My lack of housekeeping ability is wrecking my relationship

Please help me. The house is full of crap. It’s not all mine but a lot of it is, and I’m useless at decluttering. I spend all of my time reading about it/watching YouTube videos on minimalism whilst surrounded by piles of god-knows-what. I seem to have an inability to sort anything out.

We have kids, I work term time only and was meant to be sorting out this Easter but instead went out and had fun with the kids. The mess is worse now than it was at the beginning of the holidays.

What can I do? It’s driving a wedge between us. I think I just need some practical tips as I’m completely and utterly overwhelmed. 😢

If this is what works for you can you get him to take DC out for one day each weekend and possibly more on upcoming BHs and school holidays while you get on with decluttering?

I can try that, haha! Back to the grind now (work) so will have to find a few mins here and there to declutter.

I highly recommend The Organised Mum Method guided cleans - it's basically a podcast where she talks you through a what you're doing
There are loads of different ones for different rooms, and having someone talking seems to hold me more accountable

Since I posted, I have arranged an Anglo charity collection. I was so pleased to find a service that collects the stuff for me! I never seem to get round to taking it anywhere. The van came and picked up some bags of clothes and boxes of books 😊

I will look up the organised mum podcast, too.
