I am not a particularly tidy person but there are a few things that I have to do

I always iron the DC clothes even if we are just staying in all day. I am not so fussy about my own. I don't iron bed linen either.

I polish glasses and cutlery before putting them away.

My underwear is always handwashed and stored in sets in gauze drawstring bags

I clean the oven every day.

er....um.....Ah!...no....

I need matching bra and pants. does that count?

berolina · 31/01/2008 18:45

Making sure the playroom (aka ds1's room that he doesn't sleep in, preferring to be in with us) and living room are completely tidy of toys etc. in the evening. I don't let anything be left lying around.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 31/01/2008 18:47

I only started doing so after it took me a whole afternoon and a rash all over my arms to clean our (neglected for 3 months) filthy oven.
I wipe it around with a solution of lemon, vinegar and warm water when it's still warm after cooking.

I have to hide my washing up in a bowl under the sink.

I have to wipe the drips off the loo rim. (2 small boys dontcha know)

I have to make my bed. Actually, I'm not a dirty beggar at all!

vacuum 3 times a day???

ComeOVeneer · 31/01/2008 18:50

Hatrick do you seriously hoover 3 times a day. I do it daily and am considered anal.

Dwp i like the idea about your oven cleaning as I hate using chemicals.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 31/01/2008 18:51

I'm really bad with toys, they just get thrown into whatever box/basket/cupboard, mainly as I make them put them away rather than do it myself.
Then we occasionally have a big toy sort out day and organise and clean them all.

3 times a day indeed!
Is this the whole house or just the areas where the children eat/ throw food around etc?

Loving COV's 'quite chilled otherwise'.

CorrieDale · 31/01/2008 18:53

Whoops - Hatrick's, I mean

ComeOVeneer · 31/01/2008 18:54

LOL I was just about to say that unfortunately I'm not particularly chilled.

I sweep downstairs umpteen times a day - mainly bits of food or flippin glitter of a toy or something plus I mop the lounge, playroom, dining room and kitchen floors most nights (there is always something on them juice etc)

I never ever let the wash bin overflow so washing machine is on most days and always iron as soon as its dry so never an ironing pile

I never let the dd's stay in pj's past 7.30, we are dressed and hair done etc (not sure why I do that, my Mum made us till we hit teen years and she slacked off)

I clean the bathroom daily

All toys go in relevant box/basket and then in the storage cupbiards in playroom, only toys that can be 'seen' are play kitchen, dolls house and dolls pushchair/pram

I always wash up straight after a meal whether breakfast, lunch or dinner

Actually I am fairly anal about housework etc most of the time anyway

pointydog · 31/01/2008 18:59

I don't think we're hearing from any dirty beggars here

Tea towels. I only use them about once. I must have read somewhere they collect germs or something. I'm also funny about dishcloths and bleach mine a lot.

Also bathroom towels and flannels. Always washing them. Bit of a 'towel' thing going on with me it seems!

lljkk · 31/01/2008 19:05

Am 99.9% filthy slob, except I go into overdrive when there's been vomit in the house. Constant hand-washing in water hot enough to turn hands bright red, anything suspect washed at 60 or hot enough to scald, toothbrush of the afflicted in quarantine, etc.

Tummy bugs don't usually spread in my house, either.

MAMAZON · 31/01/2008 19:07

flannels are only ever used once.

the idea of washing my face with the same flannel someone has washed their lady garden with freaks me out royally

peanutbear · 31/01/2008 19:07

I clean the toilets twice a day I have a thing about the toilets being clean!!!

I Hoover quite a lot and I like to change the beds quite a lot too

but I am untidy so I try to make light work of all jobs so I do it every day rather than having to have a mad tidy up

StripeyMamaSpanx · 31/01/2008 19:09

I'm a dirty beggar.

The only thing I really feel I have to do is the washing up, but thats mainly because the kitchen is so teeny that if its not done it takes up all the room on the worktops.

Am at hoovering three times a day (twice a week here) and as for ironing... I cut the plug off the iron over a year ago to use for the fairy lights in my bedroom.

TsarChasm · 31/01/2008 19:10

'the idea of washing my face with the same flannel someone has washed their lady garden with freaks me out royally' I am rofl it's true, but I loved the way you put it

pukkapatch · 31/01/2008 19:11

i'm a dirty beggar most of th etime.
cant think of anything i am anally clean about anymore.
i dont like leaving mugs and cups and plates next to desk, bedside table for more than a few hours.. does that count?
