are here but he was such an arse when it happened (dd wasn't planned at all, ds came about 6 months before we were thinking...). I have a test I can send you if you want? It's only a pound shop one but it was accurate for me (well not that exact one obviously!)

PBM sorry about dd, it must be really hard for you.

Alibaba funny there is something not right with our shower too...the past few days it has suddenly gone to being just a trickle, no idea why.

MuppetsMuggle · 05/06/2009 15:42

Plum - I said that to DD father, he still never stuck around, thought at 25 he was two young to be a parent, bearing in mind i'm 3yr younger than him, his current GF is 5yrs younger than him too!!

DP at the moment is 31 will be 32 in sept, its like he almost wants to be carefree forever iykwim - but i know he loves me and treats DD like she was his own, so he baffles me!

PlumBumMum · 05/06/2009 15:51

muppets well maybe your scare last month, and the possibilty this month will get him thinking

BUT in a few years from now he won't be forty!!!!
((Plum gets very anxious as she is already 32 and dosen't want to be 40 for at LEAST another 8 years)) Plenty of time!

OP posts:
MuppetsMuggle · 05/06/2009 16:03

to me that is a few years LOL!

He says he's happy, is so in love with me and wants us to settle down but either he doesn't want children of his own, as he enjoys the freedom of his lifestyle right now, or he wants to be an older father. its a miracle I got PG with DD, medical issues down there. Ideally I'd like another one when I'm 30 so i've 3.5yrs to think about it.
