No washing machine? Nightmare! There is actually a laundrette in my town butI have no idea who uses it. I think it might only be surviving on people washing theri duvets and other things that don't fit in a normal machine.

TrillianAstra · 16/03/2009 18:34

My favourite pub is having an extra-special pub quiz for St Patrick's Day. Not in Ireland at all, but I think over here it's just considered a good excuse for some beer (ideally Guinness of course)

JKS Mil is talking about taking dcs away for day well after she finishes work,FIL idea

So I offered last week to do my neighbours livingroom carpet before her daughters come home from Canada, so tomorrow will suit,

Cikecaka where are you?

WHy did you move away JKS, university/dh?

JustKeepSwimming · 16/03/2009 19:25

Well i lived there until i was 7, then moved abroad with my parents (dad's job). we came back when i was 12 and i boarded in dublin for 3 years, then moved abroad again. by a-levels age most of my irish relatives had died or moved so we became more UK-based.
i used to head back to see friends most Paddy's Days, esp when at uni but have only been back for the odd wedding since.
DH and I always promising we will have a proper holiday/trip/explore for his sake so he can see more of Ireland

JustKeepSwimming · 16/03/2009 20:36

it took me that long!!!

not sure if she meant to be brusque or funny...maybe embarrassed that someone thinks she could be a slattern?

some of them may join us who knows.

anyway, we are fine here (though slightly concerned about the possible Irish link.... )

PlumBumMum · 16/03/2009 20:40
