Come on you slatterns, get your arses in gear, I stop posting for 2 days and you all start getting lazy................

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 27/12/2008 18:43

didn't see a single bump of a slattersn thread in the 2 days I've lurked. So here we are - a brand new slatterns thread to take us over to the new year (where I think we can safely say that one of our NY Resolution won't be keeping teh house tidy at all times )

I can officialy say that:

Paper lists of things to do are SHIT. They don't work, they don't tell you how well you're doing when you update to say what you've done, they get lost under the stuff still to be sorted, and they don't give you other unrelated banter while you're having a rest from it all

So - with that in mind.

Tonight (and I use the word quite loosely as I've slept the last 2 nights so suspect there will be little sleep to be found tonight) I need to:

  • Get my washing done
  • Dry it
  • Iron it all (it's taking over the dining room!)
  • Tidy and hoover the lounge
  • Clean kitchen worktops
  • Empty kitchen bins
  • Put dishwasher on

May add more stuff later as I realise it needs doing.

FAQtothefuture · 17/01/2009 13:01

everyone welcome

the more the merrier actually - makes us already on here feel even less guitly about our slatternly ways if there's a larger group

I'm just having some lunch and then going to go and try and finish packing DS2/3's room. It's nearly done (I think). Then it'll be on to my bedroom.....

I'm avoiding downstairs for now, as that's where most of the stuff that will have to be carefully wrapped and packed rather than just chucking straight in a box

alicecrail · 17/01/2009 13:12

Are you moving faq? How stressful, at least no tidying in new house!
Strip dd mattress and turn done
All dry towels put in airing cupboard done

next Hang out sheets from machine

dd has just learnt to climb onto sofa and pull wires fom computer so cant leave room for more that 30seconds which adds to the excitement (i think

FAQtothefuture · 17/01/2009 13:14

yes so long as the refencing company don't take too long doing my guarantors credit/reference checks (haven't got the form back off her yet - hopefully will have it by monday morning ready to be faxed off) this time in 2 weeks I'll be in the midst of moving

alicecrail · 17/01/2009 13:18

Sometimes i think it would just be easier to move than to sort out dump house

FAQtothefuture · 17/01/2009 13:20

true - but as the process has happened much quicker than I anticipated I really don't have time to be doing all my proper sorting/selling/dumping that I was hoping to do. I'll no doubt get most of the rubbish out, but stuff I want to sell (and I can't really afford to freecycle/charity shop most of it) will be coming with me........

thankuflly there is a garage in my new house (and I don't drive so no car to put in it) and I can put all my ebay stuff in there so hopefully won't be too bad.

and I'm sure it will only be a matter of hours weeeks before my new house is a mess

alicecrail · 17/01/2009 13:24

Good luck with it all

I am a little drunk. We got approved for finance on our kitchen! The kitchen I thought we wouldn't get due to burglary! We can't even get a debit card!!! Feels like such a weight has been lifted, and we can afford to carry on our mortagge / general bills / tuition fees for at least 5 months, which is when I finish for summer and can get ajob!!! Yay! Ha, get a job.... loads of those around aren't there.

FAQ - When is moving in day?

FAQtothefuture · 17/01/2009 16:01

hopefully 2 weeks time!

I need to get the guarantor form back off my Vicar and get the agent to fax it through for me (hopefully will get it back tomorrow) then apparently the guarantor checks take 2/3 days to do. Then I'll be able to get the tenancy agreement signed and then move!

simpson · 17/01/2009 16:18

Ooooh

pushchair · 17/01/2009 16:23

FAQtothefuture · 17/01/2009 17:16

yes I'm already seeing a changed man - well not so much changed, just the one I married.

He even picked up on the fact that I wasn't myself yesterday (just knackered after a whirlwind week) and asked if I was ok

FAQtothefuture · 17/01/2009 17:18

oh and he picked up on that during a manic 40 minutes or so when he came to pick the DS's up, so they were all over him distracting him and wanting him to watch them playing on the Wii!
