Hi CWWM,

It is lovley when you have a room decorated, is'nt it? Do you keep looking at it? (Thats what I do)

I'm ok (I think), I'm having another BP check tommorrow . I am very grateful to a couple of friends who have/will do school/nursery run today!! One is even going to take DD1 to school everyday for the next few weeks - so kind.

Enjoy your peace today CWWM.

Waves to the rest of the Slatterns!

Hi girls haven't done much more than empty dishwasher, and washing machine again

Now I feel abit silly as I'm having alittle sob/sniffle, and dh will think I've lost the plot, got an invitation to go to parents seminar on Sat for Arthritis care, rang to see if I could arrive late (as car up for MOT and need to find babysitter) and I just feel abit emotional

Think its because even though I bring dd to all the hosp appointments, I never actually been in touch with arthritis care so ringing up and saying hi I'm plumbum and my dd has arthritis, Oh I'm just being silly as shes had it since she was 2, think my hormones are playing up

PlumBumMum · 12/03/2009 13:07

Nipped out to see dh, he dosen't think I've lost the plot, feel better now, think my problem is I spend so much time acting likes its no big deal, that sometimes it just hits me, again I feel like ending this with it is no big deal

cikecaka · 12/03/2009 13:11

Oh poor you PBM, hate that when you have everything built up and the small things set you, bet you feel a bit better since your little cry.

Comewhinewithme · 12/03/2009 13:44

(((((HUGS)))))) PBM .

PlumBumMum · 12/03/2009 15:47

Thank you for the hugs, think I'm tired as I nodded off btn the 2 school runs

JKS, she has JIA, which means she had less than 4 joints affected shes had steroid injections into her knee and ankle thankfully not in the past year as she is on an immunosupressant medication
but she has uevitis and has had complications with that, she is on steroid drops in her eyes, but unfortunately we haven't been able to get her off the high strength steroid
so far she has had glucoma surgery summer 07 and last year cataract surgery both in her right eye, she had laser treatment yest for post cataract, so once we get right eye settled, she has another catract developing in her left eye so we are looking at surgery in the summer again
sounds like I'm talking about my 80yearold nannie and not my 8yr old dd

But we do play it down alot so its not a big deal, she got glasses last year and we picked really trendy pink and purple ones

cikecaka · 12/03/2009 16:22

OH the poor pet, having to go through that at such young age, Thought I was bad with my DD2 underactive thyroid, all she has to do now is taking 2 tablets in the morningtimes. Its hard sometimes being the strong one, when all you want to do is collapse in the corner ((((((((((((hugs toyou pbm and your brave DD)))))))))

PlumBumMum · 12/03/2009 16:39

cikecaka I have underactive thyroid, what age is your dd2?, most of the women on mymums side have it. so I worry for my 2 girls about that too

cikecaka · 12/03/2009 16:59

She is 9, finally got her diaosed last oct, had been dragging her back and forth to my gp for 8 months, he eventually referred me (think he was sick looking at me)to a paeditrician (sp?). The difference in her is unbelievable, I always thought she was a great sleeper and not very sociable, now she is singing and dancing the whole time, looking for friends to call over for playdates etc.

My mother had an overactive thyroid, and her great grandmother on my DHs side suffered with it but nobodelse as far as I know

PlumBumMum · 12/03/2009 17:09

You keep an eye on yourself I was diagnosed after having dd1 (so 7 years ago) after a couple of years saying there is something wrong with me, but my own mum was only diagnosed last year

Its awful when they're on med so young

cikecaka · 12/03/2009 17:15

She is getting better at taking them, used to have to squashed them for her, now she will swallow them. Have a constant reminder alarm on my mobile to give her the medication

JustKeepSwimming · 12/03/2009 18:00

You're both very brave dealing with all of that (and your DDs too of course!).
