FunkyGlassSlipper · 31/12/2007 08:25

Zone 5 and 1 this week - Living room for 1 day and then entrance hall/porch for the rest of the week.

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 08:26

Here it is. I spent mos of yesterday soring out downstairs, so I'm going to ignore this mission, and concentrate on the dds room.

I put my w/m on nice and early in the hope of getting it line dried, but I think it is going to rain, so I needn't have bothered.

Morning Ladies

FGS You are doing great with your morning routine.
Dreamit Yours is comming along well too...

I seem to have abandoned my routines lately...must start them again soon.

Well asking dh to move the computer turned out to be a mammoth task! The only place it could go was in the hall, but just as everything was dismantled, we realised the telephone cable couldn't acommodate our Broadband, so we had to go into town to find the right conection bit. We also ended up buying a pair of curtains to go across the front door in the Argos Half Price Sale.
So....when we finally got home, we had to fit a pair of curtains as well.
It took all evening!

It all looks much better now though...the living room is back to being a living room, and the computer fits quite well here in the hall. It does mean that I will Have to do the Hall missions now though!

The curtains are much better too...its amazing how draughty the front door was!
We might go and get some curtaind for the patio doors next, we have blinds on them at the moment which are a PITA! They get pulled down all the time by people comming in and out.

Anyway...ramble over! Had better go and get the kids drinks

Bianca Sorry I didn't get back on yesterday...all done now, so I will hopefully catch you today?

FunkyGlassSlipper · 31/12/2007 08:58

Hi Luda - Sounds like you've been busy!

I just realised if I'm going to FLY properly then I should be home blessing today I have my tasks broken down across the week but Monday's look like this :

WEEKLY LIST
? Monday - Home blessing
Purge magazines
Water Plants
Polish Mirrors
Vacuum downstairs & Dust
Mop floors

I will go and do the magazines, plants and mirrors but I refuse to hoover until I've taken the tree down

ludaloo · 31/12/2007 09:10

FGS My home could do with blessing. Everything is topsy turvy! Kids clothes/toys/boxes/crap still all over the place, bits of wood seem to be inhabiting the downstairs loo (I thought dh had tidied a bit too well...but no...he's just put it all in there!)
The kitchen has become a dumping ground for things from the living room which need a home found for them...upstairs is a bomb site! The Guinea Pigs are currently on the landing needing a new home, as they were in the hall....
ARGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

Good tidy should help today.

Right...washing needs doing amoungst a million other things, so I had better get on!

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 09:15

Oh, since we are going to start trying to do things properly, here is Modays list for me:

FunkyGlassSlipper · 31/12/2007 09:19

Lol @ Jas's DH. While he's in bed, write a list of really horrible jobs for him to do

Luda - I am returning to work 2 mornings a week from the 7th so I'm going to have to try and FLY properly otherwise I wont keep up

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 09:21

The kids bedroom is my disaster area. It currently contains all the presents tha haven't got homes yet, he chrismas decs that need o go in the lof,and three binbags of clothes for ds from sil hat need sorting.
I also have a huge box of coats and winter accessories that was all piled onto he coat stand in here. I want to sort that so it doesn't all end up down here again. The coats we wear every day are here, but I'm not sure what to do wih the rest.(rain coats, jackets, spare kids coats and assorted jackets of dps)

I'll go and get ds dressed, then do the bathroom and dress myself first though.

OP posts:
yaddayule · 31/12/2007 09:23

Jas you've taken down the Christmas tree !

As you're all doing it properly I will do my list

Draw catus'es and wanted posters for dc's to colour in
Help dc's decorate house with above artwork

Fancy dress party tonight (theme is Wild West hence the food!)

Yeeeee Hah !

BBL

ludaloo · 31/12/2007 09:32

Yadda we took ours down yesterday too...it gets to the point where all the clutter does my head in, so the tree and decs went away!

FGS What will you be doing when you go back to work? Are you all ready to go?

Jas I can't get used to your new name! My dh is still in bed too....I shall be tidying around him too soon!

I need to do a crisis clean in here before I can start my routines again properly. The kids go back to school on the 8th, so I expect I'll wait until then to FLY properly again.

ludaloo · 31/12/2007 09:34

Yadda your party sounds fab! We will be seeing the new year in quietly I think...but the Wild West party does sound like good fun!

ludaloo · 31/12/2007 10:09

Right, well I'm dressed to shoes (it's bin day...providing they will come on new years eve!)
Kitchen is looking a bit better, 2 loads of washing done so far...living room is tidied.

Shannaratinger · 31/12/2007 10:19

Morning everyone

Sounds like we are all getting back on the FLYing wagon.

Early Morning Routine

Get up done
Get dressed done
Make beds done
Collect washing and put WM on done second load in
Make breakfast done
Read control journal / diary done
Wash up & put away done
Clean teeth done
Cream & dress children done
S&S done
Put washing in TD or outside done
2 min hotspot
5 min declutter

To do today:

Sort out cupboards in kitchen, under the sink, hall and top shelf in airing cupboard & dc's wardrobe.
DP has tomorrow off so IS going to sort out the bedroom cupboard which is 85% his star wars collection, christmas tree needs to be fitted in as didn't go away at all last year

Some of new toys have been put under the cot at the back as i think they are both a bit overwhelmed with so much new stuff.

Yadda love the party idea. would love to see some photos
Jas & Luda I usualy leave all my decs up till the last day, i hate taking them down the place always looks so empty.

Anyway had better go and attack the cupboards now DS is in bed adn DD is cutting out and glueing bits of wrapping paper and cardboard etc.

Back later hope everyone has a good day

BiancaCastafiore · 31/12/2007 10:21

Morning! Soooo many posts already - everyone has been very busy.

Yadda the party sounds great
Luda I have emailed you my new MSN account details, hope you find them. I am now the proud owner of a very smart laptop
Jas hope your dp gets up soon. It was my turn for a lie in this morning which lasted till 8am when ds came in and jumped on me!
FGS what sort of work will you be doing?

FLY wise I've been terrible and not getting on at all well. Need to get the place straight today as we have a couple of friends coming for a few hours this evening. The house is a tip - although most of the mess can be and is shoved in the spare room so at least it's out of sight

We'll leave the tree up till Friday and then take it down before we go away. We always try to keep the decs up till 12th night. I think we were quite late putting ours up compared to others anyway. I did have a dream last night that I came downstairs and the tree and cards etc had all gone - it all looked lovely so perhaps I'm really starting to crave normality again!

Btter go and get dressed, back later x

BiancaCastafiore · 31/12/2007 10:22

x posts, hello shanna

Alambil · 31/12/2007 10:53

Hi everyone (is so much easier than a list!)

How are you all? I am ill again and I am pig-sick of it.

I can't be bothered to get up and do a shed load of housework that needs doing, but also I can't just sit in it and let it get worse (although it is better than it has been)....

I feel like I need to do 10 babysteps a day to be "normal" and "in to it properly" - is that clever, ridiculous or (hopefully) normal?

Should NEVER have told my mother about this project to organise myself either - now she is nagging about my sodding routine as well as the mess....

NYE note to self - do not tell mother about bright ideas... just keep quiet!

Arghhhhhhhhhh, really need to read and take in the info on the site I think today or else I'll just keep bumping along and not actually know what I'm meant to be doing properly!

Alambil · 31/12/2007 10:56

I just need to ask - can I do a fly-related thread with specific questions about it all seperately or shall I just ask here?

Shannaratinger · 31/12/2007 11:08

Lewis hello, ask here and someone will know the answer.

Just came back to say I have a space in my hall and kitchen cupboard
i also have 6 rolls of bin bags and 4 bottles of washing up liquid

Alambil · 31/12/2007 11:23

LOL Shan you sound like me - every time I shop, I think I need binbags. Now, I have LOADS!

Ok here goes... I will try to keep it breif.

1 - Do I have to have a control journal?

2 - Do I really need babysteps? They just feel so pointless; like each one doesn't do much, which I know is the whole point - I just can't get my head around it because the way I have been going is to just stay in a room until it is DONE, but I burn out about 1 hour after getting in said room!

3 - Do I have to sort my house out before beginning to Fly properly (ie - sort out all the rooms individually and get them perfect, then use Fly to keep on top - or use Fly to get to perfect?)

Still with me?

4 - How long does each routine take you - these lists seem SO long but I don't always have hours to do it in.

5 - Am I cut out for this?! I really feel like I've failed already - the settee is still a mess, there is still washing up to do and about a zillion bags of washing (no exaggeration!); however, I can see the lounge carpet and 90% of the worktop (only have the one!) - that is progress, right?

Sorry - wasn't so breif in the end.
