What a fab video - best one I have seen so far

My carpets always look like that plush spotless one in the video

Am excited beyond belief now

but

the poxy snow means it almost certainly won't be delivered today as planned

SOB SOB SOB

Might have to do more than kiss Santa for that to happen, iyswim!!!

Toughdaddy - a gadget to improve relationships, eh?

Don't even go there

BellaKissedSanta · 04/12/2008 16:49

No Roomba delivery [sad}

Snow 1 Roomba 0

Did you get yours, Toughdaddy?

Guess you're too busy playing with it

ToughDaddy · 04/12/2008 21:03

Bella- No, I haven't run off with my Rooba; mine didn't arrive as scheduled. Perhaps the Roomba god in synchronising us. I don't know what to call her when she arrives- mine is definitely female- could have another supercharged bloke in deh house.

Yes, I am trying to resist the cheap shots about relationship improving devices, but .

BellaKissedSanta · 04/12/2008 22:31

Well, go on resisting then!

I have decided mine's going to be called George. Sorry if that's your real name, Toughdaddy, but George strikes me as solid, reliable and a little bit ponderous (i.e. he will go back and forth to get every last one of those crumbs, not whizz around everywhere in a flighty manner).

Does that make sense or do I just need to get out more

ToughDaddy · 04/12/2008 23:06

I feel a little more eclectic than a plain vanilla George.
Probably why I wasn't christened as a George but I sometimes vacuum up things like a George .

I stayed at work until 20:00hrs with colleague outlining and refining a really business idea so I feel inspired now re: coming up with domestic robot idea. Have you cracked it?

NotanOtter · 04/12/2008 23:13

bad news folks

NCRedBreastedBirdy · 04/12/2008 23:37

NAO?

NotanOtter · 04/12/2008 23:50

Phillip's dead

EachPeachPearMum · 05/12/2008 00:16

I thought he was but 2 mo old?

NotanOtter · 05/12/2008 00:27

not quite - each pear

NCRedBreastedBirdy · 05/12/2008 00:28

I thought that too? He was not right when he arrived was he? Arrghh, fill me in, Santa is bringing me one, I need to know everything before he sets the elves to work

NotanOtter · 05/12/2008 00:32

lord knows ? i set him to wrk this morning as per normal. come back looked at the room and thought 'thats rubbish' then tried him again and soon ascertained his brushes were not working

bizarrely i actually feel quite sad. he did sometimes sound a bit laboured for no reason but as he always had i dont know if that is normal?

NCRedBreastedBirdy · 05/12/2008 01:34

hmm, is he still under warrenty? It is strange to become attached to material things like this but it seems (from what I have read) that it comes in the box with a roomba!

BellaKissedSanta · 05/12/2008 09:36

No way, Otter.

I am not having this!

Not after your ringing endorsements of Phillip prompted me to spawn George...

Have you tried mouth to mouth?

ToughDaddy · 05/12/2008 18:25

Bella- you are very funny

So sorry to hear NotanOtter. I ordered 4 year warranty (GBP 39) with mine just in case but this is really sad. You should be covered by manufacturer's one year wrrty?

NotanOtter · 05/12/2008 21:13

phillip has been cloned!

courtesy of john lewis he is dwonstairs charging as we 'speak'

he only ceased to be yesterday morning and is back in the land of the almost living!

ToughDaddy · 05/12/2008 21:34

another advantage of a Roomba vs husband. You can clone Roomba when he no longer works. Long term prospects for DHs aren't so good, i think

NotanOtter · 05/12/2008 21:35

lol!

ggirlsbells · 05/12/2008 21:54

god am really tempted to get one

john lewis and lakeland seem to only have the 530 version..what's the difference?

NotanOtter · 05/12/2008 21:58

mine is 530

the 560 is programmable i just do not think it is worth it - the are both the same cleaner etc

Olipop · 05/12/2008 21:59

I love my roomba too...but it has died on me twice (currently in a coma)...the brush mechanisim keeps conking out but the manufacturers are really good and are sending me another part. I'd certainly say get one!
