(its a fundraising event...all the children get up on the stage and sing, then cawl is served, and then there is a band, so people can come and have cawl and a dance....its organised by the mums of the nursery children, we have to be waitresses for the evening too!)

TheMadHouse · 29/02/2008 16:57

Well done Ludalittles I am so pleased for you and well done DD2 for sitting

Bianca Glad your DD is on the mend

Trinity I took 5 bags to the charity shop last week, as both my two had too much clothes and they seem to wear the same stuff anyway.

Well the Tumble dryer has gone to the workshop to be looked at this time. I am really hoping they can fix it.

The floor was so mucky under it, so I have mopped the kitchen

TrinityRhino · 29/02/2008 17:02

5 bags wow thats a record just waiting to be beaten

I wonder how much I can really charity out of this house
oooh I wonder if I could get obsessive and end up in a minimalist house

yeah right I think NOT

FunkyGoldStar · 29/02/2008 17:07

Trinity - use freecycle then the people even come and collect it

TrinityRhino · 29/02/2008 17:07

wow thats a fab idea
I'm not sure I understand freecycle though

FunkyGoldStar · 29/02/2008 17:08

It's really easy. You post an advert saying 'bin bag of baby clothes, collect from xx postcode'. People then email you to say if they are interested and arrange a pick up time. Easy.

FunkyGoldStar · 29/02/2008 17:11

Dds having tea. Managed to change bedding in spare room for SIL but she has 2 bin bags of baby clothes in there and quite a bit of clutter DD1 helped me pick up all toys from living room though

tortoise · 29/02/2008 17:26

Grouchyoscar · 29/02/2008 17:56

Hello again All my last post of the week.

I did a final bit of flying so

DONE
Put the mountain of dry clean laundry on the bedroom floor away (Yay! we have hand towels for the bath room now)
Put Ed's clothes away (Yay, he had Jimjams again)
Bring down damp drying washing
Load TD and run
Hang up wet wasing from WM
Tidy Ed's room and replace his toy family.

An odd week in all. DH got made redundant and then got offered a freelance position starting Wednesday today. All is tidy in the house. I finished my job with good chances of getting the kind of job I want. Ed has been given a book to read by himself
and his picture is in the paper (along with his classmates). Oh and his school is out of special measures and now has a great OFSTED report.

Downsides are The lovely bloke who was our road sweeper has been killed in violent circumstances. His face is on the local paper. It really is a tradegy and the sister of a ex neighbour (same row of houses) has been found murdered She had been missing since September and they arrested someone about a month ago for it but they found her body yesterday. It is so awful. She was a really lovely lass and I feel so dreadful for her family. I have a strange feeling of emptiness about them both. All very very in the extreme

Sorry to bring you all down. I just needed to share that with someone. A situation I never expected to encounter never mind twice in one week.

Ludaloo · 29/02/2008 17:57

Awww GO that is awful...on both accounts It kind of shakes you up when local people you can relate to are involved

tortoise · 29/02/2008 17:58

That is very GO.

tortoise · 29/02/2008 17:58

Ludaloo · 29/02/2008 18:01

I was watching a documentry last night "The girls who survived" (or something like that)

It was really sickening.
2 10 year old girls were abducted in 1999...I remember the pictures of them. Very luckily they were found, alive, but they had been abused and it was really awful

You just can't imagine horrid things like that actually happening can you

Ludaloo · 29/02/2008 18:02

I can't find your pics on there tort

Grouchyoscar · 29/02/2008 18:03

Yeah Luda. The bloke is exceptionally awful. He was so kind and thoughtful and always stopped to chat and asked how I was. He asked how Ed was and he was a genuinly lovely gentleman.

The lass was really nice. Her sister is a beautiful person and she used to pop round to see her and bring her lo with her. I don't know the full story but noone deserves an end like that.

Make you wonder what we are living in etc etc

tortoise · 29/02/2008 18:04

try again

Ludaloo · 29/02/2008 18:05

It really does doesn't it

After watching the documentary last night I shall NEVER let my kids walk to school on their own...even when they are 10

tortoise · 29/02/2008 18:09

It does make you wonder.
I will have to let DS1 walk home on his own soon. A lot of his friends do already.
Will probably worry even more when it comes to the girls.

babyjjbaby · 29/02/2008 18:12

i have cleaned the bathroom and that is it don't feel well so not doing naything the house is tidy but not clean and it won't hurt lol

Ludaloo · 29/02/2008 18:21

Well tort you have your work cut out there LOL!!
Good luck! Can we have after pics too?
Our spare bedroom sometimes looks like that I have to admit
