JKS Clocks spring forward, fall back,
And in behind that microwave door behind me is the reminants of a light green paint, the kitche must have been green orginally, not nice so it has put me off
The utility room has same kitchen and tiles( although more white) we painted it a lemony cream colour when we first moved as the red was too much in such a small room so I think as long as I get the right shade of yellow it will be alright

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/03/2009 09:29

ok. I need a kick up the bum today! Brain is failing due to bad insomnia and have been awake since 4:30.

I have lots of people coming round tomorrow. The house is bleugh and I have a mountain of paperwork to get on top of.

So am doing 30 minute slots. 30 minutes of cleaning and tidying and 30 minutes of paperwork alternating.

I don't have a to do list cos its all to do!

Back in 30 mins!

PlumBumMum · 18/03/2009 09:31

Me still to get showered so off I go

where CWWM this morn?

JKS, have you a wee CD player in boys room maybe you could go in put some nursery ryhmes on and you go back to bed, they need to realise that its not okay to get up at that time

I was going to say tough love if they wake up at 5.30 leave it until 5.45 to go in to them, and gradually increase the time you go into their room in the morn, they'll continue to wake early if they know mummy/daddy is going to get up iyswim

PlumBumMum · 18/03/2009 09:32

runs back kicks kitten up the bum

(don't ring animal cruelty)

TrillianAstra · 18/03/2009 09:37

Tired this morning, list today goes:

Wait for Tesco stuff to be delivered
Drink tea kettlegoingonnow
Have good intentions to do something useful in the afternoon
Go for lunch with friend who is on maternity leave
Go for (short) run
Post about run on MN
Realise that good intentions are not enough and I need to actually do something useful
faff about on computer
Panic and do washing up before DP gets home to make it look like I haven't been sitting around all day

Do you think I can manage all that?

JustKeepSwimming · 18/03/2009 10:25

Plum - well in that case, def don't have green! handy that you can see what it looks like though. a calming sort of yellow would be nice i think, i have a tendency to pick really vibrant colours which sound nice in theory but aren't so great to live with. - all cream in this house as haven't the energy or time to change anything.

and i know i should maybe do something different with the boys in the morning, but i have found that i am less depressed and cross about it since i resigned myself to it. this morning was an extra low point as i woke at 4.55 before either of them and couldn't get back to sleep. could have had another hour almost at myself & the birds!!!

FAQinglovely · 18/03/2009 10:28

oh god crappy rest of the day yesterday - most of list didn't get done. Slept in this morning, was "early" enough for DS1 to make it to school on time if he walked on his own (yesterday he walked the bulk of it on his own - just not the zebra crossing near our house) - said he could go on his own all the way today as an exception - so that at least one of them got to school on time. Then he had a major meltdown over the fact I asked him to go and put clean school uniform on and a few other things so we all ended up leaving at 8.57 - DS1 was 15 minutes late to school, DS2 20 minute late.

House looks like a shit hole, I'm knackered, I'm out all of this afternoon until 6ish and I just want to scream and find some magic fairies to sort it all out for me...................

TrillianAstra · 18/03/2009 10:51

Chocolate all round methinks.

I've actually done the washing up now and put away the dry bedlinen so now I can sit around all day if I want and some stuff will already have been done.

Today is going very slowly.

I'm trying to separate tidying and cleaning in my mind. Tidying is quite easy, and if you do it as you go along you don't even notice you've done it.
BUT it makes the actual cleaning easy peasy. Well, easy peasier!

alicecrail · 18/03/2009 11:20

Wasting I hate tidying (too much stuff not enough space) but find cleaning quite theraputic if i'm in the right mood. (which is very rare!)

Everyone up done
Everyone Breakfast done
Everyone dressed done
Washload on done
Upstairs hoover done
Turn horses out done
Put jacket potatoes in the oven done
Clean throws on sofa done
Put second lot of washing on done

I am feeling quite smug about my list, watch it go completely tits up from tomorrow though!
