In June my name was 2in2022, I've changed my name.

Join us in building routines to make housework more manageable. Start out with the baby steps, add in the missions in each zone, it will eventually become second nature. Jump right in, you're never left behind!

This is a long running thread, but we are a friendly bunch and all are welcome to join in 😊

July's habit is swish and swipe. That's keeping your bathroom clean. Flylady explains in detail under FAQ.

https://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/fly-faq/#swish

Do NOT sign up for the Flylady emails - it's an excessive amount sent every day.

There are Baby Steps for starting out, add one thing at a time to start good habits and routines.
There are 5 zones that we will rotate through, don't worry about finishing it all this month, it'll come around again next month! Also, don't even look at missions until you reach that babystep. Or you'll tumble out the nest without wings. Flylady is NOT about perfectionism!

Daily missions: each day of the week has a different mission.
Monday: Home Blessing (or as we call it, home bleugh)
Tuesday: plan & play
Wednesday: anti-procrastination
Thursday: errand day
Friday: clean car & purse out a week. It's also date night (with your significant other, or friends, or yourself!)
Saturday: family fun day
Sunday: renew your spirit
Common acronyms we use:
LOL: load of laundry (washing is certainly NOT funny!)
DW: dishwasher, we are not rotating wives by any means, although an extra pair of hands could come in handy sometimes 😆
LMS: lose/lost my shit
DNLMS: did not lose my shit

There are more, feel free to ask us to explain something. I'll try to update links every day, although if you can, it's worth downloading the app, you can even have it send you notifications. I use it for the morning and evening routines, you can modify the tick lists to suit your home & lifestyle.

I'm a flybaby as I'm still taking my time over the baby steps been slowly building routines since march. So I've posted a link to babysteps, I've been working through. This link will take you to the website with everything on.

I actually got almost everything done on my list! I ended up just doing a quick wipe down of the bathrooms and I did not make it outside, other than to water my plants. I ended up washing 6 LOLs, including the blankets from on the couches. I also vacuumed the stairs and the couches. I also handwashed 4 pairs of shoes, 2 were my own.

I'm tired now, and have to work tomorrow 😴

I'm still slogging away decluttering.
Hoovered under my bed, (it was minging), put 4 boxes of clothes that I've "outgrown" 😏 under it, plus my 2 new underbed containers which are full of spare bedding and throws.
My DP took the spare wardrobe downstairs and I've advertised it on Facebook free to take away.
If it doesn't go after the weekend it'll go to the tip.
I've thrown stuff away, made charity piles, and now have a safer space round my bed 😆
Still lots to do but pleased with my progress.

HazelNotHungryLC · 30/07/2025 18:23

Today's mission:
Tackle hidden clutter in your living room, the things you no longer see, hidden in plain sight! Look for magazines, bills, random items set down to put away "later". If you need to, take a picture of your room, sometimes that might help you "see" the hidden items again.
Set your timer for 15 minutes and tackle those piles!

HazelNotHungryLC · 30/07/2025 18:34

Cherry it sounds like you have made lots of progress! To have one empty wardrobe shoes you've put a lot of work in. 🤞someone just picks up the wardrobe so you don't have to get rid.

DillyDeclutter · 30/07/2025 21:03

Woohoo Cherry. i hoover under my bed quite often (every 6m or so) and it's always vile so I assume it's a universal Thing to have a yucky underneath. Hope the wardrobe finds a new home!

I did the snack cupboard yesterday. It looks lovely! We have also eaten a lot of Needs Eating stuff from the fridge.

Work today so not much flying, LOL done and put away.

Off work tomorrow so the crockery cupboard is being eyed up.

Good morning, we are enjoying Yorkshire. I have been keeping the kitchen clean in the holiday home which is quite satisfying. No dishwasher like at home but we're eating out a bit so not making loads of washing up.. last time we went on a holiday with a kitchen plates piled up in the kitchen.

@Alwayslearning25 sounds like you're having a great time!
Last year was the first holiday I've had in years, even if it was only dog sitting for my son while he was away. He lives in a beautiful area, I spent hours walking, and the only people I spoke to were in shops.
I was looking forward to doing it again this year but DP is on the wait list for an operation, and I can't leave him to look after the horses and dogs.
I've got a bit of a busy day today and tomorrow, but I'm hoping to have the decluttering finished over the weekend, so I can use next week for cleaning which I'm strangely looking forward to!
Happy flying everyone!

HazelNotHungryLC · 31/07/2025 18:10

Well done Alwayslearning25 is good that you notice a difference between the last time you were on holiday with a kitchen, and this time! It's also so much easier to do a little bit as you go.

Cherry I feel the same way when I have time off during the week to clean!

I do plan to come back in a little while and create the thread for August. I'll post the link here.

HazelNotHungryLC · 31/07/2025 19:08

Before I create the new thread..

Today's mission is to go sofa diving. See what treasures you can dig out: coins, pencils, cheerios..
Vacuum the crumbs up and pump up the cushions.
It's the last day in the living room, make it count!
