I think I need to work on my 'Ongoing' list, as it's all a vague, amorphous, threatening grey cloud looming overhead.

cikecaka · 23/03/2009 16:59

OH poor PBM, how are you feeling now?

Being such a slattern now, have cooked lunch for DH, gone downtown to do some banking and made dinner for DC but dont want to do dishes after it .

DS took news about his phone rather well, Had to go into the school at lunch as he had a nosebleed and needed clean shirt and jumper

fruitbeard · 23/03/2009 17:24

Thanks for the welcome, guys

DH has been in hospital since Friday night with a lung infection - still no sign of him coming home, but it means I can do some more cleaning - can't help feeling that the general state of the house is not contributing to his well-being

However...

To Do:
Empty dishwasher done
Take washed sheets out of machine & hang out done
Put next load of sheets in machine done
Organise the rest of the washing into loads partly done
Put next load into dishwasher done
Wash kitchen surfaces one done, one to go
Clear kitchen table
Mop kitchen floor
Sort out recycling
Tidy storage cupboard so that stuff can actually be stored in it
Hoover hallway done
Find some way of getting vom smell out of mattress (see other thread - thank you for the neutradol tip!!) done
Put away clean dry washing done
Put into attic the costumes from Christmas show that are still in a pile on the bedroom floor
Empty upstairs bins
Tidy up living room
hoover living room
Tidy up dining room
hoover dining room
wrap birthday present for DD's classmate
write thank you letters for DD's birthday presents
descale bathroom shower screen
Cook tonight's dinner
Arrange a babysitter for tomorrow's rehearsal if DH is still in hospital

Ongoing
Fillet/cull DD's toys so that she has room for her birthday toys
Sort out DD's bookcase (as above)
Clean fridge

And I spent the best part of an hour cleaning out the dishwasher spray arms as nothing was coming out clean...

Well everyone I'm at the everything is echoing in my ears and breathing through my mouth stage

JKS The nice ladders going up into attic haven't even made it onto the ongoing list, but maybe I should say by Sunday I will make dh bring ladders in so I can put the stuff away (ladders are in his workshop and covered in oil so it is not that I can't carry them)
Glad ds wasn't hurt

CWWM Sorry to see your thread about dd, don't know anything about her condition but feel for you as kids can be cruel, in my dds class her teacher changes their seats everyweek to stop little clicks forming

Still I have managed to
do dinner(thanks to me freezing some roast and gravy on ST Pats DAy)
unloaded dishwasher
loaded brushed kitchen
cleaned kitchen

still some pots steeping

told dd she could shout at me tomorrow if clean washing wasn't sorted and put away, looks like I'm in for a right telling off as once they go to bed going to put gas fire on and relax

JustKeepSwimming · 23/03/2009 20:01

Chocolate vvv welcome here

Ali - DS2 only 14 months so not really old enough to learn. it was totally my fault, left it in reach when i went to wash my hands post-nappy change, came back and saw him sitting there with his hand in the cup and clothes soaked with tea.
Wrapped a wet tea-towel around the bits that had been touched by tea (to his bemusement!) and there was no redness.
Luckily it wasn't that hot and pretty sure he's fine, will be checking him over closely tomorrow though.

Plum - i'll hold you to it!
