Come on you slatterns, get your arses in gear, I stop posting for 2 days and you all start getting lazy................

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 27/12/2008 18:43

didn't see a single bump of a slattersn thread in the 2 days I've lurked. So here we are - a brand new slatterns thread to take us over to the new year (where I think we can safely say that one of our NY Resolution won't be keeping teh house tidy at all times )

I can officialy say that:

Paper lists of things to do are SHIT. They don't work, they don't tell you how well you're doing when you update to say what you've done, they get lost under the stuff still to be sorted, and they don't give you other unrelated banter while you're having a rest from it all

So - with that in mind.

Tonight (and I use the word quite loosely as I've slept the last 2 nights so suspect there will be little sleep to be found tonight) I need to:

  • Get my washing done
  • Dry it
  • Iron it all (it's taking over the dining room!)
  • Tidy and hoover the lounge
  • Clean kitchen worktops
  • Empty kitchen bins
  • Put dishwasher on

May add more stuff later as I realise it needs doing.

Dog poo eeuw. I have put pooey wellies outside and left them for days rather than clean them.

FAQtothefuture · 16/01/2009 19:53

I have just been upstairs and packed a box - yes one solitary box, but I'm waiting for my takeaway to arrive now so will try and get back up there and do some more once i've eaten

JustKeepSwimming · 16/01/2009 20:07

well done FAQ [GRIN]

i left my dog poo-ey shoes in the porch for a few days as i couldn't face it
then decided to clean them, went to sing and sign, realised as i was pushing the pram in the doors that the wheels were pooey so cleaned them with wipes.

then got ds1 home from pre-school and he had some on his shoes too, yuk, yuk, yuk!

am doing some family tree stuff while watching 24 on sky+.

today:

  • our dinner DONE
  • bed
  • any laundry drying DOING
  • next load ON
  • dishwasher on before bed

ongoing:

  • remove stuff from our room to reclaim it and find new homes for it (or get rid....) more done
  • ebay lots of stuff, currently in a big box
  • get rid of lots of stuff we've cleared out to freecycle/charity shop/rubbish tip
  • get to 8stone 7lbs
  • look up family tree stuff on new 1911 census site DOING
(though will take me a while before i can cross it off list)

tomorrow:

  • go to town to look for ideas for DS2 birthday presents (otherwise will just put money in his account)
  • and buy myself some M&S jeans recommended on MN
  • wander round aimlessly as i have some DC-free time
  • usual up, dressed, breakfast, naps, lunch, etc. etc.
  • sort out the decorations i got back from the church the other day then put them in the loft with a few last Christmas bits i've found around the house.
  • try and find some other 'useful' jobs to do while i have dh at home
  • laundry
  • and anything else i think of tomorrow

Thanks Just.

Do any of you find weekends harder to be motivated? I always do and think I have never got over thinking weekends are downtime! (which they are but with DC we still need to do jobs)

Pregapuss · 16/01/2009 22:39

Right, I am upstairs for an hour or so as I am hovering as DD is spending her first night in her cotbed with no bars on so want to keep an eye out! Upstairs a complete bombsite after having to clear the loft so junk everywhere

Want to:
Sort through washing (about 5+wash loads!)
Move all the boxes of junk somewhere at least remotely out the way so i can at least move while it gets sorted through
Put washing away when I can get to the cupboards!
Put another wash load in before bed to put on in the morning.
Go to bed!

naturalbornmum · 16/01/2009 22:51

Right tommorrow:-

Find/iron clothes fo DC and me
Get dressed
Get DC dressed
Make breakfast
Clear up from breakfast
Take DD's to dancing
Dry washing
At least 2 loads of washing
Wash my hand wash only dress
Arrange play date - must do
Take DD to get new shoes
Supermarket
Make dinner
Clear up from dinner
Empty and load dishwasher
Wash up

FAQtothefuture · 16/01/2009 22:58

oh well, shan't be packing any more boxes tonight, crashed on the sofa at just gone 9 and only woke up about 10 minutes ago when H rang me - just as well really as I don't want to be awake too early in the morning when I@m child free LOL.

Just _ iknow hat ypu mean about weekends - this thread is defintley a MUST to try and keep on track or get back on track in my case.

IAteMakkaPakka · 17/01/2009 09:35

You lot are flipping amazing. I am sitting here in my jammies (which I got back into after getting up at 6 with DS and having a bath together ) and the house is a bombsite.

DS is back in bed and DP hasn't got up yet. I am back to work on monday and the laundry countdown clock (my imaginary one, surely someone can identify?!) is ticking.

Motivate me?

I need lists, right?

JustKeepSwimming · 17/01/2009 09:38

you SO need a list!

IAteMakkaPakka · 17/01/2009 09:42

OK:

wash dishes, clean surfaces and kitchen floor
several loads of laundry
tidy our bedroom
tidy DS's bedroom
clean bathroom
tidy sitting room
make dinner
defrost chicken
walk dogs
walk DS
hoover and wash stairs

[wail]

That's way too much!

FAQtothefuture · 17/01/2009 09:42

FAQtothefuture · 17/01/2009 12:26

oh no what a nightmare!!!

I've packed a few more boxes, just been down to the shop for a couple more. They didn't have many (were still unloading their car from going to buy some more stock in) but are going ot keep saving them for me.

Once I've "repaked" the roughly packed boxes in my bedroom (with the ebay stuff in them) I should have a few more to keep me going though...

Pregapuss · 17/01/2009 12:28

Right, DH has just left for work - thank god as he has been a right * This morning! He has just had his "weekend" so house is a mess as usual.

Todays list:

  • Tidy living room
  • HOover living room
  • Washing up
  • Make lunch
  • Clean kitchen
  • Put washer on
  • Hang washing up
  • Put clean washing away
  • Sort dinner out
  • More washing up
  • Sweep Kitchen floor
  • Mop kitchen floor
  • Sweep Bathroom
  • Mop bathroom
  • Give bathroom a quick clean
  • List latest stuff for sale

-Then I can hopefully get some more of upstairs done!
