When your children are grown up, they will remember having a mum who made life fun and put lots of effort into doing things with them.
I promise they won't remember the days they couldn't find a clean uniform and got to school a bit late.

sushistar · 26/02/2008 20:19

See, i'm babystepping
Once you've managed to open the wine you'll be able to muster the enrgy to drink it!

tortoise · 26/02/2008 20:20

I have a can of lager but saving it for Friday!
TV is on but not really watching it.
Browsing MN but am really bored!
Mess piled up al over the floor which i should be picking up.
AND i need to run a bath! Have smear test tomorrow(oh joy!!!).

DontDreamItBeIt · 26/02/2008 20:21

I've go a list for tomorrwo, and a bottle of wine in the fridge I'll take sushis good advice, too.

tortoise · 26/02/2008 20:22

I don't want to live in a tip all the time. I look at every toom and see mess.
My room is awful. i want it to look nice but its so small and messy and needs apinting but i never get around to it!

Maybe once DD2 is at school in September i will get more done! lol!

sushistar · 26/02/2008 20:24

Yeah agree mn is boring today - too many really pointless rows

Tortoise, maybe a bath and a good book?

sushistar · 26/02/2008 20:25

You sound like you need to do something small and easy to give you a feeling of achievement.

FunkyGoldStar · 26/02/2008 20:27

You're all doing fine. Just tired and feeling overwhelmed. Do NOTHING for the rest f the evening except go and shine your sink. Go on....it will make you feel better

tortoise · 26/02/2008 20:28

Haven't read a book for ages lol!
I read MN!
Better get the bath running before i suddenly realise it is 10pm and it isn't run!

DontDreamItBeIt · 26/02/2008 20:29

Do your boys help with keeping things tidy tort? Maybe now is the time to insist they do their share (if they don't already)

CSI is on in a bit. I'll open the wine and make the bed then I think (We have no bedroom at all, so nowhee to get messy!

DontDreamItBeIt · 26/02/2008 20:31

If you don't go and relax for a bit FGS will put her hands on her hips and shout and that is really scary!

tortoise · 26/02/2008 20:36

FGS i have done basically nothing all day.
Bath is running!
Dream No they don't. They used to be good at helping and putting things away but since living with their Dad for those 2 yrs they have got very lazy. They learnt from their Dad! Lived with his mum and Dad, his mum still picks his washing up from the floor and did the same for them!
And, and, and (and this really annoys me) she still insists on washing the boys faces in the mornings that they are there even though they can do it themselves!

tortoise · 26/02/2008 20:37

I can't seem to get them back on track. Doesn't help with me being lazy!

TheMadHouse · 26/02/2008 20:41

Evening all

I will second that the children will be more happy with a playing mum than a cleaning one. MIL is a cleanaholic and DH remebers getting into trouble for getting dirty or bring in a grain of sand. Infact he rebels now by insisting that she not tell the boys off - Its a farm FFS

Well DH supprised me by coming home early so we all sat down to dinner together and then had the trifel with strawbs (half price at tescos) for deserts. He then did the evening routine with the boys, whilst I ironed and put clothes away and did a genral tidy. We then all tackled the mess that is the puzzel trundel (DS2 got in and opened all the boxes), so we now have tidy and sorted puzzel drawer.

Still not managed to call the dentist, but I have refilled it with temp filling stuff.

Mum is coming tomorrow to watch DS2 while DS1 and I go swimming (DS2 not allowed due to his eye) and then I am taking DS1 to pre school for the afternoon.

EHM It will be worth it, take it one day at a time. I understand that it is pants, but we are here if you want to chat

TheMadHouse · 26/02/2008 20:44

Tort do you still have the tractor tom lunch bag????

tortoise · 26/02/2008 20:48

TMH Yes i do still have it.

babyjjbaby · 26/02/2008 21:08

hello since i been on last i have , wahsed up, polished downstairs, tidied up down stairs, steamed the kitchen including floor, wiped down window where birdcage is, vacuemed sownstairs, cleaned highchair, done some crochet whilst he was lying on his mat, got him fed and in bed and have run a bath really really pleased at how much i have done and still feel like i have got time for myself tonight now

i am planning on doing it again tomorrow so i keep on top off it but we'll see

my plan is is to get up dressed fed clean the house completly as i don't feel right if i only do the downstairs, if i do any cleaning, it has to be done all the house, but it is clean and tidy at the moment, i am planning on going to town tomorrow and going to specsavers to get some new glasses my ma has finally said we can just about afford a new pair as i have to have the reaction lenses and they are £50, i rang for a appointment but they ain't got none till 18th march, so i can use the walk in bit where u just wait and see if they can see you, that'll probably be bout 3 hors

does any1 else find that once the house is clean, even tho u haven't put anything big away that it always seems like u have got rid of lads of stuff, or is it just me and the fact that i know it has been done, makes it look better

TrinityRhino · 26/02/2008 21:22

evening all
hope you all have had a good day
sorry I have skimmed the thread but too much to read it all
I have been managing ok and I am expecting a phonecall from the cleaning lady tommorow morning with a yes or no about whether she can provide me with a cleaner, I am so excited
how sad is that

TrinityRhino · 26/02/2008 21:27

babbyjj
you sound like your doing really well

I know what you mean about feeling like you've got rid of loads of stuff even though you haven't
it's weird isn't it

tortoise · 26/02/2008 21:27

Well done Baby. You're doing well.

Hi TR. Glad you are doing ok. Hope you get your cleaner. lol!

babyjjbaby · 26/02/2008 21:31

thansk everyone it is funny how i felt motivated to do the house just cos i had posted on here

sushistar · 26/02/2008 21:43

Well done babyjj - if I remember from another thread you're a teen mum right? There's no WAY I could have done all that housework plus care for a baby at your age, I can't even do it now!! (sorry hope that doesn't sound patronising )

I've enjoyed my wine! I might do some ebaying - it's sort of housework as it gets my junk out of the house!

babyjjbaby · 26/02/2008 21:46

yeh ur right shattered now tho gonna go and have me bath then watch eastenders lol and be back on here
