Morning everyone

missions

OP posts:
Ludaloo · 29/02/2008 18:22

I am off to have a nice hot bath....

(Eeeek on the haircut front though...I just know I will never be able to get it looking the same after a bath!)

tortoise · 29/02/2008 18:22

But i have no room to put their stuff. Half of it is in mine! Plus clothes that need putting away!
I just don't know what to do.
I want a big house!!!

DontDreamItBeIt · 29/02/2008 18:25

Evening.

I've been out all day, and am going out again this evening, so no FLYing done at all

I didn't watch that programme, but was told about it today

GO for your neighbours/friends but at work looking up. Redundancy may have been a blessing for your dh. I'm sure he never seemed to get paid on time.

I saw mention of sofabed sleeping and giving up your room for the ds' Tortoise. I wouldn't do it (We are currently but it will only be a few months and we have a very comfortable sofa bed which mil gave us).
Having looked at your pics - they are messy raher than dirty, I would say you need o get rid of stuff! If you want them to have their own rooms, I would seriously declutter, tell them what you are offering and make it conditional on them keeping the room tidy. If they manage for a month or so, then do it.

Ludaloo · 29/02/2008 18:25

Have a roothless cull when they are not looking...then ebay/charity shop/chuck out stuff.

I have had to have a bit of a chuck out this week whilst spring cleaning, 2 bags of clothes and toys to a charity shop and a couple of bags of tat!

DontDreamItBeIt · 29/02/2008 18:27

If you gave up your room, where would you keep your stuff?
Our clothes are in the bathroom (it is very big)

tortoise · 29/02/2008 18:27

I sorted their room out not long ago. They just have no room to put anything. They will soon have no toys.

tortoise · 29/02/2008 18:28

I only have one chest of draws so that would stay in the room.

Ludaloo · 29/02/2008 18:29

God I would not give up my room...I would have no where to put anything. They have to fit in their room (currently all 3 are in the same room) Just have to limit toys, and I use stack boxes to hide stuff away under the beds.

DontDreamItBeIt · 29/02/2008 18:29

I went through he dds clothes and got rid of quite alot once I decided to get rid of suff I liked but they didn't.
I am also much more selective about accepting second hand stuff for ds, as I found I never used alot of it, because it just wasn't my taste.

Minkus · 29/02/2008 18:30

wow I have done loads today as well as my little morning routine:

2 minute hotspots in 5 hotspots (there are about 25 in the house though!)
cleaned bathroom so that I can start swishing and swiping tomorrow
hoovered all downstairs
tidied hall
tidied conservatory
tidied kitchen
about 4 loads of washing so backlog is nearly done
dusted and polished hallway
lots of play with ds

knackered now and not anticipating doing anything over the weekend

Have a lovely couple of days everyone
x

DontDreamItBeIt · 29/02/2008 18:31

I'd put the bunks back together. You need the floor space for storage. Could you get a high sleeper (or two) cheap/for free?

tortoise · 29/02/2008 18:37

I don't think 2 high sleepers would fit in. They don't want the bunks back together.

It really doesn't worry me not to have a room. I don't have much stuff in there that is mine. And only sleep in there.

I want a double high sleeper for me lol!

DontDreamItBeIt · 29/02/2008 18:40

Have you got a sofabed already?

I'd still only do it if they were prepared to make a serious effort to keep them tidy themsleves. I'm being much more stric with dd1 now she has her own room. She always used to blame dd2 or ds for the mess when they shared, but now it is all her own mess there is no excuse.

tortoise · 29/02/2008 18:42

nope no sofa bed yet.
It is mainly DS1 that gets lego/knex out. No floor space to play on though.

tortoise · 29/02/2008 18:44

Must go walk Mickey! hadn't noticed the time.

TheMadHouse · 29/02/2008 18:58

Tort Our spare room looked even worse than that and so did my room.

What I did

Black sack for rubbish
Box for charity
Box for keeps
Box for ebay

Then I started and did some each day. The room is now virtually empty and our room is sorted too. It took me 1 month start to finnish.

Is your room bigger or smaller than theirs?

I would put the bunks up regardless and then get some cardboard boxes that they can decorate for storage and use them.

You need to reclaim your room and put your stuff in it. Use boxes under the bed for your shoes and out of season clothes. If it is floor space then let them play in it by bring in a box, but they must always take it out.

Boys are bathed and doing a puzzel before bed. We are off to the outlet village at York tomorrow, as DS1 needs cheap T Shirts and stuff for PreSchool

GO I lost a cousin to murder by her partner (she was 19) it was horrendous and the trial was even worse. It was very graffic and it still is very upsetting and it was 5 years ago. It does make you feel very vunerable.

TheMadHouse · 29/02/2008 18:59

Oh and Tort get some shelves great for keeping things off the floor and hammocks for soft toys.

I have turned into a storage freak

BiancaCastafiore · 29/02/2008 19:06

and at your neighbour grouchy, how awful

Tort! You have some serious decluttering to do! I'd rebuild the bunks for the boys and give them some floor space. I wish I could come and help - if I was closer I would, I think with some motivation you could really make a difference without having to give up your bedroom etc.

tortoise · 29/02/2008 19:31

TMH My room is smaller. I can't put shelves up by my self. I only own 2 pairs of shoes and a pair of boots. What are out of season clothes? All my clothes fit in my draws. I hardly have any lol!

TheMadHouse · 29/02/2008 19:52

Tortoise Well that is defeatist talk if I ever heard it. Ask a freind or one of the boys to help you.

You are a woman and a mum if you can manage four lovley children then you can manage anything.

If you can not do shelves then howabout a shelving unit

tortoise · 29/02/2008 20:12

I don't have friends who are free to help.

BiancaCastafiore · 29/02/2008 20:23

Oh tort (((((HUGE squeeze))))) You can do this, honestly, you can We're all ehre to help x

tortoise · 29/02/2008 20:36

Thanks Bianca. I need help lol!
I want this lol! Doesn't say a weight limit though!

TrinityRhino · 29/02/2008 20:59

Bewilderbeast · 29/02/2008 21:01
