Are you looking to finally getting into a new routine with housework? Something simple to start that can be easy to add to over time? Flylady may be the answer for you!

This is a long running thread, but we are a friendly bunch and all are welcome to join in.

Do NOT sign up for the Flylady emails - it's an excessive amount sent every day.

There are Baby Steps for starting out, add one thing at a time to start good habits and routines.

There are 5 zones that we will rotate through, don't worry about finishing it all this month, it'll come around again next month! Flylady is NOT about perfectionism!

Daily missions: each day of the week has a different mission.

• Monday: Home Blessing (or as we call it, home bleugh)
• Tuesday: plan & play
• Wednesday: anti-procrastination
• Thursday: errand day
• Friday: clean car & purse out. It's also date night (with your significant other, or friends, or yourself!)
• Saturday: family fun day
• Sunday: renew your spirit

Common acronyms we use:

• LOL: load of laundry (washing is certainly NOT funny!)
• DW: dishwasher, we are not rotating wives by any means, although an extra pair of hands could come in handy sometimes 😆
• LMS: lose/lost my shit
• DNLMS: did not lose my shit

There are more, feel free to ask us to explain something. I'll try to update links every day, although if you can, it's worth downloading the app, you can even have it send you notifications (although I only have it for when the zones change). You can also modify the tick lists to suit your home & lifestyle.

Thursday is errand day.

Today’s mission is to surface clean the large appliances. Wipe off the fingerprints, spills, smears etc from the surfaces of your fridge, stove, dishwasher etc. This is not a detailed clean, but a 15 minute surface clean.

Today’s baby step is to pick out your clothes for tomorrow before you go to bed.

Crikey I need to keep up. Hi 'That' I was so pleased to see you were back here.
ED Love, love, love it. Do you go on the Everhot pages? I made a brisket last Sunday. Local farm meat, it went in after church and coffee and before I went to choir. Checked on it after choir then I went to the pub as D?H? hadn't put the potatoes on as asked. I had it on a bed of quartered onions, chunky carrots and browned it on the top then into casserole dish with almost a bottle of red wine and top oven for 1/2 hour then bottom oven about 110/120 for nearly 5 hours. It was like cutting butter and absolutely delicious. We had it Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and last bit on Wednesday on wholemeal rolls for lunch at charity shop. Didn't get sick of it as it was so good. Cost £16.75 plus the wine at £8 and carrots and potatoes out of veg box. The wine was a bit more but I had to go to M&S as we have a nightmare situation with roads here at present. Monday we will have four roads closed and if the bridge over the river floods(like Saturday) only one way in and out. We have to drive at least 5 miles out of our way as we drive south under a bridge and then back north before we get to where we would normally be. This will be going on for three more weeks and six for the normal way. Don't know how long the Monday road will be shut as they have wrecked it so much they are having to re surface it.It is worse than the farm lonning to BFs.
I haven't got much done today as a friend of ours turned up and stayed and I was already up late. Made bed and vacuumed sitting room.Folded clothes and wiped kitchen as we had easy tea.Tomato soup and sausage sandwich rolls after meeting in pub with some locals and a good winge about the state of the roads.
Hopefully more will get done tomorrow. I have however almost finished four blankets for Ukraine.Two are large child size two are baby blankets. I have a mountain of stuff in the dining room to stitch up and finish off. Right I am off to bed.Hope to catch up on reading tomorrow while DH is out collecting logs.He is clearing a neighbours and we can have the wood. There is masses dumped on their land. Needs stacking to dry out.It is keeping him busy. Cherry waves🍒🖐

Have both children today. Intending on taking them out to a creative play space this morning and doing some Easter crafts this afternoon, so might not be quite as productive today !

Friday is clean your car and purse out day. Also date night.

Today’s mission is to go through at least one shelf our your pantry/food cupboard and get rid of anything out of date or that nobody likes etc.

Today’s baby step is to start your control journal by getting a file and putting your morning and evening routines in it.

I never did make it back on here to add the rest of my ta das on Tuesday. Nothing too crazy went on mainly laundry!
I have been working every day since then, so not much for ta das to report, mainly cooking dinner and cleaning up afterwards.
I'm glad it's Friday!
Sorry for lack of personals, I need to be better, but this month is a little tough to keep up!

Hello I can't work out how to watch a thread on the app without posting. So posting 👋

Found the thread! I'm not sure what happened to February; it was simply a rollercoaster and now I'm finding my new normal and I have so much catching up to do with life admin.

Today TeenGirl needs driven to and from activity. Otherwise, it's a quiet day. Tesco delivery, batch cooking, laundry, etc. Tidy kitchen and utility. Some screentime and a nap.

Saturday is Family fun day

Today’s baby step is to learn how to declutter our homes by reading the Decluttering lesson and also to add a five minute room rescue to the morning routine

Even though it’s family fun day, I need to:

• do two lol - colours and bedding
• routines - swish and swipe etc…
• downstairs clean / weekly home blessing/ bleurgh!
• taking DC to activity and party
• getting my haircut

Family day started at 8am with the toddlers gymnastics lesson, swiftly followed by ballet.

I have my morning routine to finish off now.

NCT sale is next weekend, so this afternoon needs to be dedicated to putting clothes on hangers, filling out the paperwork and attaching labels. But hopefully it’ll help in the decluttering effort !

Hemax prepping today will definitely help you be more prepared next weekend (& hopefully less stressed).

TMI alert: I'm supposed to be baking cupcakes today, but it seems I'm not able to move far from a toilet ☹️ I'm not sure if it's something I ate or what it is. It was bad enough to wake me up several times in the night 😴
I guess I'll see how I am in a couple of hours, we may just have to buy store bought cake instead. It's my nephew's birthday today!

Sunday is renew your spirit day

Today’s baby step is to learn about using a 15 minute timer. The timer isn’t to race against but to keep us focused. Set a timer for 15 minutes and gather up all the rubbish and then set another for 15 minutes and sit down and relax.

Sunday check-in from me. Very little done this week as we had a positive pregnancy test! So we've been distracted and I had a sudden "oh god I really need to catch up with work before I get behind from morning sickness" and taking many more naps 🤣

Hi @MyFirstUsername2 , welcome to the thread. We’re usually a bit chattier than this but everyone seems to have a lot going on at the moment!

@HazelNotHungryLC oh no! I hope you feel better soon. Stomach bugs are awful. Shame about the birthday cakes but best not to risk passing anything on.
Dad moved into the nursing home on Friday. He was really confused and a bit distressed when I went in on Friday afternoon so now I’m giving him a couple of days to settle in before I go back (my mum has still gone in).

@Scourgify how did your day go yesterday? Sounded fairly busy still!

@Cat2024 how’s the haircut? Did you have much off?

@Hemax1 Hope the nct sale goes well. I remember doing a baby sale once and everyone said I was mad because I priced everything really low but at that point I just wanted it gone and the space was more valuable to me than the money! It worked anyway as I took barely anything home.

Oh I cross posted @CabbageBearGoat ! Congratulations!!! So exciting! Definitely take it easy now.

I’m hoping I don’t take too much home again 🤞🏻🤞🏻. Have been shifting some things on fb marketplace and Vinted over the past little while, so taking what hasn’t sold there plus some other things that Ive had stashed to sort out for a while.

Yesterday managed to hanger up about 80 items and add them to the spreadsheet I’ve been sent to fill out so I get my money after the event. Still need to price it all and once I’ve got everything onto the spreadsheet ( 200 items allowed ) print the labels and attach them to each item. I’m glad I made a start yesterday as it’s going to take a while to get it all done !

Congratulations ! Hope the morning sickness / nausea doesn’t hit too hard.

And well done with this weeks ‘wins’ whilst everything was sinking in. Mental processing time is also important !

I need to start flylady again, struggling so much with my health and a toddler, no motivation :(
