Come on you slatterns, get your arses in gear, I stop posting for 2 days and you all start getting lazy................

1002 replies

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 27/12/2008 18:43

didn't see a single bump of a slattersn thread in the 2 days I've lurked. So here we are - a brand new slatterns thread to take us over to the new year (where I think we can safely say that one of our NY Resolution won't be keeping teh house tidy at all times )

I can officialy say that:

Paper lists of things to do are SHIT. They don't work, they don't tell you how well you're doing when you update to say what you've done, they get lost under the stuff still to be sorted, and they don't give you other unrelated banter while you're having a rest from it all

So - with that in mind.

Tonight (and I use the word quite loosely as I've slept the last 2 nights so suspect there will be little sleep to be found tonight) I need to:

  • Get my washing done
  • Dry it
  • Iron it all (it's taking over the dining room!)
  • Tidy and hoover the lounge
  • Clean kitchen worktops
  • Empty kitchen bins
  • Put dishwasher on

May add more stuff later as I realise it needs doing.

FAQ - AHHH. Be happy you deserve it.

FAQtothefuture · 14/01/2009 22:26

was rather sweet actually when he suggested a movie or dinner, really felt like he was asking me out for the first time - and we agreed last night that we have to start RIGHT from the start again (while trying to keep it from the DS's in case all that happens is that we properly resolve past issues but remain living separate but as close friends)

KingCanuteIAm · 14/01/2009 22:27

I just stalked you came across your posts from last night. It all sounds very promising - I mean from the POV of closing old wounds and moving on. If it happens to lead to moving on together with a healed relationship then so much the better!

I was joking about the thread, but do bear in mind that most of us use MN for the bad times and forget to post about the good times or the times when we were at fault. I think (hope) most people would recognise that and (eventually) understand that you are walking around with your eyes open and without rose-tinted specs.

ComeWhineWithMe · 14/01/2009 22:30

FAQ really glad you gotthe phonecall alos dont worry about what anyone else thinks about you and dp ,you know whats best for you and your family.

FWIW me and dp split up in 2000 and I went through my pg with dd2 alone (he still saw lo's ) he changed a lot and we both grew up 9although he has his moments) when we did decide to get back together we faced a lot of doubters but it was right for us .

Oh I am waffling and tired just wanted to say if you want to go for it go for it.

FAQtothefuture · 14/01/2009 22:32

I know you're probably right about the "wider" MN reaction. And I'm certainly walking with my eyes open now. I've learned a lot (about myself) in the last year since we split.

I just have a lot going on right now (no shit sherlock - just over 2 weeks until I move and just over 3 weeks until I start my OU course ) so don't really feel up to "fighting my corner" (so to speak) with the many that will feel that my decision is a foolish one - without knowing all the dirty on our relationship - iykwim.

ComeWhineWithMe · 14/01/2009 22:33

OMG sorry for all typos I am so tired .

FAQtothefuture · 14/01/2009 22:34

thanks CWWM - nice to "speak" to someone else who's done a lengthyish split and then got back together again.

I think all men have their moments. My BF is very happily married, and her relationship with her DH is very strong.........but she still likes the odd whinge about him LOL.

KingCanuteIAm · 14/01/2009 22:39

I don't blame you for nor wanting to stand and fight the might of MN - that is why I always try to rant and run... yes I am a cowardy custard

FAQtothefuture · 14/01/2009 22:41

no, well I'm usually up for a good fight, and probably will do up to the day I move. But it's about other stuff. This is more personal, and I don't feel like fighting about my personal life atm LOL.

FAQtothefuture · 15/01/2009 09:00
