OP posts:
Janni · 29/02/2008 12:17

Tort - DH and I have the tiniest room in our flat so the boys can have bigger rooms to keep all their clobber in. It really makes sense to us!
Bianca - I love Mary Poppins and Sound of Music - part of me would so like to be those Julie Andrewes characters - always knowing the right thing to say and do !!

To do: read to DD, clean out main bathroom

tortoise · 29/02/2008 12:22

Bianca I noticed most say occational use only. There are some more expensive ones that are for regular use. Can't afford new though. lol!

BiancaCastafiore · 29/02/2008 12:27

Jannai I might dig out The sound of Music for later on this afternoon...We're making the most of watching girlie films while ds isn't here to complain
Tort I noticed that too Hope you are able to find one if you decide to go for it

Dd is going to try to have another bath - after the sick-in-the-bath incident yesterday I'm not so sure but she's looking a little brighter so I'm running it for her now, then will encourage her back to bed for an hour or two.
I'd love a warm bath and a chance to go to bed for the afternoon

babyjjbaby · 29/02/2008 12:33

Thanks bianca. Hope DD is on the mend now and enjoys her bath this time.

TrinityRhino · 29/02/2008 12:37

I REALLY NEED TO GE SOME CLOTHES INTO DRAWERS

but we just popped out for squash, bread milk etc and gecko fell alseep in the car oint he way back
great I thought and popped her into her cot
came downstairs, put dd2s lunch out for her and gecko woke up
/ I NEED HER TO SLEEP for an hour ion the day or I cant cope
she will ne grumpy and mardy no and I dont get them all in bed and settled till about 8.30 which feels like an age away and I'm already aching

and even then she wakes after 2 hours then anyway

FunkyGoldStar · 29/02/2008 12:43

Hi everyone, I've been out all morning so need to do a mad tidy before SIL comes later.

Tort - personally I wouldnt do it. Sofa beds arent that comfy so you wont sleep well long term, plu the bedding will never get taken up every day so will fill the living room and get drinks spilled on it and then you'll be peed off.

Keep going everyone

FunkyGoldStar · 29/02/2008 12:51

Trinity, sometimes if I need to do something upstairs I shove DD2 into her cot for 10 mins with some books and toys. Will Gecko do that? I've also had days where I know she's tired and I end up putting her in her cot at least 3 times before she goes to sleep. Worth a try.

Just do one small pile of clothes at a time.

TrinityRhino · 29/02/2008 12:52

one small pile at a time, one small pile at a time, one small pile at a time.....

tortoise · 29/02/2008 12:54

TR I have a pile to put away. Shall we both go? Are you ready?

TrinityRhino · 29/02/2008 12:56

ready, set GO

TrinityRhino · 29/02/2008 13:00

the pile of my clothes is now in my drawers

FunkyGoldStar · 29/02/2008 13:02

Yay! well done. see how little time it took?

[knowing emmoticon]

babyjjbaby · 29/02/2008 13:03

good tr fgs i need to sort my cuboards out

tortoise · 29/02/2008 13:06

Well done TR.
I haven't gone yet! DD2 asked for a game on PC!
Off ro pur away a pile now.

TrinityRhino · 29/02/2008 13:07

lol I'll do another and see id Gecko will go in her cot

eww I smell something, looks like a bum chnage first lol

TheMadHouse · 29/02/2008 13:08

Tort I wouldnt do it to be hon - you need tour own place to be. It is important that you recharge your batteries for the DC's/ Anyway they need less stuff as they get bigger. Do you have bunks?

Bianca Mine love musicals too, although I bought the fox and the hound for the weekends viewing and DS1 has put the aristocats on his birthday list

TR I pop DS2 in his cot with somne toys whilst I am upstairs or now that he is a bit bigger, just give him some and shut the stairgate.

GO Glad you are feeling a bit better

Shanna We are giving DS1 a bigger room, just waiting on the bunckbeds and us painting etc and turning the smallest room in to a study thing

IVC I am so of your child free time

It is so windy we have all the recycling which was supposed to be collected this am blowing all over the garden and front of the house.

I am flagging a bit with the toothache etc, but want to get stuff sone so we can have family time at the weekend.

ToDo:

Wrap mothers day pressies
Finnish cards
Ironing
Sort Dinner out
Evening routine

TrinityRhino · 29/02/2008 13:33

well I didn't manage to go up with another load yet BUT I have folded the other mountain of clean clothes
I CANNOT believe how many clothes the kids have
it is ridiculous!!!!!

I have a full 6 seater dining room of piles that are as high as they can be without falling over and enough clothes washing, drying or waiting to be washed to fill it again
AGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'm drowning in clothes

TrinityRhino · 29/02/2008 13:34

dining room table that should be lol

tortoise · 29/02/2008 13:36

TMH Yes they have bunk beds but recently separated them at their request. It would give them both a nice space to play in too.
Really don't see my room as mine. It gets all the junk and clothes piled into it and isn't decorated nicely or anything. I can't see me missing having a room.
Might start a thread later to get more opinions. Good to get feedback from FLY friends and MN.

FunkyGoldStar · 29/02/2008 13:36

Perhaps it is time for a clothes cull Trinity?

tortoise · 29/02/2008 13:40

My DD's have piles like that. DS's pile is smaller! Minr is the smallest lol!

TrinityRhino · 29/02/2008 13:41

I'm trying, I'm trying

the thing is when I neevr kept up with the washing I used to go and buy more things that I thought I didn't have and then find them when I got to the bottom of the washing IYSWIM
also dd1 is shorter and smaller than her friedns and we get given alot
so it mainly all fits how do I decide what to cull of its not too small or hideous???
