Has anyone removed their salad drawers?

I'm quite short and our fridge is tiny so it's really difficult to take stuff out. I end up ignoring it and everything goes off so I've taken them out.

Has anyone else?

I get it op. I've started to keep the jars in the drawers and the salad on the shelves.

Take them out or get a step and use all the fridge.

Yes. Everytime with every fridge ive ever owned. Drawers out, jars, tins, big tub of yogurt, milk on its side... all on the bottom of fridge.
Salad and veg on baskets on the next shelf up.
(I use the salad drawers in my cupboards to store pan lids and baking trays etc.)

Why have I never thought of using the salad drawers for jars before????

I keep the jars on the top shelf of the fridge, but I have them in plastic storage boxes, so I just have to slide it out to get to what I want, I too am short.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if it would cause the salad to go off quicker or something as I'm sure I read a wee bit of moisture is good

I did try keeping jars but again it was such a faff to get out, coz I'm
Short but also coz the fridge is so tiny that the door had to be pulled right back to access the drawer closer to the hinges.

So I've taken them out and it's much better!

I use them for veg, as designed, and, not as designed, to hide stuff I don't want to get eaten, yet. Ours currently contains a cherry and almond tart that I bought for the weekend.

Maybe put other things in the salad drawers like sauce, Mayo etc condiments then put the salad etc where the condiments were?

Yes. Sort of. Now keep all the jars condiments in them, salad on shelf above so i can see what's going off!

I have taken mine out and just use them as an extra shelf.

I take them out too. I have the salad drawers and freezer drawers from our old fridge freezer, I use some in the cheat freezer, and some in the cleaning cupboard. I might use something for sauces etc in the fridge now as well - easier to clean a pull our drawer than the shelves every week!

Sadly, ours didn't come with a salad drawer - only a chocolate drawer - and we're too obedient to break the rules....

Yes I always take mine out and use the space properly. You can get so much more in that area.

Oh my goodness. This is totally genius!
I've just moved and the new house has an integral fridge on top of a freezer which im not used to as had side by side American whopper in last place. I can't see the top shelves and drawers are totally annoying.

Out they go! Bravo 👏

i have taken mine out years ago and just use as extra storage but using 1 for sauces etc seems a good idea for
